    "Our car needed its annual WOF, and we wish we had first contacted Miramar Motors given our experience with other automotive services. Since one vendor had overcharged us $350 last year (double-charged WOF and charged $300 over panel beating quote), we decided to try a 'reputable' automotive vendor...After keeping our car 5 days, we were told that the estimate for repairs to get our WOF would be $1500, including 8 hrs labor, plus additional costs for several minor things and the WOF---and unfortunately we had also paid to service the vehicle. There were strange 'miscommunications' on the phone and when we called to pick up our fixed car, we discovered that they had not even ordered the parts so our car would be at the station over the weekend, and the WOF would expire. [Note: My father is a mechanic, and when I reached him to run by the damages---which had not been written out---he let me know that we were being taken - the part that they said was 'broken' was not something dire. The sluggish seatbelt and start of rust underneath sounded like things that were being used to ramp up the bill, and since we couldn't see the areas they talked about, we were likely getting cheated. My husband's brother works in the automotive industry, and advised us to "get our car back" because we were "being taken."] We asked around and were referred to Miramar Motors, and after reviewing the website, we called for an appointment for the following day. We took the car in first thing in the morning, 8am. By 2:30pm, we were notified that our vehicle had the WOF. There were a few minor things (bulb replacement, wiper cleaning), we were charged the cost of the WOF, .25 hr, labor, and bulb replacement -- about $92. We are thrilled and astounded with the professional service we received -- no strange excuses/delays, upfront bill written out with details of service/no hidden costs, efficient and straightforward labor costs, and respect for our time. MM did not know about the problems we experienced, and evaluated the vehicle as if we took it to them first. We felt that we were treated honestly, which is a huge relief, and we will be taking both our vehicles to MM first from now on!"

    "I have been taking my Honda Odyssey to Miramar Motors for years now and have been very happy with the service. Andrew always gives a very clear explanation of what the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it - often giving different pricing options for new/used parts etc. He also lets me know of any work he can see that might need to be done (e.g. brake pads wearing etc. etc.) in the near future, but is not currently urgent. I trust his advice and never feel that he is ripping me off or suggesting I get unnecessary work done. Thanks Andrew for looking after my Oddyssey for sooo long - I promise I will sell it sometime soon!"

    "What a joke! Said I needed all this work on my truck only to find out its just the brakes. . What I originally said it was.. beware of this shark!"

    "Hmmm ok, Lets put it straight then. You came in with a noise and said it went away on the way in and you thought it might be brakes, you left it to check which I did and told you yes it was brakes, one pad worn unevenly and almost to metal, I also made you aware that the rotors were near minimum thickness and that there was lots of steering free play, I then quoted to do this and you took the vehicle away, and I didn't charge you for the time we spent checking it! You have a rather strange interpretation of events Fono and I suspect that it'll be blatantly obvious by your rating in contrast to the previous 22 that the credibility of it is very questionable at best.     "Been looking around for a good mechanic for a while. These guys are great, booked us in a short notice. Job was for tightening alternator belt. We asked about checking the radiator - the replied that morning that a new radiator was needed. The got new radiator, installed it and stayed late to finish the job so I could have the car back same day for doing night shift. Very pleased with the quality of work and the attitude of these guys. Great garage and will be going back -hard to beat this kind of service!"

    "I have used Miramar Motors for many years. They have worked on my
    Rodeo, Rav, Mercedes and BMW. Mickey would have to be one of the "switched on" mechanics that does not have to consult a manual. I can book in at short notice, get a prompt and well priced job, sundry discounts on parts etc.. I can even use one of their cars and on the odd occasion have had a lift home. I can not think of any adverse comment. Wish there were more garages like this.

    "Found Andrew and Micky very informative with excellent communication skills.
    Very detailed in there estimated job cost and subsequent invoice that followed the completion of the job.

    The Actual final cost was below there estimated with a 10% discount on parts and labour.

    The work done for me was a complete brake overhaul which included new rotors and pads and transmission oil flush and replacement all completed within 24 hours of making contact, very impressive.

    I would not hesitate to recommend Miramar Motors to those seeking

    Automative repair work.

    Over all sum up..Excellent Service and repair work done

    "I\'ve used Miramar Motors for 15 years now, and trust these guys implicitly. We have two cars they maintain for us. One is a Merc 4x4 which I\'d stopped taking to Wellington Star Mercedes on account of the extortionate fees. So Andrew and his team now look after it and have done a great job. Same for our second car, a very small, unique micro-car. This little flea is getting on in years, and so sourcing parts is a problem... but not for these guys. Andrew always keeps me in the picture, provides options and charges fairly."

    "They are prompt and I can not fault their work. I have not had to clean off any grease etc. which is a common problem with many garages. Above all they understand the idea of appointments......arrange a time and the job will be done then, not like a big business that recently went bust.......bring it in and we will get round to it. Friendly advice about what may need doing in the near future. They look after 2 vehicles for me."

    "I had an issue with a worn clutch. I originally took the vehicle to Toyota service dept and quoted $1200GST for repair. thinking this was a bit expensive, plus having other issues with this repairer I took it to Miramar Motors....... Very happy with the explanation of what may need to be done, cost estimates and turn around time. Was given a repair cost and told the van would be off the road for a day or two. To cut a long story short, VERY HAPPY with the service I recieved, good communication and a nice surprise when the bill came in at less than expected. Thanks Guys!!"
