100%"I was very happy with Thai and his team. They arrived on site every morning bang on time, and were very friendly and professional and respectful of me being in the house with my 3 young children. The painting was done to a high standard with special focus placed on the preparation to ensure an excellent finish. We have an old villa so they had to fill holes and prime wood as well as smooth out old bumps. The end result is excellent. While here they also gave me advice to minimise the smell… given I have young children and were careful to point out any hazards before they left at the end of the day.
I found his painting team easy to have in my home for what was close to 6 weeks - and I felt I could trust them to leave alone while I went to work etc. I am also very happy with Thai's "after job" service in returning in a timely manner to complete rooms that weren't ready on the initial schedule and also to manage any touch ups required. I really felt through this job that Tai and his team took pride in producing an excellent paint finish and treated my home as if it were their own. We are very happy with the result. Wall and woodwork surfaces are

43%"Overall I was not particularly happy with the job these guys did. They didn't use drop sheets a lot of the time and consequently paint was spilled everywhere and not cleaned up afterwards. I was told that they had done two coats on the roof, but I could clearly see spots that had bare metal showing through, very unlikely with two coats. Paint was spread inside (even though they were painting the outside of the house) and there were whole parts of the house they didn't actually paint until… prompted. Communication was difficult with them and when trying to agree colours, they actually didn't get it right; but I just lived with the results in the end was communication was so difficult. They were very quick at completing the work; but almost too quick in some ways. 100%"2nd time I've used these polite hard-working Vietnamese guys. They are always ready to start even though they have many jobs on as the boys work 9-9pm incl Sat & Sun (Unlike the rest). They are VERY particular & came to my rescue to fix a very shoddy plastering job from another plasterer that I thought was cheaper but ended up costing more as he was so slow & useless. 65%"Cheap but cheap for a reason.
They were asked to paint the interior and exterior of my rental house. I asked them to leave and leftover paint there for me for touchups (i would pay for this) but no paint was leftover.
Upon inspection they painted over moss that was growing on the weatherboards on the back of the house, very little sanding was done so some paint is now flaking off.
The interior looks very nice but once again very little/no filling of pin holes or indents in the walls prior… to painting.
Communication was good though, sometimes hard to get a hold of Thai but he never hesitates to call back.
Due to the quality of work though, i would not be recommending Thai Viet to anyone. The street frontage received a really good paint job – As the visibility of the house reduced so did the quality of the paint job! We had to climb out onto the scaffolding to check the paintwork only to discover that the most difficult places to see, without the scaffolding, received the worst paint job. The preparation in many places was non-existent – including painting over lichen (no washing and no sanding) and painting over rotten… woodwork. We suspect, but cannot be certain, many places only received only a single coat of paint.
When we asked “Do we need to take this in, or take that down” – the response was “No, it will be covered in plastic. That never happened! When asked about it the response was – the paint will come off easily. I would have happily taken it in!
We had them stain our deck. We now regret this. They did not appear to know what they were doing! The final result was very, very disappointing.
Issues we encountered:
Directly water-blasting windows – water sprayed into the house over curtains, electronics, etc.
Windows painted shut or no longer closing properly. – We had to point these out as they did not perform any check.
Drop cloths were used, but more as a requirement – they were thrown on the ground, sometimes under what was being painted, sometimes to kneel on. We suspect they simply blew to the side and were given up on.
They never closed gates (nor would they prop them open). It is Wellington gates blow in the wind!
They dropped their rubbish where they were (sandpaper, painting bits, etc.), or allowed it to blow away.
They left their food scraps, including bones, in a box on the deck – for days (this attracts rats).
They poured paint filled water from the cleaning of brushes etc. onto the garden and down the drain.
Window glass was left filthy.
Very little care was taken with garden plants, which were left trampled and covered in paint.
Paint tins left in the garden filled with water.
When we complained we were told to oversee the painters ourselves to make sure they got the job right.
You never knew if they were going to turn up or not on any given day– there was no communication.
The final invoice was sent well before the job was completed."
