"Please avoid them, even if you are desperate (as I was!). H2O responded very promptly to a callout on 30 Dec. I had read the reviews but they were the only drainage oncall that could respond before New Year as it was emergency callout over the Xmas NY period - and I needed the job fixed asap as nothing was draining away in the house. The contractor arrived as promised. He put machinery into the pipes and it sounded like the pipes were about to disengage from the house - I saw him sprint fast at it's loudest point and turn the machinery off. The next day nothing was draining again. I managed to get a different drainage expert in to clear the pipes. He could not understand why H2O would use the machinery it did or why they hadn't managed to clear the pipes. A few weeks later I noticed the guest toilet seemed to be leaking when it was flushed (it's only flushed about once a week) so I got another plumber in. When he removed the toilet to check it out the ceramic of the toilet just below the bowl was busted up - done by machinery used by H20. The plumber couldn't believe it. I contacted H2O and asked them to consider reimbursing me the cost of getting a new toilet, attached photos and I mentioned it's not the mistake that matters it's how businesses fix the mistakes that I care about and I like to support small businesses, no response. I followed up a few more times, the manager, Alastair, eventually returned my call and asked me to call him. He never returned any of my calls. I managed to catch him twice and each time he was polite but said he was heading into a meeting and he would call me back. He never has. Eventually I texted him asking if he didn't want to speak to me would he please at least text me to advise whether he was considering reimbursement or not. No reply. Finally I emailed again, no response. In my last email said I was disappointed and hoped no other customer would have to go through my experience and that I had no choice but to go to small claims court - as the replacement cost $1,000 labour and new toilet cost."

"Through a Plumber H20 came to inspect the drainage the first inspection located the fault in the storm water in no time, a little off the mark. Once the break was repaired it was clear their was another fault.
It was clear once they were on the property they wanted to quickly move on to the next job, so had to be called back to inspect it properly.
They makes the spot and informed our Plumber the fault was 2.2 meters deep which was a bit strange.
Luckily I was able to get a 5 tonn digger from work. A concrete pad had to be removed and once we got to the depth realized that they were off the mark again, this time by a long way.

The cost of replacing the concrete pad without my time was approximately $450.

If I had to get a contractor in it would have been around the 3k mark.

I have called Alistair 4 times spoke to him once after a quick brush off and a promise that he would call me back I haven't heard from him again.

Unfortunately I have to say he has no ethic or has no intention to put thing right.

I would not recommend useing H2O to anyone.

As they say it's the putting right that counts.

"Excellent business, very professional service. I needed a drainage review on my property to ensure we could rule our drainage as an issue. They liaised well and did a CCTV review of our main drains (sewage and storm water) about 10 days after I initially contacted them. The communication was good, but could have been more proactive so I didn't have to ask for an update -- they used the usual excuse that things are really busy right now. I suppose they would be in Wellington's stormy spring weather. The result of their work was a report and a set of videos .... posted on Youtube! Fantastic.

Now, of course, I need a plumber to fix some of the issues they found :-)
