    "Very dishonest service, I visited to get a nail looked at in my LH rear tyre, informed that the tyre had a puncture and they would have to replace whole tyre plus replace the RH rear tyre too (this was without even taking the tyre off the car to check it), they said they wouldn't touch it unless I agreed to get both tyres replaced.
    I then took this to another tyre shop and they informed me there was no puncture at all and didn't charge me anything.

    "can't even get hold of the local branch, call the local number and the call goes straight to their national call centre who obviously can't answer questions about the local branch. they certainly don't make it easy so I will be using someone else. "

    "I booked 10 days in advance to have a set of tyres fitted. My wife and I travelled for 40 minutes to get there so that we could go somewhere for a meal as we were told they needed 2 hours to fit the tyres. They had tried to get me to buy tyres from the brands they are closely affiliated to. But I refused and they agreed to get the requested tyres in. I rang the day before to confirm the time and that the tyres were in the store waiting for me. When we arrived they put up a charade about not being sure where the tyres were. They kept us waiting for 15 minutes before saying they did not have the requested tyres but they were ready to fit the tyres they originally tried to get me to buy. It was a pretty transparent bait and switch job in my view. I found out later that the tyres I wanted were readily available at the importers not far away, so the fact they never got them in when I had given them 10 days notice, reinforced the bait and switch theory. So I then confirmed with the importer that they had never ordered the tyres. And yet in my call the day before the booking, Tony's Tyre Services confirmed the tyres were waiting for me. Perhaps they are just incompetent, or perhaps they are simply dishonest. Either way they wasted hours of my day trying to sell me the wrong tyres, so they just lost my company's business worth many thousands of dollars annually for them."

    "I called their hotline and was told that the price to change the tyre is for $210 for 2 rear tyres. I went to Tony tyre service new lynn as I was booked in there. When I went there, I told the mechanic that the 2 rear tyre I want to be replaced and he recommended that I should change all tyres and wheel alignment and that will cost me $500. And I told them that I dont have the much money and I was quoted differently over the phone. So, i insisted for the 2 rear tyre replaced and he recommended to do an alignment and I agree to have it aligned since its turns a little bit to the left when driving. When they finished changing the tyre it is the same thing, when driving on a straight line it still turns to the left and I was told that the reason is the left front tyre is worn out. And from there I know I am being ripped off as I was not adviced that before he recommended the alignment. It is really annoying that you paid extra to them and them not doing the right thing. I wont recommend this TONY tyre service shop."

    "I will describe my experience with Tony's Tyres as extremely price misleading. I was offered a price and the price was confirmed before I went there. Dishonestly, the manager in the store charged me a different price after the tyres were installed. The total invoice amount was confirmed and I was told I won't pay more than that to change tyres. After the tyres were installed I was charged an additional $5 for the replaced tyre to be dispose. Meanwhile I was never told about this charges and I have never see any tyre vendor that does. I asked for my car to be restored with as it was brought in to the store considering the manager rude attitude, again I was told I will they can restore but I will need to pay. Police was invited and he stated the police stated this is a civil case and their time is being wasted. I felt they message from the police and really agree there are serious issues that the police time could be used than helping Tony'r tyre to run its business. My hesitant to pay the hidden charges at store and when the job has been completed is not about my ability to afford but concern how many innocent people would have fallen victim of this type of "business practice". My experience led me to research if other people would have experience similar issue or my case was unique. I was surprised that this is intractable issues with this business based on the comments below posted by another victim on 29th May 2012, and some other recent unscrupulous experiences. I strongly recommend you go elsewhere and trade with those who will genuinely provide you services with honesty. The experience from another customer is posted below.

    My son brought the same size tyre with a stronger wear formula for 2/3rds the price and all the extras like Valve, Balance, Fitting and old tyre disposal was inclusive not extra.

    Do yourself a favour and go else where. it pays to shop around."

    "I bought their coupon from treat me for express plus car service option. Booked the car service with them at lower hutt branch. When I went there, they said they can't do service as their mechanic isn't available. They didn't ring me before to postpone but too unorganized and unprofessional service.
    I got booking for next day. Left car with them for an hour. Went back and car looked like untouched. I drove car and found out they haven't even tighten up breaks which was basic part of service. Car was strongly smelling like electronic cigarette. Even after spraying fragrances, it still smells. Not even a single proof of service done to the car. Worst service center I have ever been in NZ from past 10 years. Please don't go there if you don't want to get ripped off

    "I arrived with I thought it was problems with my tyre because it had a small rip. I went to Tony's Tyres and the attention was awful. He told me right away I had to change my Tyre, and go to Palmerstone North to change it. He didn't even looked at it. went for a second opinion in Pits stop, and they told me it was nothing, he checked it out, saw the pressure, patched up and advice to change it when we could. Amazing service, and no charge. Don't go to Tony's Tyres, go to the pits stops. "

    "I went to tonys in hillside road,glenfield branch to get all the tyres change over for new ones.I found Daniel and his team great to deal with.Daniel took the time to go through the options and prices that suited our car.An had the job completed at the correct time agreed apon for picking up the car.It s refreshing to see some good old fashioned customer service still exists out there,as I personally find it to be a bit of a rare thing these days.Especially when your a female dealing with anything to do with your car.So thumbs up to the team at tonys tyre service."

    "I dealt with the Tony\'s Tyre branch on Grey Lynn, they finished the job when they said they would and provided me with a detailed debrief after the job was completed as well. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and service they provide. Definitely would recommend this branch and personally will be going back there again. "

    "I called at 11am to book a wheel alignment.i made the booking for 2pm same day.i arrived at 10 to 2.The employee served me and persuaded me to have my wheels rotated and balanced.i was told they would need the vehicle for 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours to perform the work.This was no problem and i was prepared to wait.I watched another customer come in and explain he needed work done while he was at a meeting.My vehicle disappeared around the back.i saw the other customers car go into the workshop,get worked on, then shifted out.By this time the 1 and 1/2 hours ticked past.I decided to walk around the back to investigate the work done on my vehicle.i noted my vehicle still sitting idle.i approached an employee to ask what work has been done.He replied they had completed the rotation and balance, but they needed to send the vehicle to another company for wheel alignment because of the fire they had( 2 months prior) had damaged the equipment. Gracefully i was offered the courteous car as i had explained i needed to get home for my kids.i dont think it is worth booking your car in to this company as has happened to me before, its never ready on time.I was told this company is now owned by firestone, so firestone,please train your staff in comunicating with customers, maybe thats why Steve Lang sold and went to run a restaurant in Wellington.Hopefully i get my car back at 5pm."
