    "the owner of the company gave conflicting information; as a result of this, when I tried to obtain up-to-date information on the day of delivery, the owner of the company "lost control" on the phone and was extremely rude.
    Not only is this not a way to speak to a customer under any circumstance, but this was a customer who simply wanted to receive clarification for conflicting information given.
    In future, I will insist on the use of another transport company.    "

    "Extremely taken back by this review and would deeply apologise for any poor communication or apparant rudeness made on my part but would like to table my and our company's response to this adverse criticism made This particular booking and vehicle transportation was made by the Porsche service agent centre management in Auckland to pick up this clients car and bring it from its owners residence in Hawkes bay and return it on completion of it's service. This was done in full communication with their service manager and the client concerned and no conflicting communication was given to the client or to the Service manager involved As CEO I personally communicated with the Service manager and client on almost a daily basis and the vehicle was picked up and delivered back to the clients residence in Havelock North within a week . On Tuesday after receiving one of many direct calls from the customers client I advised him his car had been picked up and was scheduled to be down in Napier late on Wednesday and if arrived in the Napier depot in time would be delivered then or the following morning if arrived later that day. On Thursday morning [ today ] at around 8am the service manager and I were contacted again for an update from him which I responded was on scheduled to be delivered that same day as advised earlier and dispatch would give him a call prior to delivery with timing. He replied that was not good enough and wanted to know exactly where it was at that point . I replied I would contact dispatch again for a further update and contact him back which i did within the hour and advised him and confirmed it had arrived at the Napier depot later the previous night and was on schedule to be delivered out that day which he thanked me for . It actually was delivered out to him at his Havelock residence before lunch that same day as communicated to him it would be as informed on a number of earlier conversations All these conversations can also be be confirmed by the service management and company who booked this vehicle in. I will still make a point of ringing this gentleman back to apologise for any missed communication that may have arisen or apparant rudeness from me personally. Happy to fully clarify this further if required as take a lot of pride in the service our company does provide and the more recent positive overall feedback we have received from our many customers "

    "We had to move house at short notice and moving 2 of my garage toys was an issue due to the 4 hour drive to the new house. We engaged Captain Transporter to pick up the 2 cars and deliver them to the new place within a few days. Contact for pick up was excellent. Raj took them to Hamilton for onward shipping the day after. I got my second call at 9am the following day from Jason the transporter driver. He would be there within an hour. Jason didn't bring the transporter down the… cul-de-sac. He sensibly unloaded both cars and drove them the last 100m. My partner had even filled one of the vehicles with clothes and kitchen essentials, which helped with the overall move. Considering the cost to ship each car, versus the petrol and time it is great value for money. I have used them several times before and I will do again when we need to move a vehicle."

    "I would never recommend using Captain Transporter. My vehicle was damaged due to bad weather conditions (which I understand can happen and don't blame the company for it). When asked as to an ETA of when the damages could be fixed over a few emails the only response I got was 'the assessor will be in touch with you'- Clive (the owner) at this point was not willing to take ownership of it. When I called to explain that I'm out of town quite a lot and if I knew an ETA I could arrange to be around… (as I needed to be) Clive started viciously yelling and shouting at me over the phone. The communication was atrocious!"
    Clive responded:
    "We can confirm that this person did have the cover off her spare wheel blow off in transit during its transportation in a recent storm we had which was duly recovered , repaired and repainted and delivered back to her within a reasonable timeframe by the transport company involved. However this person was most unpleasant and unreasonable to deal with during this repair process even after regular communications with her with the assessor and transport company concerned and keeping her fully posted on the progress on getting her newly painted cover delivered back to her which was done and apologies given to her for any inconvenience caused. At no stage was I personally rude to her or shouted at her but I was hardly allowed to get a word in edgewise with her ongoing demands to have this cover repaired , repainted and delivered back to her address within a few days. I would simply advise any person having any dealings with Ashwini to tread with caution as a most demanding, vindictive and unreasonable person to deal with. We are particularly proud of our reputation and relationship with our clients and our client Feedback on our website speaks for itself. "

    "Absolutely fantastic service provided by both Clive and Julie this week. I purchased a car on trademe that needed to be picked up asap as the owner was leaving the country. Had it picked up from Masterton the same day and Delivered to Hamilton within a few days of first making contact. Clive understood our situation and made the extra effort to ensure we got our car picked up before the previous owner had to leave.     Once again, exceeded my expectations (and I have high expectations)

    Your team is absolutely impeccable mate, and really how did this truck get here so fast?

    This was quite a critical pickup as the workshop that had… my NON runner wanted it out, I brought it off a guy that couldn’t afford to fix it and it was not anyone’s fault that the workshop needed it out for more business, I really knew I couldn’t trust anyone apart from you guys to deliver, I can’t could now how many NON runners from all round NZ you guys have done for me , as usual the driver got there well before deadline and loaded it up, AND got it back to AKL on the same day……….

    FANTASTIC,

    Please pass on my professional gratitude to the driver also, he always goes out of his way and follows instructions perfectly, takes great care of the vehicle’s, and dealing with NON runners is bit of a nightmare normally but this guy does it all day and man he’s good at it! reminds me of how business people used to be,

    "Dont use these guys, we did and we regretted it. They transported a boat for us, it was supposed to be on a transporter, they towed it instead (we paid a much higher price to get it transported) then it was moved onto a truck using a forklift on two occasions during the trip. This damaged the boat and worried the life out of us for 2 days while they tried to defend themselves, telling us that we were misinformed and eventually they had to admit we were right. never again will we use them!"
    Clive Derbyshire responded:
    "Please review these facts and look at the clear majority of feedback from our customers and make your own judgement ... The seller gave the transporter the contact details of their local travel lift / forklift operator at their local boat yard to load their boat onto the transporter but after leaving a number of messages with him and contacting him he was unavailable to lift the boat onto the transporter when the transporter arrived . The Boat was booked onto the Ferry Approx 5 kms away in Picton so the driver elected to tow the boat on its trailer the short distance to enable it to get onto the ferry and to get to it\'s final destination on time. It was forklifted on and off the transporter on its trailer and in a cradle as most boats are which is normal practice and no damage was done to the boat. It was then transported the rest of its Journey over 500km to its final destination in Tauranga on its trailer . Furthermore when it arrived in Tauranga this person also proceeded to have a go at the driver who advised her he was not prepared to put up with her aggressive manner and would take the boat back to the main depot. Fortunatley she soon toned down her manner and the boat was safely delivered and was happy and invited the driver in for a cup of tea. At no stage was the driver / Transport company or ourselves were advised of any damage to the boat which was fully inspected on delivery. One would also ask why it has taken over a month to raise this issue now . In addition I had previously kept this person fully informed why their boat was towed the very short distance and offered a rebate in line with the short distance it was towed. 5km out of 500 + She also hung up in my ear when I looked to cover any of the claims she made. There are also several witnesses to her aggressive manner and claims which have been proved to date to be ill founded and if anything very unfair. Definetly a leading candidate for NO MORE COWGIRLS and future buyers or sellers beware "

    "Just lies - Car from Auckland to Masterton. 5 days later still havnt got the car. Was told delivery on Wednesday, car didnt turn up, called Capt transporter and it hadnt even left the depot in Auckland.

    Would never use again."

    "Always two sides to any story so here is what actually happened and you take in these facts and other feedbacks and draw your own conclusion. This vehicle was booked in on a Friday and when the transporter went out to pick it up on the same day the pick up contact had gone fishing so it was unable to be picked up and so missed the scheduled transporter that was going to take it down to Masterton the following day. Because of this missed pick up the vehicle was re organised to be picked up the following day and taken back to the depot in Auckland and rescheduled to go on another truck which was scheduled to go down to Marsterton on Wednesday but went down today and the vehicle is being delivered today. I trust this clarifies the situation and I have since contacted Rod and fully claried this with him as well Clive Derbyshire / Julie"

    "BEWARE OF CAPTAIN TRANSPORTER! 3rd parties are involved - this company hires other companies to transport vehicles. I bought a ute off trademe and had it transported from Auckland to Palmerston North. Firstly the ute arrived with bald back tyres after recently passing a VTNZ WOF- I was a bit concerned as the tyres cost over $250 each and I contaced the seller who said that the ute was raced down the road (basically going for a joyride) in a very unprofessional manner. After countless emails and… phonecalls I was told that there was 'no factual evidence' so they were not going to do anything about the bald tyres. They also tried to tell me that the driver found manuals hard to drive - what a joke! Who the hell employs drivers who cannot drive manual cars! And how on earth is that my problem ALSO - I was never contacted after paying Captian transporter - I had to follow up three times askng when the ute would be delivered. On my third call I was told that the ute was still in the Auckland depot and it would be deliverd the following day. 3 hours later the truck turns up when noone is home. Hmmm I find that very strange - Clive seems to run his mouth and goes on and on and on, but he really has no clue what is going on. It seems like he just hires other cheaper companies to do the work and takes the profit. He was very hard to talk to and extremely rude. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMMEND CAPTAIN TRANSPORTER TO ANYONE - AND WILL NEVER EVER SUE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN. I feel ripped off and I'm usually a very reasonable person but after hearing lots of stupid excuses from Clive (e.g QUOTE "even I would find a manual hard to drive so I might accidentally do wheelies too"). I'm sure he will comment below with a long list of EXCUSES. But definatly go with another company who actually employs their own drivers and uses their own trucks."

    "Kelly\'s accusations have now proved to be both false and deflamatory. The real facts and additional information that also needs to be taken into account for all the viewers are as follows : The vehicle in question was purchased on Trade me by Kelly’s boyfriend and Kelly organised the transportation on his behalf. Kelly is currently taking a case to trade me against the seller for misrepresentation which we believe is where her real grievance really lies. This was apparantley purchased without a personal inspection or independent qualified agency and no accurate assessment of the tyre depth levels had be established or given to us as requested which would be available on any prior WOF check. Kelly had relied on the sellers flatmates comments who she has never met, has a case against and who had not physically sighted the vehicle being driven up the road in a so called unprofessional manner. For the record we also have an actual witness on site with the driver who can testify that these accusations are incorrect. In addition there is recorded Video coverage and in house security coverage on hand to fully support this as they are a very professional company who we do the majority of our business with. The vehicle was actually driven out of their driveway and onto a nearby specialised truck only metres away and not taken off until it was inside their depot. Kelly also stated the purchaser rang a Steve at the transport company concerned and that this Steve confirmed the driver had driven up the road in an unprofessional manner. No Steve was spoken to or made such a statement from this transporting company concerned. It is of some real concern that we do have some “COWGIRLS” like KELLY that go to great lengths to discredit people or companys without any real evidence and base their claims on hearsay and what people they are in dispute with have said to her. Hopefully she may be better informed or do her homework next time. She is also very naive to think a leading Transport agency like a leading Travel agency would own all the airlines and planes they utilize and they are only use cheap and nasty unqualified suppliers. We are very proud of the services we and our very qualified suppliers give us and simply would ask any of our clients and site users to look at the vast majority of the feedback from our Web Site and this sites users and draw your own conclusion on who’s creditability is really on the line. "

    Your quote was slightly more than others, but I said to my wife, the

    Even though I wasn’t in the country Tony made the whole process very easy. He spoke with the local contacts directly to arrange the vehicle pick up and drop off. There was a deadline for pick up which was met no problem at all and the car was delivered quicker than what I expected.

    "My vehicle took over two weeks to arrive, I found it hard to get answers from them, and had to be the one chasing them up all the time, then when it did arrive it was missing parts off it, then i was told a rather skeptical scenario of the fact the parts had just fallen off the vehicle keeping in Mind this was a 60 year old vehicle that had never ever en-counted these problems in the previous 60 years, you draw you own conclusions on this but I think I know what really happened."
    Tony responded:
    "Interesting comments Kirk, let me answer them on a point by point basis. Nelson to Gisborne, yes normally takes at least two weeks, as you would have been told when you booked the job. Gisborne is one of thoses places that trucks don\'t go to unless there is a reasonably full load. No one sends a truck all the way to Gisborne with one car. I disagree that you found it hard to get answers from us, and as to have to be the one chasing us all the time, you sure were. Why would you keep asking us all the time when you were told that the transportation would take at least two weeks in the first place. To contact us every few days doesn\'t get the truck there any faster. We answered all of your calls professionally and politely, saying the same thing. When the van was booked on 12 June (not May as you say above), you sent an email on 13 June asking when it would be delivered, at that stage we emailed you back saying the van would be delivered mid to late the following week. It was. The missing part, singular, not parts as you say above, that was missing, I believe came off in transit. I think it should be mentioned here, that as you say, the van was 60 years old, it was also in shocking condition. When the van was in our Wellington depot, several of our men worked on it to get it running again so as it could be driven on the truck and not turn into a non drivable vehicle which would cost considerably more to you. You weren\'t charged for this. When the van was delivered to you, you even mentioned to the driver that you were very disappointed in the condition of the van and that the person that the van came from did not do a whole lot of work that he was meant to have done. Vehicles have to be in a fit condition for transportation when we pick them up, this includes holding together. The only way we can ensure that nothing falls off a vehicle, which in your case travelled just on 800 kms on the back of a truck, is to wrap it in gladwrap. I doubt that the van had travelled 800 kms for many many years in one trip. We sometimes get things wrong, but, when we do, we admit it and get them fixed. In your case we did everything right. I think that to write about us and rate us as you have above is a sad reflecxtion on yourself when the obvious reason I think, is that your van was in much worse condition than you expected, both mechanically and body wise."

    "Tony pulled out the stops for me I got a Honda cbx from new Plymouth to Nelson the bike got sent to the deport late from the owner so tony when the xtra for me and dropped it of at my work as soon as that got to Nelson at 530 pm in the rain and could and waiting for me to get the forklift we got the bike off by six captain transport go the xtra to make sure u get what u payed for and more.

    "I had 2 cars collected, one from Wellington and one from Otorohanga. First car was picked up with no communication to me. After i paid the money I received no communication from Captain Transport whatsoever..... I had to call after a few days to get an update and was spoken to very rudely, i was informed both my cars would arrive in the morning..... My wife called up and received the same rudeness the next day after not hearing anything about the cars..... She was then told that the 2 cars were… dropped off with nobody home, no phone call, no inspection and the keys were simply left in the mailbox........ Overall I have been left with a very disappointing experience with Captain Transport and good communication could have easily resolved everything."

    "Hi John, it all boils down to your last sentance, good communication could have easily resolved everything. I agree. New staff and new dispatchers should not affect you and should not be your problem. I have found out that your wife was rung and apoligised to, and an apology message was left on your phone. This is obviously not enough for you and unfortunatly this time we did not achieve perfection in the whole of the job. Bottom line is the reasons to apologise should not have arisen in the first place. We pride oursellves on communication, and as can be seen below, we usually rate very highly. The thing is we communicate differently than any other transport company and when you have people from the industry from other companies come in who aren\'t used to how we operate, the ball gets dropped sometimes. We train new people but old habits die hard. John I\'m sorry you feel that we let you down and you did not get the perfect service from us you expected and we always aim for. I wish you all the best."

    "Tony seems like a genuine man, and if he was the only person you dealt with, you might get good service But his staff let him down, they were unable to give a definite delivery time, which resulted in me having to spend 2 full days at home. The vehicle was delivered in the dark, so unable to be checked, and delivery driver unprofessional, did no ask for any ID or signing of paperwork and was unable to to put car in our driveway as he wasn\'t able to find it."

My decisions about buying older vehicles are sometimes a disaster but I can count on Captian Transporter to deliver the latest \'aquisition\' on time and in one piece.     "I recently had Captain Transporter move my sick Mazda Bongo van from Hamilton to Levin. Although drivable there was a problem with overheating and the battery. These problems didn\'t matter to Captain Transporter and the move went very smoothly. As a bonus their pricing was very fair and I considered it a bargain. I would highly recommend using Captain Transporter to anyone who is planning to move their vehicle."

    Thanks very much for the transport of my Corvette from Chch to Nelson. This is the first time I have sent a thank you note to a company as I am so pleased with the service you provided. We were kept in contact by the drivers all the way throughout the trip and the car even arrived early!! The price was competitive and worked out cheaper than collecting myself.
    I would definitly recommend your company and will ring you again when I find a Mustang!!

    "Captain Transporter....I had a rather large trailer to be relocated from the waikato to north canterbury. Got two quotes to compare services; one of which was provided by Tony from Captain transporter. During my clear and easy phone-conversations with Tony, I emphasised my condition that the trailer be move on a flatdeck rather than towed. and because that was guarantueed by CT, I hired CT to do the job. Although this mode of transport was more expensive than having the trailer towed, I… supplied photos from item to be moved and after a phone-conversation was convinced to do business with Tony. Got the invoice, paid the same day and we are under way...

    So, I hired Captain Transporter\'s services...Not so, as there are third parties involved, whom are the actual carriers... it turned into a bit of a headache: misunderstanding of communication, damage to trailer...(... by whom.......god knows... he says, she says.... I admit it he did it....), and as it turned out the agreed, and paid for, mode of transport was upheld for only part of the journey.

    It is a week, a dozen phonecalls and countless emails later; the damage to the trailer will be fixed, much appreciated negociated refund is received, Calm has returned and all is well in Transportland.

    Nobody is perfect; I Think I would use Tony again.

    As far as my ratings go: I appreciated your courteousy calls and honesty. Please convey the importance of that to the actual carriers too... you know a quick call goes a long way. Thank you very much Tony and Christine, and whomever positively contributed in this saga;

    to the faceless C#*t damaging vehicles: yes you... we all know whom you are: get another job!

    "I recently got an offroad motorbike shipped down from the top of the North Island to Wellington. I thought the keys had been taken in the process and the bike ridden (based on a few factors), turns out It was my stuff up. I ended up finding the keys. Anyway, they say a Trial is a good test of character - in this case a company\'s service and business ethics were tested. I dealt with Tony who rationally and patiently worked through the problem with me. On the assumption of Captain… Transporter\'s error Tony was quick to support covering my losses.

    "I first rang before I decided to use the service and talked to Tony and asked how long the service takes for Auckland to Christchurch. I was told 4 to 5 days from time of booking. Sweet I thought. I booked over the web on Sunday night. On Monday night I got a reply to say it was booked in and to pay to their bank account which I did straight away. I replied at the same time to say I had paid. I tried calling on Tuesday many times to enquire as to which day they would pick up the car. No one… ever anwered the phone. I called again on Wednesday and spoke to Cristina to ask when the car was going to be picked up. She was quite unhelpful and rude. The car was arranged to be picked up on Thursday, which they failed to do. It was subsequently picked up on Saturday. The pick up person relayed to me the the car should be delivered either the following Wednesday or Thursday. It did not arrive on Wednesday. On Thursday I rang and spoke to Tony to check when it would arrive. I was told Friday. This is Christmas eve. I explained that I would be at home on Friday and to deliver it there. IT IS NOW 6PM ON CHRISTMAS EVE. 10 WHOLE WORKING DAYS HAS PASSED SINCE I BOOKED IN MY CAR. I DON\'T HAVE MY CAR. WHERE IS MY CAR I DON\'T KNOW. WHY HAS NO ONE CALLED TO SAY THEY WON\'T MAKE IT WHY HAVE THEY NOT MADE IT

    I AM VERY VERY VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE BEEN HARD TO GET HOLD OF, THEY HAVE BEEN POOR AT COMUNICATING. CRISTINA LACKS SIMPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. THEY HAVE NOT DELIVERED ON TIME BY A LONG WAY. 4 TO 5 DAYS HAS TURNED INTO 12 AND COUNTING.

    Captain Transporter you have dropped the ball on this one. I will never use or recommend your services to any one. What should have been a simple operation has turned into a farce!    "

    "Well Vaughan. I\'ll answer the above on a step by step basis. Sometimes we get things wrong and we are the first to own up and apologise. In this case we did everything right. Firstly when you rang I would have said (as I say it many time a day) that the transportation takes 4 or 5 working days from Auckland to Christchurch from when we get the vehicle. This is a LOT different than as you say above, 4 or 5 working days from booking. I did a bit of homework on your posting above and spoke to Helen who the car came from, the Auckland dispatcher and the Christchurch dispatcher. We tried to pick the car up on Tuesday and couldn\'t as the time was not convenient for Helen. She was not available for the car to be picked up on Wednesday and SHE asked for the car to be picked up on Saturday, which we did. The car was never arranged to be picked up on Thursday as you say above. You spoke to me on Thursday, and after checking with the Christchurch dispatcher, I rang you back said the car would be delivered on Friday. As I said above, I spoke to the Christchurch dispatcher yesterday, he informs me that he had two trucks in Christchurch all day delivering vehicles to clear up before Christmas. He also is adamant that a message was left on your phone on Friday when you didn\'t answer it, to say the car can be delivered that day when you ring back. (We ring and speak to people before we deliver cars to make sure they will be home in case they have gone away or want the vehicle taken to a different address and also so that they can check the vehicles over when they are delivered). Now here is the interesting part, you rang back in reply to the Friday message, on Monday which was a public holiday, wanting your car to be delivered then. If you had checked your messages on Christmas Eve, you would have had your car for Christmas. As I first said Vaughan, if we get things wrong, and it does happen, we are the first to own up to it and fix things. In this instance, we did everything right. "

Tony made the whole thing easy, I didn\'t need to worry about booking ferry crossing etc, he looked after everything from start to finish, right down to car being parked in the carport on completion of delivery (my thanks to the truck driver).     "Easy to find on google. Great communication. Didnt like the driver of the contracted firm kicking our tow bar repeatly, for all it was worth to remove it because they wanted to squeeze another car onto their truck. When our car turned up to new owners address, it was covered in mud, as was our one when we received it in return. No follow up. Would I us them again No, when the new owner rings me and tells me, she could have cried, it says it all. Nothing against Captain transporter, but make… sure they dont use Auto Movements to ship your car!"

    "1. Seems strange that a driver would be kicking the towbar to squeeze another car on. The truck can carry a set number of cars and that\'s it. Another half a metre wouldn\'t make any difference to the fact, either there was another car space or there wasn\'t. 2. I guess when cars are transported on an open transporter in the weather we have had throughout the country over this winter, it is inevitable that the cars will end up with some dirt on them. 3. I\'m sorry we won\'t get any repeat business from you and I\'m sorry the car didn\'t arrive as clean as you would have liked. Tony."

    "Captain Transporter saved the day...............I was one click away from paying an alternative company when I found Captain Transporter.I found them just in time shame on you "Transpro" guess I wont be meeting you in court! Tony and Captain Transporter are a company who stand by there word.I purchased a car in Christchurch to be moved to Tauranga,I was amazed at how simple Tony made the transaction for me.Captain Transporter no there business and are highly reccomended by me they… delivered all the way in every way.

    "I can not thank Tony enough for what he did for me, My car broke down in Taupo and needed towing to Auckland. I used another company initally but after three weeks of broken promises and no action I had enough, I called Tony and Captain transporter came to the rescue. Tony went the extra mile, and kept me fully informed, car was pick up and delivered as promised.
    Thank you again and I can not recommend Tony and Captain transporter enough.    "
