Marketing is all about attracting new customers – so choose wisely

by | May 23, 2023

Whenever I explain what marketing is, I simplify it to its most basic element: marketing is the bridge that closes the gap between a business and the customers they want to attract. Today, there are numerous options and marketing businesses that promise remarkable results in drawing customers to your website (if you have one) or attracting contacts and leads. It is crucial to conduct thorough research to determine where your marketing budget should be allocated.

Undoubtedly, you may have already received cold calls from marketing companies offering clicks, leads, exposure, and packages claiming to outshine all others. My advice is to take your time, research them online before making any commitments, and ask yourself a few essential questions.

Firstly, if you are offered a specific number of clicks to your website, ask yourself, “What does a click mean?” A click does not guarantee a contact through a call, email, or text; it merely indicates that someone has clicked on your website. The real value lies in the contact itself, not just the clicks. Some marketing companies may try to convince you that the number of clicks carries more significance than it actually does. If you invest money and your phone remains silent, those clicks hold no value whatsoever.

The most crucial question to ask yourself is, “What do I want to achieve by investing my money in online marketing?” In reality, the answer is twofold: brand exposure and customer contact. You want your brand, including your business name and phone number, to have a strong online presence. Additionally, you want your online marketing efforts to generate valuable contacts from potential new customers.

Purely job leads sites will take a cut from your work, they do not leverage your branding, and their effectiveness varies depending on the volume of leads posted. Furthermore, you receive the same leads as many other businesses, leading to price competition and wasted invoicing hours.

NoCowboys offers a comprehensive branding platform that not only showcases your brand online but also attracts customers through your most valuable asset: your reputation. This is achieved through reviews from your past customers.

In other words, our platform, through the power of your reviews, diminishes the gap between you and the customers you desire. What we offer aligns with what they are actually seeking — an understanding of what it’s like to do business with you, based on the opinions and experiences of your previous customers.
