"We employed Phil to renovate our rental property, upgrading the kitchen , bathroom and damaged external cladding. (He had previously worked on our home). Phil’s attention to detail and finish is excellent. He discusses what needs to be done, and is mindful of budget, so there’s no surprises at the end.

"Phill removed an existing deck, replaced the subfloor and constructed a new deck. He did a great job. He has a very high standard of workmanship and the finished project was exactly what we wanted. "We initially found Phill on nocowboys website as we needed a house inspection on a 1940's state house. He gave us a good & honest understanding of the problems of the house and shortly after that we were successful in buying the house.
We then got busy with putting in plans to get the house renovated and wanted to add more rooms. Once we had completed the plans and approved by council we asked Phill to be our builder.
Phill started the renovations on our house in 2016. First he did… the garage conversion to sleep out with ensuite which he completed about March of 2017, then started the main renovation on the house in Oct of 2017. The whole house was renovated (opening the lounge and kitchen, redoing the bathroom, toilet and laundry) and we also added another 52 square meters to the front of the house. This took the main house from a 2 half bedrooms to 4 bedrooms and a single/office. He completed the work in October 2018.

Firstly we are very thankful to Phill & his wife for taking on this project. It was a big sacrifice to him and his family.

My brother in law gave Phill a nick name 1 mill Phill. Phill's desire for perfection, quality craftsmanship and a knowledge of council and building rules gave us an assurance that when the house is completed it will be standing for another 80 years within plus or minus 1 mill.

Phill’s work is 100% reliable, quality work, value for money and great communication.

We will forever be grateful to Phill and we recommend him as a top notch builder and also a great guy."

"I have used Phil from PM Building to do my deck, a shower, a toilet and a small kitchen in my primary residence, including choosing the accessories, tap ware, fittings, bench etc. for the kitchen, toilet and shower, which he was pretty good at and I was very pleased with the outcome; a classy stylish modern look achieved. I have booked him for upcoming work of erecting my double garage and a deck around my 45000 L pool. He's a genuine honest kiwi bloke who is extremely good at his trade.… Takes pride in his work, won't do a crap job. Liaises well with other tradies and has a knack for project management. I didn't have to provide much instruction or co-ordination to the plasterer, plumber, pool people, shower dome people, etc. because Phil took care of that for me. Good sense of humour. Not an idiot or a scammer. Says what he is going to do and does it. Reasonable quotes. Prompt communication & anything that pops up, he informed me straight away and collaborates. Good innovative thinker and strives to work to a budget. My only negative feedback, if there has to be any, is that Phil is highly sought after & his clients tend to hold on to him, so you have to accept his quotes pretty quick to book him for work."

"We have been very happy we took on Phil to do our deck and fix up our garage. He was conscientious of our wants for this job and we communicated easily with him on this. His workmanship is excellent and I was impressed when I saw him checking which side of a board looked better so that the better side was visible. The garage ended up being a lot more work than anticipated and he took this in his stride. He even continued working on our garage while we went away for a week. We felt comfortable… leaving him to it and every thing was in order when we returned.

His pricing was fair and any extra that occurred through the job was signed off by us so we new exactly what we were in for.

Phil ticked every box for us and we will definitely be looking to get him back for our future plans."

"We live on a lifestyle block with an older house, and have found Phil extremely reliable and versatile. He has done everything from repairing rotting door and window frames to repairing hardware, resizing and rehanging doors, repairing fences and installing gates, and many other jobs. He comes on time, is tidy and cleans up the site well, and itemises everything properly in his bills. "A very thorough job done recovering my car port with Softuf. Phill worked very hard to get the roof on before bad weather set in. Extra work added was recorded and all is very professionally done on the admin side. You may have to wait to get jobs done as he is in high demand. Phill worked on a statutory holiday to catch up. I can recommend PM Building if you want a good reliable polite person that you can trust. He was recommended to me by somebody else. "

"Phillip Martin is 100% reliable. He comes when he says he will and keeps the customer fully informed about work progress and his presence on site. He is also able to call in subcontractors as needed to maintain a steady and uninterrupted flow of progress, and the people he calls on are equally reliable. His work is of high quality. He can propose a range of useful solutions to building problems based on his experience and knowledge. There is very good attention to detail and foresight in… preventative measures for possible problems in the years after the work is completed. For example, when joining fascia boards he sealed the joins with undercoat and took every measure to prevent water penetration which could lead to rot some years down the track. Once his work is done and subcontractors have finished he calls to ensure all is complete and the customer is happy. His level of professionalism is rare, and a delight for the customer. He is polite and pleasant. I will not hesitate to call on his service again."

"Phill was very friendly and helpful when I first phoned him. As our requirement was an urgent repair, Phill was was willing to do our job at very short notice, working through into the late evening to ensure the repairs were completed by the following day. Phillip talked through the options we had and helped us make the best decision for the repairs, before proceeding to do the job without any delay. Once the repairs were completed Phill double-checked his work and made sure we were happy with… the finished job. "We were really impressed with Phil right from when he did a quote for us. His initial inspection was really thorough and he explained the work needed clearly. His quote was well laid out and clearly showed what we\'d be spending our money on.
When it came to doing the work Phil was excellent. He was punctual, flexible, polite and friendly and incredibly hard working. "Replaced a section of fascia board then stripped back and painted the existing board. I have high expectations and Phill did an excellent job. He obviously takes pride in his work and to obtain such a quality finish he obviously put effort into preparing the surface properly.
