"ADT is probably the most frustrating business I have ever dealt with. The focus seems to be on contracts rather than service or following through.
Initial contact was to install wireless alarm which took three attempts with new equipment purchased from them. Onsite service people polite but slow and not that easy to understand.
Worst of all was trying to move house one year into a "three year contract" that was part of the wireless alarm set up. It was all looking very doable until moving week. I booked the change over a month out and was advised that my new property had an existing alarm installed and monitored by ADT, so simple to switch everything over come moving day. Uninstall of wireless alarm booked in for day before I moved out. Despite booking moving date and providing details, service booking and paperwork got "lost" so stress the week prior to try get a service person to uninstall before move day. I lost count on the number of times I have tried to change address since on my account - postal, physical and name of the account just keeps reverting back to previous address. Whole new set of contracts done, $301 install bill to simply switch oin the existing alarm in my new property and still 2 months later I am getting bills that show my old address. If there was a negative star I would give them one.

"Hopeless service. The first time the salesman came he said that our existing ADT alarm could be reconnected easily to be monitored. The service person failed to do so over many hours as he was incapable of finding the master code for the alarm. The salesman then sold us a new system that he should have known (according to ADT’s next service person) would be useless with our house construction. The service person failed to install the system. ADT failed to refund our money promptly. Then the salesman came to our house again and managed to insert the master code in 5 minutes (the first technician had failed to manage to insert over several hours). The first technician was sent back to us to hook us up to monitoring. We were told he would take ½ hour. It took over 3 hours. The install was supposed to be free as we signed up for 3 years monitoring. Not only have we dealt with incompetence but we are now being hounded by the ADT credit department for a false debt of $30 relating to the install. The sales person has failed to resolve this issue and keeps on passing the buck. The sales manager is also not interested. It seems that this company will say anything to get your business but does not care about offering a very poor level of service once you have signed."
