    "I took my old Hilux into Gary and asked for the clutch and brakes to be renewed. Gary rang to advise the cost prior to the work being undertaken . I thought the price was incredibly reasonable. I asked Gary did he know anyone who repaired car seats as the drivers seat was worn. He said leave it to me and he had it done overnight. I required a new set of tyres as the old ones were really worn out . I couldn’t believe how cheap they were. When I came to pick up the car , Gary suggested I take it for a drive. What a difference !! Gary couldn’t do enough for me . I would recommend this company to anyone requiring great service and honesty. He offered me a courtesy car but I didn’t need it. I will be telling all my friends about this company."

    "I took my car for WOF and ended with more problems.
    I paid more than double what was to be a price of NZD. 55.00 for WOF.
    I was informed the lights were too bright and required adjustment.
    Like any layperson, I believed what I was advised.
    That night I realized I had serious visibility problem.
    I took the time to go back a day later and seek help but I was treated to a shouting match by the mechanic who attended to my car. It was horrible. Never experienced a case of that nature in Auckland or any third world country. No respect for customer concerns.

    The technician was very rude and treated me to name-calling under the watch of all his colleagues and none stopped him.

    I left for Onehunga Selwyn Street and had my headlight checked by another Mechanical service. It turned out my headlights were wrongly adjusted with disregard for manufacturer's advice on measurement.

    The Mechanic at Onehunga was very respectful. He examined and showed me on the scale of measurement what he found as low. He then adjusted it to the correct measurement as prescribed.

    It's sad that the Mechanic at Gary Prohm Automotive in Royal Oak could not own up to his limitations but was very defensive and threatening to cancel by WOF if he reviewed the measurements of the headlights. He asked me why I could not apply full beam lights instead. Where in the city to do you drive around with full beam lights on?

    Anyone considering going there should rethink in case they meet this same Technician

    "OK so we wouldnt normally make a comment on a business but feel we need to. We took our car to Gary Prohm once for a service then a follow up as there was an issue with the handling and possibly gearbox, My wife came in to pick up the car later in the day and was told they couldnt solve the problem and needed more time. Gary was extremly rude to her in person and was blaming her for picking the car up before the end of the day ( even though she had booked pick up it for that time ) . Then he hands her a bill for $180 for looking at the car. He also wrote the car needed new rear bushes to fix the handling at $300 and there were some loose bolts in the rear. . So we took the car to another garage for a second opinion and were informed that the bushes had been replaced recently and looked brand new. They also tightened the bolts - why didnt Prhom Automotive do this if they had identified this as an issue ? Sorry but a complete Scammer. Never going back. My advice is to always get a second quote if using this guy."

    "Went there on Saturday very poor service from a women who quite clearing had no idea about anything ! Was overcharged for my service , got oil leak and aa said oil filter was not fitted correctly ! True cowboys , will tell everyone I no not to trust these cowboys "

    "As a first time customer I came in this morning to have my car rear brakes replaced at 9am. I have nothing but praise for Gary and his team especially for their honesty, sound advice, fast service, efficiency, hard work and transparency. On top of that a sense of humour and, most of all their work ethics. Glenn serviced my car brakes and, when I asked him if he could check my front bumper as well that was a little loose when I arrived, he tightened it without charging. Roechelle at reception was lovely and ensured everything went well i.e. from an estimated quote done on the brakes (which was bang on) when I called last Tuesday to scheduling my appointment and giving a courtesy car. My car was ready for pick within 3 hours. Gary also provided helpful advice regarding my car before I left. To cut a long story short, had I gone to a place where I usually service my car the quote was $380 as a starting rate for the brakes and the loose front bumper was $50-100. $480 all up, it's not hard to figure the maths .The price I paid for today was a lot less and very reasonable. I highly recommend Gary and his team for any service requirements your car needs and if you're unsure just ask them or, pop in. They're a very friendly bunch, down to earth people with a cost effective service. Thank you guys, I'm very grateful and will highly recommend you to others."

    "NEVER in my lifetime as a consumer have I entered an establishment where every worker seemed so displeased to have my business. After paying more than DOUBLE what most Automotive businesses charge for a WOF we were quoted $200 for 2 rear tyres and they did not seem happy at all that we wished to purchase cheaper tyres somewhere else. Nevertheless, they informed us that we could return after getting the new tires and that they would just chuck on the WOF sticker. After returning to Gary Prohm automotive with brand new tires purchased for much less than their quoted price we waited for about 15-20 minutes for "the guys" to finish the tea they were apparently drinking so that one of them could put a sticker on our car. After all that 'prep work' was done we followed an employee to our car from the waiting room, he put the sticker on the car in a second and walked off without saying a word. We guessed this was the conclusion of our business and left.

    Only go here if you are after a bizarre experience where everyone treats you with disdain for no apparent reason.

    "Hi, I have given my car to get serviced and a wof. The service was pretty sub standard and no recommendations were provided on the parts that need to be replaced. Like in short term and long term. My present garage Bridgestone Parnell does an amazing job in educating me what is required to be done in the next 3-4 months and what needs to be done in a year\'s time. And then the WOF was failed due to something in brake without even discussing. It was a minor change and the garage person should recommend what should be changed to be safe on road. Very happy with my current one."

    "Gary has been looking after me for about 8 - 10 years now.

    I riley on his advice and expertise to safe guard my family and keep our two cars running in a safe and reliable manner.

    Both Gary and Glen are true gentleman, they do exactly what they say they will do when the say they will do it and often deliver that little bit more than you expect.

    I cant say enough about theses guys, there just G R E A T.

    I wholeheartedly recommend Gary Prohm Automotive Ltd to anyone looking for an automotive repairer. Just give them a try, you wont be disappointed.
