"Colin came to us to prepare and repaint the sun-damaged fascia boards and carport posts of our house and garage, as well as sanding back our Lockwood bathroom and giving it a fresh coat of polyurethane. The bathroom, previously used by an elderly and disabled parent, had a fair amount of surface damage but now looks really great. We'll be getting Colin back next year for more work inside the house. "Colin came to dig a trench so that we could get our mains water supply pipe replaced. Plumber was chuffed that he did such a good job and saved him so much time. Colin then helped me re-do the front of the garden in light of that exercise so now we have a much nicer looking front or will do once the grass seed springs into life! "Colin installed a large custom wardrobe (three sliding doors and a three-level shelving rack) for me in an area of the house that needed a lot of adjustment in order to fit right. He built the shelving and also put in new flooring, Gib and did the plastering. Great to have a single person able to do it all. Kept the site tidy and was very friendly. "Very happy with the work that Colin carried out on our driveway. He met with me a few weeks prior to the work to discuss the scope and followed up promptly with a quote, which was accepted.
On the day the work was to be carried out, Colin had difficulty with traffic to get across the city, but kept in constant contact as to arrival time.

"If you are looking for a quick fix, short cut job this man is not for you...but if you want a tradesman- like job from a skilled worker he is your man.We employed him to do several jobs, replacing a deck, putting in a retaining wall and hand rail, renewing window frames and flashings, re-lining a shower etc. and he has done very acceptable work with cheerful good humour and made excellent suggestions to our work requirements that have allowed the work to be done more efficiently.To keep our… costs down he had me as his part-time labourer and his all round skills were very evident as we tackled each job...I'm not a total "bunny" having done a fair bit of building myself, but Colin is very much the master of multi-skills and it was a pleasure to work alongside him. He is not the cheapest builder, but is honest and fair in his pricing,and we would not hesitate to call on him again when we have work in the future.......but be warned, he likes good coffee and plenty of it...."

"Colin did do an overall good job on refurbishing my roof over a period of a couple of months. One day after the job was completed the roof leaked, which it hadn\'t done before. I then noticed an internal beam was slightly split. Colin promptly fixed the leak, but over three months later I am still waiting for him to come and finish priming the sealant and finish painting it, so I will do this myself."

"I enlisted Colin's services to perform an inspection of pilings and foundations of a century old dwelling, I had put an offer on.
From the outset Colin was accommodating, knowledgeable and willing to provide advice based on his experience with old houses. He provided very sound advice and detailed description of what happens to old foundations that can result in a house needing to be jacked up and re-piled.
Given the time of year (November) there is a rush of work on due to end of year… holiday period. Despite this, Colin shifted his schedule around, in order to perform the inspection urgently.

"I got Colin to repair the bargeboard over the carport. It had rotted away due to water running down from a faulty flashing from when the house was originally built. Colin displayed great attention to detail. He fixed the bargeboard and also made sure it wouldn't happen again in the future. He spent time getting it just right, and also explained to me what he was doing (which was great since I am not a tradesperson)."

"We found Colin via this website and were very happy with his work. We were doing up a bathroom and kitchen at a rental and needed a qualified builder to complete certain parts of the job. He was enthusiastic and helpful all the way through the project, fitting in with our demanding timetable (working through Easter while we were away to keep the project on time). "We found CN Builders in the listings in the local paper - and we were really happy with the result. Colin was great to work with - very responsive to our budget by trying to get us a good deal on a skylight, and keep costs down while doing a quality job. We had leaks in our roof that had plagued us for years, and had been ripped off by another company (Complete Roofing Services in case you're wondering!) Colin fixed all the leaks - popped back after big rainfalls to check everything was dry.… We would definitely recommend CN Builders and we plan to use them again."

"We used Collin 2 times already. First time he plastered walls and ceiling of our large living area. We are very pleased with quality of work, Collin took great care to make sure we are happy with the end result. Collin has experience in all aspects of building and renovating, he is always offering good advise. We used him recently when we needed urgent help with plastering and painting, and he was able to help and did a great job on a very short notice."

"Colin has done a lot of work on my house in the last 10 years, starting with fixing a lot of poorly fitting windows, then totally renovating the bathroom, and building a fence. "COLIN IS THE BEST! He is the most genuine, kindhearted man. He has that XFACTOR that is very rare nowadays. I had a hole in my wall that needed urgent attention (I did try to DIY it myself, but made it worse). I googled ‘plasterer, wellington’ and came up with a list and read a lot of reviews and was drawn to all the positive experiences that people had with Colin so I decided to call him on a Saturday night (9.30pm) and he was so helpful and just made me feel like my ‘impossible’… could be fixed. He gave us an estimate (which was such a good price) on Monday morning and said he would be there by 1.15pm (he was 5mins early yay!). He listened carefully and offered us the best advice, explained what he would do and got onto the job straight away. He was so professional but added that extra touch that made dealing with him so easy. He even sanded and painted an extra wall in the hallway at no extra cost and when we came home later that evening the hole in the wall was patched up and not even noticeable and the wall in the hallway looked brand new! We were soooo happy with Colin’s work and I felt so relieved that everything was done so perfectly! I still can’t believe how good both walls look and we are so grateful for the hard work Colin put into plastering, sanding and painting our walls. He went the extra mile in providing the best service, he really does care about people and he is definitely passionate about what he does. He is truly my angel! I have/will be recommending him to everyone I know! If you have ANYTHING you need done in your home look no further – COLIN IS NUMBER ONE! I GIVE HIM 10 STARS!!!!!"

The land lord arranged him to come and do this and did a fantastic job in a timely manner.

"I had Colin come in to replace the flooring in my kitchen, and he did an outstanding job - along with this, he'd identified an issue with water tightness of the exterior of the kitchen and fixed that also. He managed to also save me some money by carefully lifting the lino floor covering in the kitchen and re-laying it afterwards.
Colin was a pleasure to deal with, and CN Builders will be my first port of call for all future work!"

"I have used Colin on two projects.The first was on an old cottage,completely replacing the back wall.Weatherboards,framing and internal work.The second job was similar on a much newer house,but included a complete internal frame up.Also half the roof was replaced and internal gib board installed.
I found Colin\'s workmanship and communication skills excellent. He is well suited to repairs and alterations,tieing in seamlessly the old and new work.
I would definatly reccomend him and use… him again if the need arose."

"As I live in Auckland, it is important to have someone I trust to carry out maintenance on my Wellington rental property. I have always found Colin very helpful, contactable and there are no surprises. Colin gives updates as needed but mainly he just gets on with the job and the main thing is he sees the job through in a timely manner. Colin exceeds what most builders would do. I really appreciate that as it is time consuming for me to find competent and reliable trades people. An example of… exceeding my expectations was getting a quote on a suitable stove top for my flat from Noel Leeming, picking it up, and then installing it and arranging the electrician to wire up.
