"Tony and his guys helped me move out of my two-story house on short notice last year. Customer service was friendly and professional from the start, they fit in around me and my availability/time constraints.
I have an awkward driveway, some narrow stairs and a high, gated fence to contend with--they didn't even blink at these! Quite impressed with how they navigated bulky items down the stairs or over the glass balcony without a scratch, also. They made the stress of the job just disappear.
Tony also taught me a bit about some of the considerations that go into loading a truck as I was observing part of the move...super interesting!
Other than one box ending up in the garage instead of the kitchen when we got to the place, I can't think of a single thing I'd change. A+"

"The guys were outstanding. Going above and beyond to accommodate me.
From allowing me to book them with minimal notice to do a job that began after hours way out at Bethells Beach. I thought that was pushing it. But they happily accepted and came out to get stuck in.
Wasn't an easy move (basically a large studio move, all of it up a long flight of stairs)but the boys came out and monstered the whole job.
Then relocated everything to 2 different city locations (new residence and storage facility).
No damages at all. Taking great care especially of all my fragile music equipment. I'm stoked!
Really couldn't have asked for better. All at a very reasonable price.
I reccommend this company so much, I don't have the words to convey how much."

"Glenn and the team turned up right on time, and dud such a fantastic job. I've had some terrible experiences in the past with moving companies, but I can't recommend Tony's Transport more. The guys did such a great job of safely loading my furniture into the truck, taking special care of some more expensive items I have and unloaded it with equally as much care. "Highly recommend to all. Tony and his team moved all the large items for us into our new home. Reliable communication, he called to confirm if they can swing by earlier than scheduled. Upon arrival, no time wasted in identifying all the large items that needed moving before finding the most expeditious way to carry out the task and the team even took some of the smaller items during their trips back and forth to help us speed up the move process without increasing time and cost. Tony respects your property (old and new) and your goods being very careful throughout the move pass corners and through tight spaces. The team even wrapped the fragile items and managed it keep everything dry moving under the rain. Result was a successful and efficient move well below the time expected, thus saving you money which Tony was very good about.

"At first I was a bit nervous about picking a non-franchise mover as that’s all I’ve ever used in the past, but I’m happy that Tony and his team eliminated all worries and then some! For anyone here like me who are shopping around for a private mover that’s affordable and reliable, I can’t recommend these guys any higher!
They’re very competitively priced for a 3-man team, and completed the job well under their original time estimate which was a pleasant surprise. They were all also incredibly friendly and easy to talk to during the process. As they are a small outfit, you’ll likely have to wait a bit longer while communicating than you may be used to from options with dedicated customer service, but that never impacted the job and everything else more than makes up for this.

"These guys were great, they didn't muck around and they kept me updated re: timing on the day, which was really useful. I went overtime and probably should've given them a heads up about the extra boxes but they got stuck into it. "I initially approached Tony to move a heavy, wooden desk that has been passed down through a few generations - I wanted to make sure I got professional movers as I was afraid of damaging the desk if I tried myself/with friends.
When Tony sent the quote back I thought his price was so reasonable that I decided to engage him to move the whole house. I am very pleased I made that decision. Tony’s friendly team arrived on time and moved a 2 bedroom home plus storage unit in just over 3 hours (the drive was a good 45 mins). The precious, but extremely heavy desk, was moved with great expertise and care. I should also mention that Tony’s team is completely trustworthy - they were given unsupervised access to our storage unit, which they packed up completely and promptly. Tony’s Transport moved our house quickly and in one trip, whereas it would have taken my husband and I the entire day and at least 2 trips. Tony and his team"

"These guys are legit - the best movers that I have had. And I have moved about 5 times now in the last 20 years, so have seen some really shoddy jobs.
No damages or scratches from the source or the destination house. We had a 4 bedroom place and lots of small and large things to move. Both houses were two levels with narrow stair-way to navigate.
Glenn, Rueben and Vance did the move from Tony's. Great job loading and arranging the boxes in the truck. Really impressed with the stacking and ordering skills fitting the max in the truck. The whole logistics and man-power of the move combined to ensure that costs were kept to a minimum.

"My head tenant was left struggling physically and financially after a moving company on facebook shafted him for over $2000 for a shoddy moving job, which involved over 3-6 incompetent men who didn't want to move a washing and drying machine into a small space within our bathroom. We called Tony in the hopes that he could see us last minute, on the same day, nearly towards their closing time. They graciously accepted our plea and came quickly to help. "What does it take to be a good removalist?
The arms of a gorilla and the brain of Albert Einstein. (God help you if these qualities are reversed)
Carrying, heavy, flimsy, slippery furniture of uneven ground will never be an Olympic event it is too difficult, unpredictable and immeasurable. (Slippery, heavy, fragile Ikea wardrobes being the case in point.)
Walking through a house and assessing how much space a potted palm, a couch, a fridge, a roll of carpet, a 2 X 3 metre painting, a box of crystal glasses, a drop saw, a lawn mower, a motor scooter, a roll of garden hose… (get the idea) will fit into a 60 cubic metre truck. Kinda like Tetris in 3D (with weight, fragility and irregularity thrown in.)
Having factored all these aspects into your decision there are a number of other things to consider.
You will have the stressful process of packing, discarding, and organising stuff you have been accumulating for years. The wrench of saying goodbye to a house you’ve lived in for a decade or two. The relocation of favourite plants and elderly pets. The complexity of the sign-off from a house sale or a rental termination, along with cleaning up and all the other little jobs involved with quitting a premises.
Given this, who you gonna call?
Tony’s Transport, that’s who.
We had sold our Auckland house, having bought a house in Taranaki some months earlier (Twice the house for half the money). Then came the great disruptor, ‘Lockdown’ (cue, scary music) Yep, the best laid plans of mice and men…
Weeks rolled by until one day, there was a new dawn. Auckland was going move to level 3. This meant that the sale transaction could finally be completed and movement between the districts was (briefly) allowed.
Enter Tony, he seized this window of opportunity, and moved his team into our house days before this was to happen. They wrapped and packed, stacked and planned. Tony went on a hunt for a suitable pantechnicon. As things transpired Wednesday was D Day.
We loaded all our potted plants onto the trailer and hitched it to our camper. We drugged the cats, stashed any space with out inseparable possessions and set out for the legendary maunga in the south. Tony managed to assemble a crew, some from Auckland, others Taranaki-based whanau. I felt quietly confident as I swung the LDV camper along with heavily vegetated trailer out into our street for the last time.
As it turned out we were possibly the last people to escape the Auckland lockdown using ‘moving house to a new province’ as our passport to freedom.
We arrived at the house five house later somewhat shell-shocked. The drugs used to subdue our Bengal cat were not strong enough and he let out a noisy yowl every 3 seconds for 5 hours. We spent the first night in a New Plymouth motel while Our son occupied the house and kept the three cats from tearing each other apart.
The following morning, dead on 10.00 am the arranged time, Tony arrived with his crew. They ranged in age for mid 60s to early teens. The Taranaki sunshine (rain!) never let up for the hours it took to unload. The new house had four separate buildings so it was a complicated process. Several times we had a change of heart and couches and chairs had to be moved from one place to another. Finally, everyone exhausted but still in good spirits, threw themselves down on assorted furniture and enjoyed a few beers/ chips and similar tasty junk food. It was a great day.
Now, two and a half weeks later, Auckland still in lockdown and no new home-owners allowed out, we all have a better idea of what it was that Tony accomplished. The man needs to be wearing a spandex body suit suit with a large S on the chest. Super Tony. As do his trusty off-siders, Glenn, Leroy, Casey, Torey and not forgetting 12 year old Cyprus who gave up a day at school to help out."

"I really wanted to write a good review but unfortunately, this is not the case.
My husband and I chose Tony and his team to move us based on the GREAT reviews on the nocowboys website. Albeit a little hard to get in contact with in the lead up to the move, he and his team turned up on time and worked so fast! They moved all our pre packed goods from our home in to their truck with precision and were very patient with us while the settlement process took longer than expected. Everything was shifted quickly into our new home and we were thankful for that.
The trouble came when we unwrapped the bubble wrap off our near new TV, plugged it in and saw there were lines the whole way through the screen [read: TV not working]. I quickly got in touch with Tony via email and attached a photo of our TV damage and heard nothing back. After a second email, I did receive a reply however, it was met with a 'this is not our issue, it must have been your fault' situation, despite the TV only being touched by Tony and his guys during the move.
Note: TV working at old home and then bubble wrapped carefully by owner (no owner wants to break they're own TV). TV picked up by Tony and moved to truck. TV strapped down by Tony or one of his guys in the truck. TV was untied/lifted by one of the movers and given to another one of the movers who then placed it in new lounge. TV doesn't work.
As you can imagine, this was a frustrating and disappointing end to what was an otherwise successful day. My advice to anyone thinking of choosing these guys is a. move fragile items yourself b. check if they have insurance (I haven't heard back from Tony since my last email dated 21st Dec asking for a fair solution)."

"Tony and his team were absolutely amazing! We have a very steep driveway so there was no way his truck would be able to make it up. So just imagine walking all our big boxes, beds, plants, indoor and outdoor furniture and a 200kg outdoor tree wooden seat down the drive. I couldn't look, the whole thing was scary!

"We used Kurt Transport in the past so when we were moving house, we wanted them to do the move but they already were committed elsewhere on the date so Kurt recommended Tony. Tony was luckily available on our date.
With our move, we had a few specific challenges:
- 2 pickup locations as we had some items in storage
- 4 pots of tall cacti (2.5m+)
- 1 heavy wooden hot tub
I've talked to Tony prior to the move on several occasions to discuss the logistics of transporting these items and sent a list as well as pictures of the cacti so Tony could be prepared. I was pleased that he wanted to see what he was dealing with. We agreed that it would take about 2 trips to move all our items which turned out to be correct. We also had a few car-loads left as there was just so much stuff but that was fine.
Tony and his team were friendly and fun with good banter all along. They were professional and efficient without wasting time. They did the first trip in the morning, and after unloading, went to do another job, then picked up the heavy and tricky stuff in the afternoon. By then the guys were hungry so I got them some food which they were super grateful for. We managed to load up the hot tub with some extra help from neighbours but the cacti were a challenge. Most plants went in OK but the tallest (3.5m) unfortunately snapped under the weight of the top of the limbs, as it was just too tall to topple safely. This was not Tony's teams fault as they took all precautions to avoid damage by wrapping the cactus in big blankets and tying it securely. So, advice when moving tall cactus is to make sure the tall limbs have full length support when toppling (which is difficult). Anyways, we now have some extra cactus to plant at the new place so nothing lost!
The final challenge was the hot tub. I wanted it placed down the side of the house, which required the tub be moved along narrow decking and a few steps. It would have been easy to just dump the tub at the top of the driveway but I asked Tony if it was possible to get it to where I wanted it. He said it was and set out to get it done. By then it was already 8pm and everyone was tired however between Tony, his team of 2, myself and another relative, we managed to get the tub to where I wanted it. The evening finished with a round of beers to celebrate the accomplishment. All in all, Tony will look after your move and go the extra mile when needed, so I'm happy to recommend his services."

"Moving out of Auckland can be tough...we had thought of moving all our stuff out to our new house with a hired truck and a friend's help. A day before we wanted to move our friend told us, he won't be able to help us.
Not knowing what to do we kept on calling around. Through our storage provider, we ended up giving Tony a call.
During all this time we dealt with Tony, the owner himself and this gave us a very nice experience. He was able within two days to squeeze our move into the Bay of Plenty into his schedule.
He sent us a quote beforehand with estimations, based on the information we had supplied him with. The quote was what we paid in the end.
On the day of the move, he brought Lester along ( I hope I wrote that correctly) to help him with the moving of all our boxes and furniture. They took our boxes and furniture to the truck and helped me to wrap some paintings and glassware, which we weren't able to wrap beforehand.
Since this was our first move for our young family with a 3.5 month old baba, we didn't know what to expect, but trusted Tony & Lester in their experience - and we were proven right :).
They arrived at our new house approximately within 15 minutes of us, who had driven down ourselves with them.
Unloading, same as the loading went pretty fast and they put everything nicely together where we wanted it. Tony was also happy to help me putting together my baby's new cot (since he had grown out of his bassinet). With no tools at hand to put it together, Tony was kind enough to spend some time to help usout. It was over 2 weeks ago, but it seems like this all happened yesterday :).
Things like customer service set businesses apart from other businesses - Here is where you cannot go wrong with Tony's Transport.
Tony & Lester who helped us on our moving day were absolutely fantastic, honest, reliable, polite and just wonderful.
And they are willing to go an extra mile for you (or maybe just for us :D ).
All of our items and furniture arrived safely with absolutely no issues. And in the end we were very happy, not to have moved with a hired truck, but with Tony, as it made our move into our first home so easy and effortless (although not for them, as they were sweating, carrying all our stuff :D ).
We had arrived as a family & are very happy to have Tony's Transport in our memory as the ones, who made this possible for us :).
Should we ever move back into the Auckland region, the first person am going to call about the move, is going to be Tony from Tony's Transport :).

"Tony and company were great! This is the second time we've used them, for completely different kinds of moves. This one entailed antiques, several over 200 years old and quite heavy. Tony wrapped them very carefully, the two of them (his second was appropriately nicknamed "Hercules") moved them without nicking any of the items or our freshly painted walls, did it efficiently and in a very personable manner, and the total came to less than expected. "I have used Tony's Transport in the past and would not hesitate to use them again in the future. After an initial web enquiry and text reply I booked a reasonably short notice 3brm house move to a storage unit. Tony confirmed the date and time of the move by text and on the day of the move kept me informed of how soon they would be arriving at my house. A very challenging driveway and difficult access and Tony's problem solving kicked into action. He and the crew had to switch their large truck for a smaller one to safely access our house and ensure a successful move. Once the moving began Tony and crew worked swiftly and professionally. The truck was packed superbly and not a thing moved on the across town trip. They packed my household goods into my storage unit beautifully (thanks Gary!), my possessions were treated very well and work was undertaken with good humour. "Tony and the team are nice guys but we would not recommend them. We were disappointed with the service. They got sticky tape marks all over our bed which I can't get off, lost the bed parts so it took several hours to re-assemble it, got dirty marks on our expensive oil painting as they didn't wrap it properly, and forgot to pack a whole car full of our things so we had to go back and do this ourselves. They also took a very long time to move a small 2 bed flat's worth of things so ended up being just as expensive as using a more professional company. In terms of the positives, none of our plates etc were broken and they picked up our empty boxes after we had unpacked."

"I've used this company three times in the past and had awesome service and hassle free moves. I have recommended them to lots of people and placed positive feedback on Facebook and here too.....but.....after this move with Tony's Transport..... I would NEVER.... EVER.... use this company again!
I made contact through email like I always have in the past to book a job in with plenty of notice, and....no reply. I waited quite a while to contact again as I know that stat holidays of Easter may have an impact on when they replied, so then I rang.....message said "don't leave a message as this hardly ever gets checked"....what??!! So I texted....oh sorry we are fully booked on the day and have been for weeks....(I had booked weeks in advance) but we can do the afternoon of the day before. Ok, yes that would be great thank you....so my property manager came to the party and arranged with the landlord (awesome company!) and allowed me to move in the day before my lease started, as I had advised her that I had been let down by my movers.
So the morning of the move the dramas started....The move they had brooked in for the morning was being stalled by lawyers/money transfers/ banks etc.....on and on it went with this other job being delayed and delayed in Red Beach.....and my pick up planned for 2pm from the storage unit in Three Kings was being put further and further back.
To cut an extremely long story short.....they finally arrived at my house in darkness after 9pm and did not leave until after 11pm.
To say that I was so unbelievably stressed by the time they got here, would have been an understatement. I had been waiting for hours, and hours.
Then came the bill......$1250 from a 3x3 full storage unit in Three Kings to Botany. I was gutted!!
I asked them to explain how the SAME company who packed my storage unit for 1/2 of this price with two men....could then charge me twice that, take twice as long with four men....
Then the blaming started....all on me......"it was difficult move" "you have a lot of things" "some of the boxes are very heavy" "every other company would charge you more than us".....
Oh My God.....ARE YOU SERIOUS?
So I paid on credit card...as Tony wanted me to pay a cash price (why should he not pay tax to top it all off!) and promised to send me a invoice by email.....shock surprise...still waiting!
And to top it all off, I have never had so much damage as scratches, dents, dings and one box of china that has obviously been dropped as everything inside is shattered. I will take the loss on the chin, as I just couldn't face dealing with this company again to be blamed for my damaged and broken property, just as I will live and learn that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing to this firm. You have been warned."

"After phoning around a few removal companies, Tony's Transport was recommended by one company that was already fully booked.
After some toing and froing over getting a quote (we understand they were busy), we had a confirmed booking one week out from the move. We did not get a phone call the day before to confirm everything, as outlined in their email. This is why we rated 90% rating for communication.
On moving day, John, Paul & Dylan and their two trucks turned up on time to shift our large house lot from Albany to rural Whangarei. The guys were all good humored, courteous, hard-working and careful, treating our furniture as though it was their own. They even had some spare bed connectors for the slat bed, that had got lost in the shift.
The loading from a second storey storage unit took 5 hours, but the unloading from the trucks into single storey house took 2 hours.
So the move was completed in 9 hours including a piano!"

Moving is never easy but these guys made it run all the smoother. Nothing was too much trouble for the team and even though we had to cancel and reschedule our moving date three times the service was amazing! Each step of the process from booking to execution exceeded expectations.
The day of my move three young men showed up, politely introduced themselves, threw on some energetic music (they brought their own stereo) & got straight to the task of relocating my possessions.
No fuss, no problems, no scratches, no dents, no hassles. All done in record time. All the while maintaining a determined, but friendly & accommodating, demeanor.

"We were only moving a short distance, but we had a challenge at each end of the move - a very steep hill at the start and a very narrow drive at the end.
Stefan and James were great: Friendly and hard working and they made what could have been a stressful process incredibly easy for us instead. Tony himself also popped-in to check how the job was going, which was also appreciated - but completely unnecessary in the best way!

"This is the third time I have used Tony\'s Transport and again the service and quality, reliability and cost were exceptional. While I liase with Tony who is a pleasure to deal with, I actually have face time with his son. Reuben is professional and totally trustworthy and I have no hesitation in leaving these guys to complete the job while I am not there.

"I have moved approx 10 times over the last 15 years and I found Tonys Transport to be excellent. They confirmed the booking , ther were on time , happy, courteous, polite, didnt moan or groan and did a fantastic job of stacking my storage unit. In fact they have saved me money in the long run on the fanstatic stacking job as i now have a smaller unit. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Big thumbs up from me and trust me I have used a long list of compaines that dont even deserve a glance at again.
In fact they were so good I was going to buy the boys some beers, but i got side tracked ! (sorry boys !! )

Tony\'s Transport are young and fit, opposed to other Auckland removalists who can barely stand on their 2 feet. Tony is priced extremely well (I got 3 quotes and Tony was the cheapest) which is fantastic, as their quality of work was beyong amazing.
I would certainly recommend Tony\'s Transport to everyone in Auckland without a doubt, otherwise feel free to pay more to other removalists who are fat and walk at a snail pace!"

"I selected Tonys Transport to use when moving house recently on the basis of the excellent feedback on this website, so have been left feeling pretty disappointed at the overall poor experience we received. Things started off well with Tony coming to meet with us before the move and giving us a competitive quote. We arranged for 2 people to come in the day before the move itself and do 2 hours of packing for us. Tori and Katrina arrived bang on time to do the packing and did an amazing job. They were friendly and professional and worked at the speed of light! Based on how great Tori and Katrina had been with the packing, when moving day arrived we were feeling very confident about using Tonys Transport for the move. Unfortunately it didn\'t go well. We had arranged with Tony for the trucks to arrive at 11am, but they didn\'t get to us until after 12:30pm, an hour and a half late. Tony had estimated the job would take 3-4 hours using 2 trucks to shift our house-lot of furniture. But after the completing the first load, one of the trucks had to head off to another job, so we were left with only one truck to complete the rest of the move and the job ended up taking 5 hours. I was not impressed with the men\'s unprofessional language, swearing profusely around myself and my 2 small children which I felt was completely inappropriate. We have used other moving companies in the past, and in comparison these guys were painfully slow and quite unhelpful, doing things like stacking a pile of boxes in an access way, and tipping boxes clearly labelled \'fragile\' upside down when stacking them. Tony did call to tell me that the trucks would be running late, but then did not call to apologise later or to check how the move had gone. If he had called I would have told him that we were disappointed as the move cost more than we expected, primarily because we didn\'t have 2 trucks moving us as promised, so it ended up taking a lot longer with just the one truck, and we were disappointed with the lack of professionalism from the movers. I would not recommend Tonys Transport and would not use them again."
