"We engaged Kieran and team to paint the exterior of our working-man’s cottage built in the 1910s. The team, Kieran, Chris (x2), Andrew, and Tyler, were friendly and considerate, working within our schedule. They were very health and safety conscious, particularly when stripping the lead paint. They used groundsheets and troughs and were very diligent in removing all debris. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the site before finishing. Kieran’s team had their own scaffolding which was factored into the quote, as well a builder on-call. This was invaluable as the two teams co-ordinated to strip the house, identify rot and replace weatherboards, remove the brick chimney and re-rivet the roof. The builders – Frank Braahuis Builders – were exceptional. We were fortunate to be able to work-from-home as the painting team worked. It was very good to see the more experienced members of the team passing on their knowledge to the apprentice painter Tyler. The team really worked hard during the days and took real pride in their work. This was noted by passing people on the street who often commented on their workmanship and commitment to detail. Kieran was also proactive in suggesting the removal of the chimney and re-riveting of the roof – things we hadn’t initially considered but are very grateful for having done. Overall, the key qualities we found are: commitment to a thorough preparation and finish, a strong commitment to health, safety and the environment, passing on knowledge to newer members of the team, their own scaffolding and a builder on-call. Out of four quotes we got for the work, Kieran’s wasn’t the cheapest, but the quality of the work and its longevity have made it money well spent."

"We are delighted with the work completed by Kieran and his friendly team – Chris, Andrew & G – to repaint our two-storey home in Tawa. Kieran has a wealth of experience and offered us great advice. The weatherboards were completely stripped, remedial work completed and then a full repaint.
One of the advantages of working with Kieran is he has his own scaffolding which was erected quickly and safely. He has also invested in great vacuum-sanding equipment so the mess for such a huge job has been negligible. And “Stacey the Stripper” machine deserves an honourable mention.
Kieran coordinated the services of a builder (who replaced boards, added corner boards and rebuilt some steps), a colour consultant who guided us with our colour choice and a glazier who replaced our conservatory roof. It made the whole process very easy and stress free.
Next job is getting the team back to paint the soon-to-be re-clad garage in 2023 and we are looking forward to working with you again.

Our company has had an association for over a decade and this latest full repair and paint of our apartment block was efficiently achieved in 5 weeks. Vertex, his recommended scaffolders- installed and de-installed to a high standard. The building was washed and the hard-working painters finished the building, carports and roof in 5 weeks, as agreed. KKM Health & Safety policy is comprehensive (I read it all, over 40 pages!) and his co-operation with the sub-contractor, good. "This is a tough review to write because Kieran has a reputation for doing good work and he is a very nice guy. Unfortunately the painter he used to do the interior of our house was very totally unskilled and made a mess of almost every surface he painted. There were runs in the paint, parts he missed, bits of the previous colour of paint from a poorly washed brush, paint on the carpet, paint on our wooden floors, paint that has started peeling off the wall and paint on our new double glazed windows. Kieran came and inspected the work after I complained and I felt like he was dismissive of the problems, just saying "don't worry I'll fix it" but also giving excuses about the age of the windows frames. He did come and personally clean the worst of the paint off the carpet and he sanded some paint runs in the middle of a large white wall then repainted the patch, but now in daylight, the patch almost looks worse than the paint runs. I didn't get him to come back because I was so angry about the poor work and the patch up job. In fairness to Kieran, I haven't given him a chance to come back again and properly fix his employee's work, but the reality of the situation is that the previous guys work needs to all be sanded back and the entire job done again and I just can't bring myself to pick up the phone and start that process all over again. It just makes my blood boil every time I look at one of the surfaces they painted."

"The exterior of my weatherboard house had not been painted for 37 years. Kieran Kelly’s team were very thorough in their preparation for re-painting, removing the old paint right back to the wood. They were also very meticulous when painting, taking care to protect the windows. The finish is of a very high standard. The quote for this work was the highest of the three I received, but I consider it value for money because of the quality of the work, the professionalism of the company, and the security of membership of Master Painters’ New Zealand."

"We asked Kieran to paint the inside of mum and dad's place. Craig and Chris did the work over 3 separate visits and were great. Mum can be a little anxious with people but had absolutely no problem with Craig and Chris and was very relaxed with them in the house. The quality of their work is excellent and they tidy up perfectly as well. Totally recommend them. Thanks guys."

"I asked Kieran to quote for painting the entire interior of the house (2 stories). He asked whether I was thinking of replacing the kitchen, since it looked 'tired". Told him I was thinking about it, but needed help. He project managed the entire job for me, which was great because my house is in Grenada Village, Wellington, but I now live in South Auckland. There were some communication niggles, as Kieran had to deal with both the wife and I at a distance. But on the whole, I fully recommend Kieran's team. Full marks. Great work."

"Kieran is a great guy to deal with. He was very accommodating when it came to carrying out our job. He was able to carry out other work on the property that other contractors could not, he is a one stop shop. He was very helpful when it came to choosing the correct color combination for the house and the end result was superb. Quality of the work was of a very high standard.
