I have first-hand experience of them managing my house on the north shore; it was an experience that left me in debt to the value of over $3700.00 and I regret having given them my property to manage.
I first went to Buildcorp after I realised I was not capable of managing my own property. They didn’t do a better job.
The first tenant they put in failed to pay rent to start with and by the… time they evicted him in 2011, he ended up owing a debt of $2,956.14 which remains outstanding today. They failed to take prompt action when he got behind in rent and I personally believe they do not watch the rent as they claim, either that or they do not take action against them in a timely manner. I was not informed about the problem and had to walk into the office to find out why I was not receiving my rental income.
"They also failed to pay my rates on time which result in me having to pay 10% penalties to value of around $90.00 which they did not reimburse me for. I found their level of communication on all accounts appalling.
The second tenant they put in was an extremely difficult person to deal with. She failed to look after the property. After having decided to remove the management from them which in itself was a stressful experience, I found out that they had failed to conduct a proper entry inspection report and what report they did have was not dated or signed by the tenant or my property manager. They also had not taken any photographs of the property.
When this tenant left, the new property manager took her to the Tribunal to claim damages however because Buildcorp had failed to conduct a proper entry inspection report and failed to take photos, the judge was unable to award costs as we could not provide evidence that the damage was not originally there. The result being I was again left out of pocket to the value of $800.00.
I cannot believe their mission statement on their website:
“It is the objective of this company to continue to offer a quality of service that is second to none.
To achieve long term business relationships, through maintaining a professional and efficient approach to satisfying and exceeding our client expectations”.
Its all very well saying these things, but reality is they do not do them, they are incompetent and do not take care of your property, I was not left with my expectations being exceeding, what a joke!. At the end of our client relationship I received no apology, no compensation from them. I felt ripped off, taken advantage of, and kicked in the teeth. I lost good faith in property managers and the claims they make about how they manage your property.
