To keep this short, they refused to replace the two chandeliers and the bathroom light because they felt "unsafe" doing so. They even clarified that yes, legally they could do the work as a like-for-like replacement is permitted on older wiring (1930s house) but they didn't feel "comfortable" doing… it.
"They replaced the pendant lights and after three weeks of waiting for the downlights to arrive (standard downlights) they installed those because they are in the part of the house that has the most modern wiring.
After waiting another few weeks I rang to find out what was happening with the rangehood as I had been told it would be here in a few days. The response I got was that they had forgotten to order it. So finally a couple of weeks later it arrived and they came to install it. They got the main part up and said "oh - do you want it to go the ceiling?" - which of course I did as there was already an existing hole from the old rangehood that THEY removed! When I said I did they told me that they hadn't ordered an extension because the "shop doesn't like ordering extensions". They then told me they would get an extension made. Another few weeks later and they finally turned up with the extension. As they went to install it they discovered it was the wrong size and they blamed the metal workers for getting the measurements wrong.
And so another few weeks later the NEW extension finally arrived. They got it up and sadly the steel doesn't match the steel of the rangehood. But I give up - it has taken three months for them to install four downlights, three pendant lights, and one mismatched rangehood.
I received the bill this week: $2,500. Unbelievable. They constantly turned up HOURS late and when they did turn up they refused to do most of the work. And I am now expected to pay $2,500 for the privilege.
Basically, if your house existed before the 2000s look for another electrician because these guys are too scared to touch anything older.
In fact, to be on the safe side, avoid this company entirely - they will screw up, they won't turn up when they said, you will have to chase them to get them to turn up at all, and then they will charge like a wounded bull for an inferior job.
Incidentally - I called another electrician who arrived two days later and did all of the work that these guys refused to do and charged me a few hundred dollars for the lot.
