100%"We have a bathroom towel rail that was not working. A call to James resulted in a same day appointment during which he identified a failed transformer which he replaced on the spot and completed the repair at the same appointment.

100%"We do not trust a lot of people, as we have had some difficult past experiences, but James was recommended to us and we were glad he was. he was friendly and not pushy and he explained what needed to be done and the cost before doing our job. there were some unknowns which we were happy to pay extra for, and we are comfortable to know the work has been done well and has been certified. btw we has an old switch board which kept causing issues. not only was itnchanged to a shiny new board, James… suggested turning it around to a more suitable and usable location, aswell as making us aware that some of the power lines coming off it needed to be upgraded. whilst it turned into a larger job than previously expected, we are happy and more comfortable to know the house is now safe. James actually turns up when he says he's going to… plus he answers his phone, which is near a miracle from my experience with other tradesmen. Called James to replace an under-bench LED light strip. He had everything to hand - even a different unit when the first item wasn't correct (my fault) - saving on the need for an extra trip.
He vacuumed up the sawdust after and left the workspace exactly as it was when he arrived - with the addition of a working light.
The price was below quoted as well.

45%"I was unhappy at receiving an invoice for an hours labour when it was no more than a 10 minute check on something. I'm told by James that this is just the way things are. Nothing at all wrong with what James does and he has been pleasant enough. His emailed invoice asked me to provide feedback so I'm happy to do this. Also included on the invoice is the wording "Late payments or outstanding balances on accounts not paid by the due date will incur a 2% month" and "interest charge… & non-payment will also incur any/ all collection and recovery costs". I guess it is wise to be aware of all these conditions before asking a tradesman to visit. I'm sure these are all 'the way it is' too."James Burns responded:"PLEASE READ MY REPLY. Firstly my service and communication is second to none .Please read my other reviews for piece of mind. I communicated clearly and turned up on time doing the job within the required time frame, so should have received 100 feedback! This client has used my services before and is well aware of my very reasonable charges. I have never made an unreasonable charge, but it seems he is trying it on to penny pinch. It is only because I wouldn\'t bill him for a 1/4 hour (which is ridiculous and not worth my while) .He decided to be nasty and place poor feedback to taint my excellent reputation. I explained that an hour charge is the minimum and he tried to tell me that I am making it up. I explained that electricians need to make a living to survive too. I am sure a reasonable charge & is agreeable by most people. The terms and conditions at the base of the invoice are for those who choose not to pay or purposefully delay payment.
