    "Made contact with Dal regarding the replacement of our fencing at the rear of our property. Arranged for a site visit soon after. Discussed style and materials and Dal provided us with an itemised quote within the week.
    We arranged a lose time-frame for the job, which was to coincide with our returning from holiday later in the year.
    Job proceeded as arranged and we were extremely happy with Dal's workmanship and quality fencing. He removed all old fencing rubbish as well.
    Dal's a great… guy, excellent communicator and we're so pleased with his work.

    We would thoroughly recommend him for any residential fencing work. We have since recommended him for a family members large property's fencing, and I know they are wrapped with theirs as well.    "

    "Paid Dal Fea an agreed deposit in mid November for job to start mid January.

    Had some discussions to finalise fence materials, palings size, gates etc. Dal was very helpful.

    Once finalised I paid 50% deposit. Job start was delayed about 2 weeks which was OK.

    However one day before he was supposed to start Dal said he didn't want the job anymore.

    This left me massively in the lurch. Now I have to start from the beginning again, find another contractor repeat all the discussions and… so on.

    This has also delayed a related project to pour an adjoining concrete path/pad that was supposed to start once his posts were in.

    So my other contractor has been left in the lurch also at the last minute. This is of course very unfair to them but unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it.

    Despite all this Dal seemed a nice guy and was great to deal with until communication failed completely.

    He cancelled the job by email rather than calling me or talking face to face. He did not answer or return my phone call or voice message where I politely asked to discuss the work and offered to compromise on dates. I find this disrespectful and my wife was upset by it.

    He also commented that he thought we wanted a high quality fence on the cheap. I found this somewhat insulting and disingenuous. During the quoting process at no stage whatsoever did I comment on value or even try to negotiate the price down. In fact the opposite, we added features to the original quote like nicer cap rails and post caps and these increased the price.

    Also prior to suddenly cancelling, at no point did Dal even suggest in any way that he wasn't happy with the job. So it was a complete surprise to us and very disappointing.

    In terms of rating Superior Fencing its difficult.

    Reliability - sadly has to be 0% it's not right to hold client money paid in good faith for 2 months and then pull out literally on the eve of starting the job

    Quality of work - can only give 0% as no work was delivered

    Value for money - I was happy with the quote and did not negotiate on price so 75%

    Communication - was great until complete failure so I think 50% is fair    "

    "The scope of the job was constantly changing from that originally agreed. A change would be agreed then they would change it again. They had a quote for $30,000 which was 3 times my price but were taking photos of this style and basically wanting me to match it. I was still going to do the job at this stage. I cancelled the job because Scott had booked concrete contractors who were going to be working in the same location as me. I asked him to put them off but he refused. On this basis I cancelled the job. I fully refunded his 50% deposit within 24hrs of receiving the balance of it. I might add he was slow to pay this which made me wary. Regards Dal Fea"
