Just to give an idea of the problems we have had. Twice we have arived and called the number that we are asked to call only to not get an answer. Thjs means we have to sit and wait for the first few hours of your holiday. Then the properties are… generally not cleaned to a high standard. Finally recently a few days after booking and over a month before we are due to arive we had to cancel a trip due to me breaking a rib and being told i will not be able to travel. There was no compassion at all. Actually i felt that they where overjoyed because they get to take $1500 from me for nothing.
Please take my warning. Having been in business for years i have a knack for seeing a bad egg. This company really are shocking and if you want a pleasant holiday do not take the risk.
The Bach was superb, a great location and ideal for our family group. I would recommend this to anyone travelling to Taupo and would not hesitate to book again.
"I really liked that that they had lots of… cutlery, more than just six plates, cups etc etc. There was plenty of cutlery and again everything you needed was supplied.
The view from the balcony was spectacular and we enjoyed our bbq's in the evening and sitting on the deck. All in all we had a fabulous stay here and the house was clean throughout, comfortable and we were more than happy with everything.
Lastly, thank you to Susan who was the Manager when we stayed. Susan was wonderful, friendly and easy to communicate with and we appreciated being able to check in earlier than 2pm. Thank you also to Bachcare, we were very impressed with your services from start to finish, excellent communication, easy payment system and everything went very smoothly. Thank you again.
When we arrived at the Bach in Martarangi, Coromandel - Kirsty was there to show us around and answer all our questions.

We wanted a bach which was pet friendly, and we found the perfect place on Bookabach. I made a booking request through bookabach and then got a reply directing me to the Bachcare website. We have used bookabach for years without an issue, but it was a completely different story with Bachcare.
First off, they wanted a $170 bond and up front payment with a credit card. I was uneasy about this, but we were running out of options so we went ahead… anyway. That was a big mistake.
The bach was great and we had a nice week, however when it came time to leave the bach manager turned nasty. She accused us of having our dogs inside. Our dogs had not been inside but she didn't want to know. She threw some linen out the door, pointed at some pet hair and said that needs to be washed and it's coming off your bond. We were dumbfounded as we knew our dogs had been kept outside the whole time. I apologised and agreed to pay for the linen to be washed. She said it would be about $50. We left feeling flat after a fantastic holiday. Our dogs had not been inside so the only explanation was dog hair had stuck to clothes, or towels outside and transferred to the linen inside.
2 days later I get an email saying bachcare have taken $120 out of our bond for cleaning. We were shocked and annoyed as we cleaned the bach from top to bottom to a very high standard. The experience left us with a bad taste in our mouth. I decided to do some searching on the web about bachcare then came across nomorecowboys.co.nz. People talked of having bachcare charging their credit card for various things without permission. I immediately put a stop on my credit card. It turned out to be a very good move, as things went from bad to worse.
About a week later I get an email saying the next guests refused to stay because they were hypersensitive to pets and knew dogs had been there before them, so refused to stay. Bachcare allege they had to find them alternative accommodation, and want payment of $1150 from me, or $950 if I paid within 2 days.
Needless to say, I told them exactly where to go. I am still getting phone calls and emails from them, so my bachcare experience is still not over yet.
Avoid Bachcare at all costs especially if you are booking a pet friendly bach.
However, Charging 1300$ for booking and bond before CONFIRMATION and then not communicating promptly, Hows that professional
Lack customer service and need some major rewamping done on their website. Web allows you to book but unprofessional agents on the other line do not know what to do.
Not only… does the owner of the property loose business but also bachcare is sending out the wrong message in the market. Comapre it to holiday houses and book a bach atleast these businesses understand their customers !
Shame on you BACHCARE!
