    While in transit, the luggage compartment doors opened accidentally, throwing multiple bags (including ours) from the bus at very high speeds. The total damage to our gear was in excess of several hundreds of dollars, and would have ruined our vacation had we not already finished our last track.

    We wrote Naked Bus to seek compensation for an accident that was clearly brought about by neglect on the part of the company. They claim that they are not responsible for the damages. This company clearly does not care about their customers, cuts corners with safety and standards, and possesses zero accountability for their actions. Thankfully there were only bags involved in this accident as opposed to passengers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS."

    "I would like to complain about my recent trip from Auckland to Tauranga I was not impressed with the driver called ROYAL. On arrival I was expected to grab my own suitcase which was heavy and I'm an eighty year old woman. when he was asked to do so he reluctantly did it. I paid the highest price possible due to booking the day before, but for that money I expect some service"

    "I'm a frequent traveller with the naked bus company, on average twice a week. All the bad reviews you've read so far, are probably correct. I've witnessed impatient drivers yelling, even shouting at passengers several times. The wifi has never worked once, and I've traveled over 200 times with this company. It wasn't until today I experienced disgusting, unacceptable service which horrified me and my family. I'm gobsmacked and want to cancel my 50 future tickets right this minuet. The naked bus company has had its contract taken over by Frisbes. It used to be Johnstons. Johnstons had decent, friendly and helpful drivers. Now the drivers don't use the mic to introduce themselves or inform you of the stop. Your luggage is insecure too. So today, like every week, the driver asked for my ticket number. I've been doing this for at least a year now, and I know what I'm doing. I told him in, I read it out from my paper, and he said he didn't have it and to get out of the way and move. He didn't even listen to me, he just shuvved me aside while I'm telling him I am on the coach. He ignored me and went to someone else. I said it again. He started shouting aggressively at me . He was extremely rude and spiteful. He was yelling nasty words embarrassing me in front of everyone. He threw my bag on the floor. I stood in front of him and told him again. He then magically checked and had the number. What the hell? Is he stupid? He said nasty things while I tried getting on the coach. My mum told him to stop talking to me that way and leave me alone. He didn't. He carried on being mentally abusive. I thought to myself that I would argue back if I didn't need to get home. If I had another way of getting home I would. I would say something back. But their isn't. I had to put up with it. My mum hugged me and asked if I'm okay. Obviously I said yes. I was shocked and shaking. My hands were shaking. I was with the driver for another 4 hrs. I would not recommend the naked bus service to anyone. Use intercity. The naked bus has the tendency to cancel services without notice. Also they don't know how to use their phone's to check people on and off. Very unreliable. All international traveller's use intercity or travel by air. All traveller's who are local, be careful and be warned."

    "not impressed by the driver taking multiple calls on hand held mobile from what sounded like it was his own bus company.

    would have complained directly, but they apparently don't provide contact details"

    "I do NOT recommend this carrier. Stories abound of people getting left/not picked up, poor customer service [$1.99/mi "900" phone contact, no refunds...].
    Check them out, before you use them, and be forewarned.

    "On a couple of occasions the bus has left the bus pick up site earlier than the time specified for pick up or the time it is booked for. There was nobody to contact to see if the bus was running late or had left early. This has happened on 3 occasions in which there is no refund or anywhere to follow this up. Naked bus company is a good bus service but I feel they need to leave on time or just after not before the time allocated. This is from the Bomby pick up site."

    "I made several reservations and payments for my guest through the website in September 2009. but the bus driver of 'Atomic Shuttles' which operates in South Island in co-operation with Nakedbus refused to give the ride to him, for the reason that the bus driver did not have my guest’s reference number both in his list and in his mobile phone. Surprisingly, the driver did not have an office to make a contact with, and demanded my guest make a phone call to 0900 number, although my guest did not have a mobile phone which was able to call 0900. The bus driver refused to call saying he was NOT ALLOWED to do so. My guest had to travel on that day definitely, so ended up paying cash to the driver, although all the credit-card payments were approved and went through. In retrospect, this event seems to be common given the info on their website. My guest is requesting a refund of the payment that he had to pay to the driver, since this was obviously caused by the driver, or his company, or Nakedbus. The driver had a hand-written list of 3-digit numbers - which did not resemble the reference numbers of Nakedbus - and ordered my guest to find the number himself. Furthermore, the driver did not load luggage himself but let customers load all the bags into the bus, which looked unsafe and unusual from the normal practice of bus companies in NZ. In fairness, this kind of event, i.e. the bus driver did not have the reference number, has happened to me several times in NZ in the past five years of my stay here when the payment was made in advance by credit card. However, in every case I had the ride given the possible mistake of the companies concerned in the operation which often involves several transport companies. The bus company, Atomic Shuttles rejected to give the ride to my guest, insisting that he did not have the number, although my guest had the evidence of payment, the bus ticket. I am going to cancel all the tickets I bought in order to avoid future troubles."

    "Booked bus travel from Waihi to Auckland. Bus didnt turn up. Couldnt find contact number on website or booking info other than an 0900 number which couldnt be accessed from mobile ph. Finally got through to 0900 number (being charged to make a complaint really annoyed me).

    After looking into it they said their driver went to Waihi beach but didnt go into Waihi. They offered no apology or explanation. I said I had a booking that said they DID go into Waihi. They said that the driver is new! They then offered to book me a fare the next day, or they could book me on the Intercity bus service some hours later.

    The worst part is that the operator was not at all apologetic and made out like I was a really big hassle to them.

    Totally appalling service and the fact that they hide behind an 0900 number and there is np other way to contact them should be a warning to anyone else to never use this service.
