The guys that came were very strong and were able to lift everything (we told them we had heavy goods). They packed everything expertly and were very friendly and knowledgeable (there were some goods which we did not know how to pack or fold). Tina says: "I booked the truck about 2 weeks in advance for 1pm Fri this was confirmed by email. On the day, we were running a bit behind so called to reschedule for 2pm. We were advised that was fine as their truck was delayed as well but would arrive just after 2pm. We had all our items and furniture ready to go for 2pm pick up time. That time came and went so I called and was advised the truck would arrive in 30 minutes. That time came and went so I called again around 2.45pm and was advised that the truck was in Mt Eden on its way and would arrive in 30mins. Bearing in mind it was Friday I thought I would give them some extra leeway but it still hadn't arrived an hour later so I called for the 3rd time and was advised they were stuck in traffic and only a few minutes away. They eventuallly arrived at 4.05pm. I was told by the driver that they were meant to go to another job on the north shore but got told to do mine instead. It seem to me that they were understaffed. Even though they were late the move took just under 2 hours. They worked efficiently and were careful with our furniture and nothing was damaged. Pricing was $115 per hour but when it came to charging we were charged an extra 1/2 hour for travelling time. I queried this with the office afterwards and they told us this was incorrect so advised they would not charge us. We were charged so I had to call again and get the charge refunded. Overall I was happy with the job done, I would only suggest more proactive communications with clients in the future if the truck is delayed."

Susan says: "This company seems fine according to all the reviews. Just as long as you don't have any damage! If you do, expect a long wait, horrible customer service and loads of frustration.
Our move was average. Some of the guys were nicer than others, but overall the move itself was fine. They arrived on time, finished when they said they would and did everything they were required to do. With one huge exception. One of the guys broke a statuette that had great personal value to me. It was left in the lounge, unwrapped, as we had decided to hand carry it over to our new house. We figured, why waste all that bubble wrap It is a plaster cast buddha and not very heavy.
The guys seemed to be going along fine so we went out to lunch. Arriving back, my statue was in pieces on the lawn!! There was barely an apology!! The guy who broke it and the manager (can't remember his name) were almost sullen about it. The manager's attitude was "oh, well, **** happens, sometimes we break things". He said almost exactly that in fact!
But the real problems started when I tried to get Dave Baird to put in an insurance claim! This piece is a one off, or at least simply not available any more. It was purchased in the USA and I could not find anything comparable for a comparison price. But I did find something close enough. Still it took many, many phone calls, emails and 9 MONTHS!!!!! to finally get a settlement! And how much did I get paid out to have had to wait so very long $500!!! That's all!
I submitted a repair claim for $650 and the insurance company settled it for $500 for depreciation time. So why in the world did it take so damn long for such a small amount No idea. Every time I would call Dave I got some sort of story. Usually it was, "oh, right, I guess I forgot to file the claim". It was so infuriating, But still I was paitent, until finally I wasn't and really pressed Dave to get this sorted once and for all.
I heard from the insurance company representative in late May about the settlelement. Initially they were going to send me a check directly. But then I got an email saying that Tiger Transport had requested the settlement go to them and they would pay me. That was on May 30. On June 21, tired of waiting for what was to be a quick payout, I emailed the insurer to ask when they had paid Tiger Transport. The response The money had been paid the same day! When I called Dave, he said, "oh, yeah, I was just about to send that to you". When I demanded to know why he had waited three weeks from when he had received MY MONEY from the insurer, he said he had just received it a few days prior. Not what the insurance company said.
I strongly advise great caution in using this company, especially if you have anything of value. Because while they might do a good enough job moving you, don't expect much if you ever have a claim. Their service from that point on was appalling. Nine months to settle a $500 claim is completely unacceptable by any standards!!!"

The nearest thing to a hitch was the pickup address had a difficult driveway that the large truck was unable to negotiate. Apparently all their vehicles are this size. I got a quote from a competitor and was told $60 per hour for two people.
Unfortunately this company was fully booked on the day I wanted them so I turned to Tiger Transport.
David quoted me $115 per hour plus $35 per hour for each extra person. I ‘little’ higher however I had little choice.
At some stages we had two staff working and sometimes four staff.
Also at one stage one of the guys went into a closed bedroom where my wife was sleeping (she had just finished working a late shift) even though he had been told on several occasions that there was nothing in that room to pack!
This incident apart the guys were a good bunch and worked hard.
When the bill was totalled at the end of the day I was charged two lots of $115 when there where 4 staff working not $115 $35 * 2 per hour.
The result I was overcharged by $45 per hour when there was 4 staff on the job, a total overcharge of about $450.
When I queried this I was told it was because in order to get four staff there those two trucks were required to transport them so I had to pay for two trucks (i.e. $115 *2 per hour).
I was given a credit of $15 per hour however I still feel mislead and ripped off.
So be wary when getting a quote here! No more Cowboys

David replies: "I accept that we gave an hourly rate charge of $115.00 for a truck and 2 men and for a third person an additional $35.00 per hour. We did not visit this home before we moved the client as the removal was only booked two days before removal date and so we did NOT quote this job. Tiger Transport really did not have the time to complete this removal on the day but as Mr Lyon was unable to find an alternative carrier we went out of our way to put staff on site at 6:30 in the morning and these guys worked until 9pm that night to complete the job
I decided the day before the move to put two teams of two and two trucks on the job which Mr Lyon agreed to but we did not discuss the price.
This was my fault and I should have made it clear the amount we intended to charge for the removal. In hindsight it was a good decision to put additional staff on the removal as otherwise we would not have been able to complete the removal that day but I should have made it clear how I intended to charge.
At the end of the removal Mr Lyon indicated that he thought he had been charged incorrectly for the removal and I immediately understood his point of view. I explained to him my perspective in the situation, that for 4 men we have to use two trucks as it is illegal to have more than 3 workers in the one truck and that is why we charge more. Neither the less I negotiated with Mr Lyon a settlement figure between what I expected to be paid and the amount he anticipated being charged. I asked Mr Lyon if he was happy to accept that charge and he stated that he was. At that point in time he willingly gave he his credit card number and I processed it. If he had stated he was unhappy with the charge I would have reduced the invoice further to meet his expectations.
The following day I recalculated the charges based on his perception of how he should have been charged and I calculated that Tiger Transport was up by $30.00 in total. A very small amount considering the size and total cost of this job
I am disappointed with Mr Lyon in that he didn’t discuss the charging problem with me further if he felt unhappy. I am also disappointed that he hasn’t taken the time to be accurate with the figures he has put on No Cowboys. I am also saddened that we all went out of our way to help Mr Lyon out of a difficult situation including the Tiger Team working some very long hours and we have received very little thanks for that. However he has said that he thought our men did a good job and I thank him for saying so

The two men ( J.D. and Gary) who arrived at our home to uptake these items, arrived on time and then took the items to our new address. I asked them if they would carry these items to our workshop area of the house. To get these items to the workshop took a huge huge huge effort, down a slippery bank. I really did expect that they may well have said no to my request, as certainly the contract was to move the items from one house to another, not to go to such extreme measures.
However they did get them into the workshop, going to great lengths to do so. I and my husband were extremely grateful that these two men went the extra mile to help a client. Thank you Tiger Transport, and more importantly, thank you J.D. and Gary. We will absolutely recommend Tiger Transport to anyone who needs anything moving, be it a house lot or as in our case, awkward and heavy equipment.

When I came to hire Tiger Transport, it was based solely on a recommendation from a friend. If I had gone by the yellow pages, because the ad was small I had initially missed it, so only rung moving companies with the big ads that advertised prices under $100. That turned out to be a little misleading to be honest because they did not include their call out fee, their base to house and back again fee, so that in fact, in all the companies I rang, their fees really were $100 or over.
When I called TT for a quote, the guy on the phone gave me a full inclusive cost. I was just about to end the conversation thinking that it was I would go back to the big ad companies. But without realising that I was about to hang up, he explained how movers charge, and they included all the fees in one. I would have been none the wiser without his explanation because none of the other companies really explained that. I checked out what he said by calling back the other companies to verify what the all up fee would be. And why. And TT had given me correct advice. The big ads were misleading in the sense that they advertise a rate of say $60 or so. But that didn't include the call out fee or the base to where-ever fee.
Tiger, on the other hand, charge you one fee and quote you one fee only. Sorry bout the long explanation but I think it's important to point that out to people unfamiliar with how the pricing works. I would highly recommend Tiger Transport because they were straight up and honest about the fee, and they did what they said they would do. Will be recommending you guys to others as well, most definitely."

They were very careful with our belongings (no breakages or marks on anything) and checked where we wanted everything put. And they were really well priced (charging starts from when they arrive at your property, not when they leave their depot, like a lot of other companies). Would recommend them 100%."

cause of the stressful situation.Gave me Lewis number as he had moved his family in the past,rang Lewis he said no problem came out later that day,as there was packing to be done as well,turned up Sunday morning with 3 guys and 1 lady packer.
Got straight into it,job took 12hrs for which the previous movers took 15hrs.Very very happy with the quote,superb service,friendly and helpful bunch of guys. Packer very careful,no damages or breakages.I recommend Lewis and his team for their awesome service and No Problem attitude at such short notice. AAA"

The guys were very friendly and communicative, and when my queen size bed refused to go up the narrow stairs they immediately thought of plan B, using the upstairs window to hoist the base of the bed up into the bedroom. The guys arrived on time, were friendly, polite and professional. They had a plan as to how to load the truck to move 2 houses to 2 houses on the same day. I had no concerns at all about the safety or security of our possessions. The guys that did the moving for us were Trojans. Where I would have expected them to slow down lifting heavy furniture etc on a rare hot sunny day, they were literally running out of the truck for their next load.
I expected good service based on other feedback on this site, but what I got was far better than good. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone going through the stressful process of moving house and if I do move again, one day in the distant future, I won't be shopping around, I'll be going straight back to Tiger transport. "

Could hire containers for packing at minimal price and found that this team would move in and do every bit of the packing, shifting and unpacking themselves if needed.
