Cost us over $6000 for a new website. Charge us $229 a month. Website was delayed by 3 months (took them 9 months for it to be live) which isnt right.

It took them over 8 months to build. Complained that they couldn't get the domain name when the previous company already sent it though.

Your sales rep made promises he couldn't keep and convinced us into a 3 year deal.

Quick to take money during a time its hard, but not quick to help us out.

We… only hear from our accounts manager once a year. How are they suppose to keep us happy when they only want to talk to us once a year? How is that suppose to help us?

All about money but no performance!

They are just take the money and run.

We want this to end please. All you guys want it money, money, money!

Sort out your account managers and staff about this - I'm over it. We want meeting with them ever 2 months minimum!!

I have had a less than great experience with this company. Yes they promise big things in their literature and the sales people push hard to "sign here". unfortunately I found the sales guy I was assigned to was less than knowledgeable and was a couple of times corrected by his Manager after I questioned what he was saying. I find that really annoying. Mmmm not a good look. I asked to deal with another sales person… as I had lost confidence in him but the company put the same sales guy back onto me to proceed. I found that insulting to say the least.

In hindsight I should have walked then.

Communication with the customer is a very weak point in their culture. When I complained to the General Manager I felt like I had been corrected by him and I was at fault!

Then, after some time of Web Genius managng my web site, I checked how the site was looking. Oh, it wasn't, it was unavailable. Really? Upon checking with the company , someone had disconnected a server without realising that my company was also on that server, along with how many others? Really? I had to find this myself? After how long? Are they not monitoring this sort of event?

Sorry, no high value points from me. Changed providers the next day."

Web Genius guarantee to get your site on googles page 1 for search results for 5 relevant phrases for your industry within 3 months of going live. They charged over $3000 to build the site and $170 per month to host and "market" the site, which they say includes SEO, link building and adwords. We insisted that… google analytics was installed on the site so we could independently track the results.

In the 4th month of hosting, (April) the site only got 114 visitors according to analytics. (thats 3 visitors per day on average, some days the site got no traffic at all). As a comparison our existing website which was built by another company and costs $40 to host, got 2886 visitors in the same month

We complained to Webgenius, and said would increase the adwords spend, and do extra work to improve the traffic immediately. However 2 months later in June the site got even less visitors!

At this stage we could see that Web Genius's work was far below what we considered satisfactory. We asked that the site be taken down and a refund be given to us based on the results. Web Genius agreed the traffic was unsatisfactory but as they had page one results on 5 phrases, they believed they had fulfilled their guarantee, and will not refund our money, and have not replied to our last email.

Unfortunately the phrases Web Genius based their guarantee on are so rarely used by the public when googling in our industry, they return such a bad result.

It appears in our case Web Genius could not get results on commonly used search phrases, as they are targeted by other SEO companies and are too difficult to get rankings for.
