    "Stopped us buying a lemon. Basically the only thing right with the property were 3 of the walls. The roof needed replacing, ducks quest plumbing everywhere, floor uneven, one side of the cladding needed replacement. There was also suspicious electrical work in the roof suggesting something used to be grown up there!!"

    "Well I finally got around to posting my comment regarding Capital House Inspections.

    We thought we had found a wonderful house with a sea view at a great price in Whitby.

    When I first called, Ailsa offered lots of free advice, things to look out for etc.

    So we decided to use them for a full survey.

    Phil turned up on time, was very professional and thorough. He, fortunately for us, found the foundations were damaged which would have cost a considerable amount of money to… fix.

    Basically their company saved us from making a big mistake.

    "First time home buyer and so was pretty shaky about all the pre-purchase steps with little prior knowledge. Was really great to be able to speak to someone like Ailsa. She spent a whole hour on the phone with me on my initial phone call, to describe and explain all the different aspects of the house, internal, external and structure-related, that Capital House Inspections would examine and comment on. They were very prompt with arranging a time, and allowed me to visit near the end of the Stus… inspection of the house, and he took the time to go over everything with me, inside and out, answer questions, give me tips and elaborate on areas he would be covering in the written report. The written report was pretty thorough and very well explained; easy for a layman to follow, had photos, and was emailed to me promptly and posted too. Post visit service was also very good. Top quality professionalism and service."

    "I was thoroughly impressed with the service provided by Phil and Ailsa. Ailsa was a great first contact, and she walked me through exactly what they did and what I could expect, this being the purchase of my first home.

    My wife and I were encouraged to be there for the inspection which was fantastic for us, and Phil was more than happy to talk us through the entire house, as well as giving advice where asked on repairs /maintenance / potential improvements.

    They pride themselves on being a small family business giving personal attention to the sort of details a prospective home purchaser is concerned with. In this regard they delivered - in fact they exceeded my expectations in all ways. I would highly recommend them to anyone for outstanding customer… service and excellent value.

    Just one final comment on the detailed report they delivered within 24 hours This was no "tick the box" form report telling us what we knew already (the type of report we are becoming increasingly familiar with from over-charging "consultants"). Rather this was an attractive, detailed, custom written report, laced with illustrative photos to drive home the various points. It was a report that also included some detail on moisture readings and analysis - which competitors aoften charge a substantial premium for.

    Ailsa has very good communication skills superb organising skills, even though they are quite busy , she will always juggle around so she can find best time slots for everyone. Always always friendly and have the customers at heart. She also rang me up to check me up see how is everything going. Little things like that makes a huge difference in business.

    Phil is professional & detailed-orientated. He inspects every little… detail of the house, and he also uses his brain - What era is house what is this house built on What potential problem this type of house has Every house is different, that is what makes Phil’s experience and expertise so valuable. The report is always precise, easy to read and answer pretty much all your questions and doubts. I have always had a chat with him on the phone afterwards too, every single time he walks me through the report. so I know exactly what to expect.
