    "For Karl to be helpful and genuine, had some noise from my car identified as a transmission problem a week before Christmas, Karl squeezed it into a very busy schedule for us and got the job done, had some more noise after taking it for a long drive, rang Karl the day before Christmas and he met me at the work shop and fixed what turned out to be a completely unrelated issue for free.
    I would recommend.

    "Appalling service from Karl. Installed second hand parts without any consultation. Which then failed before I\'d even left the premises. Job took twice as long they said it would. No communication during the whole process except when I called for an update. Avoid."

    "This rating needs some explanation. Initially the customer service was fine. Easy access to a good quality courtesy car. However, communication was terrible. The initial quote for a complete trans rebuild (voluntary as it was a planned job, not an emergency breakdown) was $2,000-3,000 and loss of car for 4-5 working days.

    After this time and having had no communication from them, I rang to be told it was not ready and would take another 5 days. Still waiting on parts.

    After this time and no communication again I rang them to be told there was an issue with the speedo no longer working and that it would be ready around lunchtime the next day.

    Late in the afternoon (3pm ish) again not hearing from them I rang to be told it still wasn\'t ready and that they would ring me when it was. (Had the feeling they were annoyed at my calling them).

    Another 4 days later(!) finally recieve a call where the office person actually sounded a bit miffed that I hadn\'t picked up my car yet. I express surprise as noone had told me it was ready!

    Anyway, picked up the car to find the bill had crept up to $3500 with an outside electrical specialist needed to fix a \"wiring fault\" in the speedo which was working just fine when I took it in. Not sure what was going on there, but again there was no debrief from the mechanic upon pickup and just happy to finally have the car back after almost 3 weeks!

    The quality of the work will not be obvious for several years, but so far so good. No initial signs of trouble.

    UPDATE: After A Automotive read this review I recieved an admittance of dropping the ball customer service-wise and an apology from Karl. So I have upped the communication rating in light of this.
