    "geeks are not to be recommended. geeks could not reconfigure a simple internet connection setting. PC Direct took just 15 minutes to complete what geeks could not achieve in over 2 hours. In our case geeks were a total waste of time, effort and money. When asked for an explanation geeks management argued that their rep used 'reasonable care and skill', which is laughable. geeks' skill is their ability to extract payment for a non-service. PC Direct proved to be reliable, quick and cost… effective."

    "Semi knowledgeable staff, complete rip off in prices.
    I was going to buy a video card until the chap told me the price ($200), which I thought sounded expensive for a 512MB card.
    So I checked on my mobile & sure enough it was 100% MORE than it was selling for in a retail shop.
    Also the 'call out fee' is so over the top at $110 per hour

    Now I use a chap who is $30ph with a no fix no fee policy & yes he comes to my place"

    "The technician was a decent guy but failed to fix the issue. 27 minutes the next day on the phone to the Brother helpdesk did resolve the issue. When I finally heard back after complaining to the company the guy on the phone gave me a lot of platitudes about having talked to the technician but completely failed to address the issue of my paying $147.75 to not get the job done. He was rude, aggro and clearly not wanting to deal with the issue. Next stop the Commerce Commission"

    "Oh boy, what a fiasco.
    I worked for Geeks on Wheels and let me tell you something, the staff work very hard and try very hard. It\'s the management (Matthew Carr-Gomm) and his nutcase wannabe-leader wife that\'s the problem. His actions border on illegal, and it\'s only a matter of time before his shady tactics force Geeks on Wheels to go belly-up. I worked there for almost 2 years and I saw approximately 40% of the staff change. Once the staff see how low the pay is they leave - and fast! The… staff leave so quickly that they have a manager set aside for full time recruiting!

    The wages for the staff are supermarket-low, and they don\'t pay for stand-by time. I\'ve had several days where I stood by the phone in uniform and I didn\'t get any appointments that day. I earned $0 those days. I\'m not making it up! Most days I avaraged $60 to $90, and the hours were long, with hours of unpaid standby time inbetween jobs. I was lucky I could stay living with my parents or I\'d never afford rent on those kids wages. It was criminal.

    I\'m not scared of hard work, but Matthew carr-gomm pushed us all to the extreme to extend the job times, even when we fixed it within 30 minutes. \"There\'s always things you can do to extend the time to 1.5 hours, always!\" he said in every meeting.

    Geeks on Wheels also record EVERY SINGLE PHONE CALL you make, including staff. I\'ve heard the boss threaten ex-staff at least three times with \"I have recorded what you said!\". I\'ve heard him use it against customers too. Matthew carr gomm is a very dishonest British con artist. When I was there he wrote legal letters to avoid the claims court every single day.

    Geeks on Wheels is by far the worst company I\'ve ever worked for. I keep in contact with a few ex-staff, as all my old friends there have gone now to better things. They say how bad it\'s gotten.

    Avoid, avoid, avoid - I really mean it. Matthew Carr Gomm is a crook.

    Wherever you are, go with a small, local company instead.    "

    "I got geeks on wheels to come and have a look at my laptop a few years back because The internet stopped working on it suddenly and wanted it to work again.

    The woman from geeks on wheels came and couldn't figure out what was wrong.

    She said the bluetooth wasn't working and downloaded all the bluetooth software again. She still couldn't get the internet to work. (Turns out my laptop wasn't bluetooth was just wireless)

    So she re-booted my laptop. and left charging me 300 dollars. and… she didnt download all the software back on and internet STILL didn't work.

    Thanks for the rip off. After all these years i still remember this and am still angry about it.

    Was a blonde lady in auckland.

    She left without downloading all the software because the bill was already over 300. but still couldnt get my internet working and you could tell she knew she was ripping me off and felt bad.

    These guys charge over 100 for the first half an hour. would deff not recommend ANYONE to use geeks on wheels, and that would be why you don't see their cars in auckland anymore.

    "Fantastic service - from the call advising that they were running late, to the prompt diagnosis, repair and return of my PC. The guys kept me well informed as to the problems and the solution, and helped with a couple of other minor questions I had.

    Once the PC was repaired and returned, they ensured that it was set up correctly and even took the time to find the correct installations for my printer and camera. Would highly recommend."

    "I\'m thoroughly thrilled with the service I received from Marcus. Being somewhat technically retarded myself, he took the time to explain what was happening step by step in a language I could understand. I was somewhat hesitant to call and ask for a technician to come and help as previous experiences with computer techs had left a sour taste in my mouth, often the problem wasn\'t fixed properly and I forked out loads of cash. My experience with Geeks on wheels was most certainly a positive one,… yes the hourly rate is expensive, but I found Marcus to be very quick, reliable and thorough. His knowledge and standard of excellence was worth every dollar spent. He displayed honesty and integrity, at no time did I feel mislead, nor was I made to feel stupid. I will continue to use Geeks on Wheels for all my future needs and will reccommend your service to all of my friends and family.

    "The technician arrived 15 minutes late, had no explanation, and didn't call in advance to inform me of his late arrival. The work was completed but after spending a small fortune on over-priced parts and labour I later found out I'd have been better off to buy a new computer than to repair the one I had. I've recently heard the technician I had has taken on the role of head technician, if this is true I'm left wondering about the quality of the technicians beneath him."
