"Pierce and his team are just fantastic! I have been using them for a number of years. They are fast, friendly and reliable. They also go the extra mile, for example they even replaced one of my brake light bulbs for free. I would recommend their service without a hesitation.

"Cheap job for a cheap price. Towbar seems strong enough, but the wiring almost destroyed my cars computers. Took car to Auckland from Wellington to pickup a brand new trailer. When I plugged the trailer plug in, the tailights wouldnt work on the trailer, the car wouldn\'t turn off, and a number of warning lights came up on the dash. Took car & trailer to an auto electrician in Auckland, trailer tested fine, car was wired with sub-standard \'Trailer Interface\' box which blew as soon as I plugged the trailer plug into the car, the wiring itself was too smaller guage, and the wiring connectors looked like they were from the \'$2 Shop\'. After 3 1/2 hours at the Auckland Auto Electrician, they had to replace ALL that was fitted by \'East Coast Towbars\', at a cost of $322. The Auto Electrician said if I had of travelled to Wellington with the trailer connected to the wiring that was fitted, it would have blown my cars computers, and I would have been up for Thousands of dollars in electrical repairs. I emailed \'East Coast Towbars\' about the problem early December about the problem, no reply. \'Consumer Tribunal\' is next..."

"Having been in the role of New Vehicle sales manager at City Nissan for six years, I have always been rapped with the service and quality of their work.
The reason they do not have a cafe and lounge area is because it keeps the cost down which can be passed onto the client.

These guys towbars are as strong as many factory examples at sometimes a 1/4 of the cost.

    Very well run company"

"Large amount of Black overspray on my White bumper, where the towbar had been painted while on the vehicle.
Tow ball left finger tight, the spring washer wasn\'t even compressed at all.

"I had a mixed experience with east coast towbars... I\'ll start with the good stuff. The towbar itself was constructed out of think steel was custom fitted to my model of car. The towbar itself is very strong and the welds done were proffesional and made me feel comfortable towing a heavy load with it. Their price, was great. Paid cash, no receipt but no tax :) The head mechanic there was well into his groove and knew what he was doing. The bad: When I left and got halfway home I noticed both flashers would work simultaniously, returned but it was a friday afternoon and so the shop had closed, I needed to tow my trailer that weekend so I returned home. When I tried to restart my car it was dead, a protection fuse for my ECU had blown so I ripped out all their wiring and discovered that the problem was that the trailer wire had been wrapped around a bolt they had reinstalled the bumper and had shorted and grounded. I rewired the harness at my expense (50$) and all was good. I think it was an honest mistake and would still have recomended them until I saw the many scratches on each side of the back of the car from where they had tryed to get my bumpr back on and let it rub against the sides of the car leaving about a dozen scratches. I have high end car, and it looks bad now cause some of them are down to the primer. I gotta say though, the towbar is awesome! Perhaps they could be a little more cautious with their work, and get a waiting room cause walking around in the rain from cafe to cafe for 4 hours wasn\'t cool."
