  "I've been using Ellerslie Automotive for WOFs and services for the last 5 years since moving to the area. I have been hugely impressed with the service they offer and would highly recommend them to others.

  They are often able to fit the car in at short notice, and Craig is fantastic at calling and explaining what work needs doing. The work is completed promptly and I have never had to go long without my car.

  The work is always done to a great standard - a friend who works as a mechanic… down south gave it two thumbs up when he last visited!
  
  The value for money is spot on, and they have always been great at saying what work needs doing urgently vs what can wait if I don't have the funds available for all the work suggested, and there's never any hard sell tactics."

  "Nice to have a local mechanic who you know you can rely on. I have been using these guys for the past 4 years and they have done a consistently great job, I have also referred friends their way who have been equally impressed with their service. Craig is a very personable, friendly guy who has always followed up with everything he said he would do and got back to me promptly to let me know what needs doing, and what the cost will be which I've always appreciated. Every time I am there they… always seem to be very busy, which to me indicates that they have a lot of very loyal customers, just like myself, I'll be back, but hopefully not too soon my cars running very nicely thanks to these guys."

  "These guys have been warranting and servicing my car for a couple of years now and in the past I have always been happy with the level of service and price. It is really handy leaving my car there and catching the train to work and everything taken care of. However the last time I booked my car in for a warrant they couldn\'t fit me in for three days. Ok. Then when I did take it in it needed a few things done but they couldn\'t fit it in until the following week. OK. A week later I ring to… chase up a quote for the work. Craig will ring me back. Two more fobbed off phone calls and three weeks later and I still don\'t even have a quote. I have now taken it to another place no problem and Craig hasn\'t even phoned me with a price. Unfortunately a friend has had the same experience here. Obviously they don\'t need the $800 worth of work. Don\'t bother coming here, they are too busy for you."

  "I\'ve been going to this place for over a decade I think. I\'ve never been disappointed, they have always phoned to quote me before doing any work and the work has always been top notch.
  I used to live in Ellerslie when I first started taking my vehicles there, I have since moved to Mt Albert, Avondale and now Henderson and I still take my vehicles there. It is hard to find a good mechanic and I have no intention of giving this one up in a hurry. "

  "I have nothing negative to say about this outfit. Busy day today with start of Easter, but when I called them for an urgent fluid and alternator belt check before I hit the road to Napier for 6 hours, Craig allowed me to come in this morning.
  Prompt service when I arrived, very polite receptionist. A workman (Jordan) was head in hood within 5 mins of arriving. Checked belt and suggested a service soon, but told me safe to travel still.
  Topped up the oil, sorted out the belt, good trouble… shooting, friendly guy. Expected Craig\'s demeanour and service to be inadequate based on some of the reviews here, but was pleasantly surprised at how efficient and friendly they were.
  
  Only charged me for the time used (15 mins) and for the oil topup. All round, very happy with the service. Will be going to these guys in future. Highly recommended."

  "Used Craig when i was having over heating issues in my car the problem got fixed which i thought at first was great and reasonably priced, However when i got the car back it was making a strange gurgling noise on the inside of the dash. I addressed this to Craig who glazed it over saying it was nothing of importance. 4 weeks later i notice the car over heating again and take it back in to find out what the problem is then Craig called me saying the head gaskets had blown and quoted me $4000 to… get it fixed. All round crap service and carelessness from their behalf. This should have been checked when i mentioned what was happening but Craig was more then happy to take $500 from me to do half a job in the first place when something gets fixed you expect it to be done properly. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. It was all round a very unfriendly service with all the mechanics with a negative \"dont wana be their attitude\"

  "Craig has a relaxed air about him, classic mechanic in a sense, but delivered the goods.
  Needed a WOF done on Friday morning, they said to call them before I went in to make sure it was ready but they called me first - nice pre-emptive communication.
  Better still, the previous WOF inspector (at another garage) said the rear brake shoes needed replacing at the next WOF, so I agreed in advance to have them replaced... Craig checked and found they didn\'t need doing so didn\'t replace them, said… they\'d be good for some time yet - money saved.
  
  Pretty happy all round."

  "The attitude from the moment I walked in was blase and uninterested, they took 10 minutes to get started when I was waiting for my WOF. They then failed my WOF due to a leak that didn\'t even exist, fortunately I went to an honest place who correctly advised me.
  In the end I got my WOF and the leak was not evident.
  Will not go back to these guys again, don\'t trust their work and their attitude was very unprofessional and unacceptable if they want customers."

  "Dropped my Freelander in after power steering fluid was spilling out of it and Craig got to it and gave me a coutesy car. Told me how much it would cost and was good to his word. Picked the car up next day all good. Highly recommended and very approachable."

  "I needed to get my brakes replaced and the time and money side of things was great. However, the quality of the new brake pads was crap and I had to take the car back three times to get replaced as they kept glazing the rotors. Now a year on, I have just found out that the brake pads they put on have completely glazed over the rotors and now everything has to be replaced in order to have front brakes that can pass a WOF. The communication was very poor over the matter and the fact that they… kept blaming us for the brakes glazing over really was not acceptable.
  
  They were good as we used to use them a lot, but now cant really trust them to provide a decent service."

  "Craig and the guys did a fantastic job on my car. I was given a courtesy car too, which was so convenient. Craig rang me up to let me know what needed to be done, gave me a cost break-down and let me choose which work I wanted done. Even though my car was in good knick and needed mainly a service, it still felt smoother and more responsive when I picked it up. I recommend Ellerslie Automotive to everyone!"

  "i absolutely recommend Craig and the guys at Ellerslie Automotive. Being a young female with a European car, I would normally walk into a garage facing yet another $400 service or a WOF with a huge list of problems, leaving my car for days at their garage. Craig always has a courtesy car for me, and has the job done quickly, usually within hours. He gives constant tabs on job progress and ensures you are well aware of the job cost. With tyres and parts he\'ll always offer a range of options… depending on budget. It\'s hard to find such good service these days. Huge thanks Craig and team!!"

  "My 92 Honda was making noises like a drag car, so I knew it was due for a service so I took it to my local garage Ellerslie Automotive. It was my first time using them, but I was impressed by the reviews I had read about them. And how accurate their reviews are. Craig kept me well informed all the way through the process with calls about quotes and time frames, and provided awesome pricing with a genuine understanding of my budget. They also gave my car a warrant, (which saves a lot of hassle,… let's be honest). My car now purrs like a kitten and I couldn't be happier. Thanks guys."

Im 100% satisfied with the job done with the accelerator pedal or my car. Tell you what I had 3 different mechanics who check this before but weren't unable to fix the problem as pedal was still stiffed, only charging us big time but work done wasn't good at all.   "I would highly reccomend Ellerslie Automotive, - they got the job done quickly, told me what the problem was before fixing it, only did the work that was needed, and when they made a mistake (scraped off my warrant sticker by accident) fixed it straight away by redoing my warrant, saving me a trip back to VTNZ!"

  "I needed a small repair on my car (I can't even remember what it was called), the price was really competitive and they recommended not bothering with getting a wheel balancing given the (ancient) age of the car- which was great, as a couple of other garages tried to upsell me, when I really just wanted the minimum done. Repair took exactly as long as they said it would (ready by mid afternoon that day)

  The guy looked at my WOF slip of paper(had also failed on a tyre) and offered to sell… me a tyre. When I said I was planning to put the spare on instead, he offered to put it on free of charge- which was great! and saved me the hassle of trying to change it myself.
  
  Would highly recommend!!"

  "Have been taking my car to John for years, he is the best mechanic I've ever used - he explains things clearly, does a great job, always on time - and most importantly for a mechanic - doesn't spin you c*ap about things you don't need. I couldn't recommend him highly enough!"

  "I have been using Ellerslie Automotive since 2002 and found them consistently good to deal with. Craig communicates very well. I needed the cambelt tightened just before xmas and they took care of the problem straight away for no charge. The one time I had an issue with their work they fixed the problem straight away with no charge and explained what had happened. They are a busy garage that delivers consistently. Our family has 3 cars and a trailer."
