"Needed a new wheel bearing. The mechanic asked if I wanted a price and I said yes, he told me $414. When I picked up the car, the price was $111 more expensive than quoted. The quote did not apparently include the price of the labour or GST. I complained about this and the mechanic said sorry that I misunderstood him and that it was the price of the part only. Why would I only want to know the price of the part? And why not be honest and explicit that it was for the part only. Seems to be more deceitful than a misunderstanding of my fault. I won’t be visiting again."

I totally trusted their advice about my vehicle, and I really appreciated their calm response to my SOS calls/questions for advice, in the last couple of weeks when I had a couple of 'glitches' with my car motor. Susan and Mike appreciate that I need my vehicle for work and for regular visits to my elderly mother and they 'went the extra mile' to ensure my vehicle was 'good to go' as soon as possible. "Asked Cameron's to replace front suspension bushes at top of suspension. Job was completed satisfactorily. Drove vehicle from Warkworth to bottom of Bombay Hills on way to Hamilton. Had to terminate trip as the vehicle lost all braking capability. Had to get repaired in the area of break down. Found hydraulic line to front brakes had a big tear in it causing loss of brake fluid. Tear was at point where suspension could have pieced the line while doing repair. The brake line was in perfectly good condition and had no reason to fail apart from careless force applied to it. A life threatening situation was created by Cameron's staff. When asked about what Cameron's were going to do to rectify situation, management wanted to deny all knowledge of problem. They weren't interested in talking further on matter blaming problem on perished brake line. Couldn't be bothered with dealing with them any more and haven't used their services since. Used to get all our vehicles repaired there but not now. Something as important as this situation one would have thought would have been of great concern to them to deal with properly as part of their QA system. However, it would seem not. As a customer, I have made my choice. I hope they don't repeat for another customer and end up injuring someone."

"Took my vehicle for the first time to Cameron\'s today for a service. Totally happy to support local business but after the unprofessional way they acted i will never return to these guys. They phoned me and made comment on my warrant being out and my Road user chargers and also that the tyres I had on the vehicle that \"they\" thought were too big. I told them to please just do the serivce as i had my vehicle booked in for warrent else ware. They might find this hard to understand but these things are NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. Totally happy for them to inform me but unless they are asked to check my vehicle over im not quite sure why they do it. Probably to drum up more work for themselves at a guess. I was only there for a service NOTHING ELSE. Then later that day when I took my truck to get a warrant at another service centre and they put it up on the hoist I was horrified to see Cameron\'s had written across my chassis in huge writing \"Who\'s giving warrant\'s to this guy with these tyres\" What a Totally unprofessional thing to do. I have had numerous warrant\'s from different garages over the past 6 years with the exact same size tyres and had No issues. i have even had larger tyres on some years with no issues. My truck is a Isuzu D Max and has always flown through warrents. These guys need to stick to what they are asked to do. This was Not a safety issue. There is Nothing unsafe with My vehicle. My tyres were only a week old and completely legal.. And yes I flew through my warrent as usual. To actually write on someone\'s vehicle like that is incredibly unprofessional. Such a shame some idiot thought this was a smart thing to do. I will not recommend these people to anyone."

"Cameron Auto Services genuinely came to the rescue. My car failed a warrant of fitness at the neighbouring vehicle testing station, then I got an assessment and quote at another local garage (who incorrectly diagnosed the problem), got a quote but they wouldn't complete the work. Cameron Auto Services, however, diagnosed the fault correctly, gave me a detailed quote, lent me a courtesy car, and completely the work quickly and under budget. I recommend Cameron Auto Services to everyone I know who needs work done on their auto. After some real nightmares with other local mechanics, Cameron Auto Services restored my faith in the profession."
