    "I wouldn't recommend unless you want your day ruined and to sit around in tears for 4 hours whilst they were late, not answering phones and not communicating with you. Then they arrive with no applogy, finding you were bumped for someone else even though your booking said 8-9am. During that time you were wondering how you were going to move and make the deadline for your landlord and still have the time of day to clean your flat after vacating. I swear if i didn't watch them like a hawk things would have been damaged, everything was virtually chucked on and off the truck, cushions strewn on grass etc. An extra guy turns up you didn't book and no discount was given."

    "I am editing my original review because although I had an awful experience with this company the first time, my things were in storage with them and when I moved into my new place the experience was totally different. The first time the two movers were totally unprofessional. An hour and a half late, no care was taken with my belongings (but they certainly took their sweet time with smoke breaks etc). They left pieces of my furniture (shelves off my bookcase, legs off my bed) behind on the floor for me to pick up behind them. The delivery address was wrong, and when I called to sort all this out with Nicolette she was beyond rude. She blamed me for all the problems - apparently I should have let the movers know that I wanted ALL pieces of my furniture on the truck. They left screws from my bed behind that I missed and would not have been able to put my bed back together without. They made an already stressful experience almost traumatic for me. HOWEVER, the two different men who helped me move into my new place were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, completely professional and super efficient - what took two hours for the other team to move out took these guys twenty minutes to move in. So maybe it is the luck of the draw which movers you get? I would still not use this company again based on the customer service from Nicolette and how I was treated, but they definitely redeemed themselves somewhat with the second move and the second team. Proceed with caution!"

    "Totally un-happy about this company. They arrived 2hours late to pick up destination then all our furniture didn’t fit in the truck so they sent for another truck which took over 1hour to arrive. The front door of our fridge was damaged on arrival and when I pointed it out the guy denied it was their fault. Our bedroom drawers were all scratched and some motorbike handle bars were missing.
    By the time they had finished the job it was 10.30pm. I would not recommend this company. When I phoned to complain there was no apology and they tried to charge us for the 3 hours they made us wait.

    I would never recommend this company.

    "Totally unprofessional company. Damaged fridge, bed, chest of drawers and bookcase during move, move took 4 hours instead of 2.5 (Due to one of the "workers" sitting in the truck the entire time, even after being informed that I would be paying for his "work"), was charged for the lazy sods "work", and to top it off, I used their storage option for a few boxes, and as my stuff was not all stored together (when I arrived to remove all the stored stuff, it was in 4 different lockers), I have now lost 2 boxes with costly household goods, which they refuse to take responsibility for. Have tried to speak to them about these matters, but Graham and Nicky both refuse to discuss it with me, and did not even bother to look for my missing boxes. I have found out that Graham has been struck off the companies register a few times, and if this is how he operates a "business", then I am not surprised. Do not use these people, they are the most unprofessional moving company I have ever used."

    "We used Auckland Movers for the first time after being recommended to us by our real estate agent. These guys were excellent. They worked through the rain, bad access at both pick up and drop off addresses. This was a all day job these guys didnt take a break until the job was completed. Highly recommend these guys nothing got damaged as had happened to us previous movers."

    "I would not recommend this company. The only reason I used them was because I was to move on a Sunday before a public holiday and this was the only company that would do it. I had a 3 bedroom lot in boxes in a single garage ready to go and was quoted for 3 hours. It ended up being 5.5 hours as one of the moving guys was so slow and it seemed like he was a mate called in on a Sunday. We started to help him so he stood back and watched! They unplugged a freezer cord that I specifically said would stay in the garage and threw it into another room. Denied they did this - no-one else was there! The owner came back after 2 weeks overseas to warm rotting meat in the freezer. I was told I could pay by credit card when booking, but was asked/told 3 times (!) did I have the cash? And eventually I was railroaded in going to an ATM to withdraw cash - horrible pressure. I had to go pick up family from the airport and they did a small pick up from another address close by for me, when I got back the garage was wide open with all my belongings in it! Another denial. When I phoned to ask for explanations I was told how sorry they were and they would look into it for insurance (on my insistence). I have emailed/phoned many times now with a brush off everytime. Not rude but evasive. Please don't make the mistake I did - don't use them."

    "Have been meaning to review for the last few weeks, we moved in April of this year. We had trouble getting the date and time as they were booked out two weekends in advance. The guys were great, they even took away some rubbish that we couldn't leave at the property which was a lifesaver as the new tenants were moving in the same afternoon. Would definitely recommend to others, have only moved once before but this was significantly better than the last time."

    "Moved from Mt Eden to Botany. Spoke to Graham who was great to deal with. The truck arrived on time with a great bunch of guys. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. They were friendly, worked really hard and completed the move in the time quoted. Fantastic service from start to finish couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!!"

    "I too like others on this website wish I had read the comments about Auckland Movers before booking with these guys. Had email communication with Graham, all seemed fine. Booked a 1pm pickup with my property (West Auckland move) which I had sold and was settling the next day, it was important I had time to get everything out, settle into the new place, move the pets and clean the old house. I\'d allowed myself enough time to do all these things....should they have arrived when they said they would.

    1.15pm no sign. I get in touch with Graham, and like others there was no record of my booking. He called me back (during which time I sent him the email communication we had confirming a 1pm booking) and he said the guys were just unloading a couple of sofas and would be with me by 2pm. 2pm comes and goes. I get a phonecall from other guy Hamish I believe to say the guys are on their way at 2.15pm. I rush back to the property to meet them, and they don\'t arrive till 3.15pm! Two hours after the original booking, and it completely stuffed up my timings.

    I ended up helping the 2 guys who came to move the bigger items as I didnt have time to wait for them to move everything themselves. After a mad dash back and forth, and having to leave the guys unpacking at the other end, I get back at 6.15pm to the the guys giving me the invoice and they had apparently been told id pay such communication was ever given.

    I refused to pay the callout fee, and wasnt happy to pay the full amount I was being charged either. By that time I was fed up, and after another phonecall gave them my credit card details and told them this would be the last conversation we ever had. I would never recommend this guys ever. Considering other peoples feedback on these guys it seems to be a reoccurring problem.

    "Oh dear, shocked to see how much bad feedback there is on this company, wish I had known!!
    My flat mate had used their services the week prior (on my recommendation) and I had used the same services 2 years prior, both very positive experiences. However my last move has left a lot to be desired.
    The movers arrived on time and were friendly, but they didn\'t pay attention and their ability to physically lift is pathetic for a moving company:
    1. I had covered the two bases and mattress of a $5k bed with their original covers and stressed that the covers must stay on. While moving from the first location, the cover ended up half off and dirty hand prints left on the mattress! At the new location, one of the bases was dropped and damaged. Absolute no care was taken when moving in through the garage, scrapping another edge on the garage door, once again the cover half off. I had to, for the 5th time, be stern with them and only then were they careful with the rest.

    2. No covers were placed over the whiteware or furniture - that is pure laziness. The straps were placed directly onto the items, damaging an expensive fridge. Boxes and smaller furniture were not tied down - when the truck was opened, I saw boxes had fallen across the truck as well as a couch fallen over - unacceptable!!

    3. Boxes have been pierced, the fridge door and furniture damaged. The way furniture was carried up the driveway was also completely unacceptable. A long chest of drawers was effectively cantilevered off a trolley, and due to the weight of clothing, the whole cabinet was bending, damaging the whole unit - I had to knock it back into place so that the drawers would actually work! Despite advising customers there\'s no need to empty the drawers, they are unable to lift them!

    4. I had not seen this but it is very clear that while carrying certain cabinets, drawers and doors opened. In one instance, an expensive cleaning product for bikes fell out and all contents was emptied out. The movers replaced the lid and simply threw the bottle back into the cupboard. They did not say anything and the leaked product subsequently stained other items in the cupboard!

    5. THEFT - this is the worst part, they\'re stealing items!! A pair of expensive earphones were taken from a cabinet drawer. I had searched many times to be sure but I know exactly where I keep them and it was evident that all the drawers had popped open.

    This experience was extremely unprofessional, lazy, incapable, unacceptable and dishonest.

    6. Their truck broke down so therefore were unable to drive up the driveway to offload, clearly no maintenance on their own equipment.

    I wrote to Graham with feedback and requested a response, nothing! So here I am advising everyone against using them..

    "We were abused and threatened by the driver when we asked that they cover valuable furniture, the company owner Graham then accused me of being aggressive. Of course I became agressive when threatened by the driver.
    Use these people at your peril, has to be the worst move ever......

    Use another carrier this one is the pits......."

    "I booked my move online (from Browns Bay to Torbay), and was given very good service, even when I changed the move date and time, all seemed good. They even rang to confirm that the move was still going ahead and the time the truck would arrive. After that things went wrong.
    The truck was booked for 8.30am on Thursday, at 9am I rang the office to find out where the truck was, told there had been mix up and driver did not receive instruction, was on his way to collect truck and would be awhile as he was on the other side. At 11.30 I rang and had to leave a message as no one was answering the phone, at 12.30pm I rang back and had to leave another message (still no truck), demanded someone ring me back. Finally they phoned back at 12.45pm, saying sorry truck was double booked, guys would be there at 1pm. Truck showed up just before 2pm, 5 1/2 hours late!!

    Move took 4hours instead of the estimated 3hours as the guys were obviously tired. They managed to damage pretty much every piece of furniture I own, with dents and scratches to my dining room table, hutch dresser, headboard and draws, they also took a large piece out of the computer desk. Also they plugged in the fridge straight away and this was the contributing factor to the compressor blowing up within a few hours of moving in. (Of course damage not done in transit, so not covered!)

    All in all would recommend you stay away from this company, it all looks good on the website and to start with, but shocking after that.

    "I moved from a 4-bedroomed home in Murrays Bay to a small 2 bedroom one in Birkenhead in May.
    The driver and one other guy turned up on time and both worked quickly to load the truck.
    My move involved using these guys twice as there was a few days before I could move into the new place so my goods were placed in a well-run, security-monitored storage facility in Mairangi Bay.
    During the time my goods were in storage no other person entered the lock up unit. All goods were in good condition when the unloading was complete.

    A few days later the same two guys turned up to load up again for the onward move. I was suddenly approached by the driver of the truck who told me that one of the legs of my very solidly constructed dining table was loose and the wood was split in two. I went to look. It was. I was told it was like this when they lifted it up to load into the truck and that it must have happened in the lockup.

    The move went ahead, the unloading completed at the new residence. I paid them but then an hour later discovered all my bedlegs were missing. I had bought these beds while living overseas and to date I have been unable to find any suitable locally which will fit the bed bases.

    Cost of repair of the table $250. WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN as when I approached them to claim from the company insurance, was told that the drivers are owner/drivers and are not employed by Auckland Movers. I was told that any claim is limited to damage while in transit (under the Carriage of Goods Act) and my damage was not in transit but while in storage.

    "Well, where to start. I have moved a lot so yes before I move I have an estimate in my mind as to how long a job should probably take.
    One of my last moves was into a 5 bedroom house with my mother and siblings. 5 bedrooms = a lot of stuff. For this job we didn\'t use Auckland Movers (I couldn\'t remember their name or I would have used them again). Anyway, they loaded/unloaded a lot of stuff to fill a 5 bedroom house in 2 1/2 hours, with 3 guys. They worked super fast and were friendly.
    Now to my last move with Auckland Movers. This time I was moving out of my familys home, into a small 2 bedroom house (so not a lot of stuff).

    The only positive part of my experience is that they showed up on time. Now our driveway was just a straight, easy driveway with enough room to fit the truck. They took 15 MINUTES just to reverse half the truck into the driveway. First they put it forward, then hopped out and talked about it, then drove out, talked some more,, and finally reversed in. It was painstaking to watch.

    Don\'t be fooled by the website saying they provide \'2 movers\'. This is actually ONE mover and ONE truck driver. One of the guys stood inside the truck 95% of the time tying every single item down (even stuff that didn\'t need to be) and did it so SLOWLY. Because he was doing it so slowly, the actual \'mover\' was kinda hanging about half the time, because the other guy was taking so long. They basically acted like they had all the time in the world.

    One guy had incredibly dirty hands, so when they left I found some of my new white shelves were covered in black smudges that still won\'t come off, as well as mine and my sons mattress and my fridge. They also scratched my son\'s cot a lot.

    They were about to leave when I pointed out one of my couch cushions was still in their truck, otherwise they would have taken it. After they left I also noticed they took 2 shelves from a bookcase of mine.

    While they were unpacking I called his boss to complain. This guy acted like a complete ****. Most companies have the policy \'the customer is always right\' and will actually listen to their customers and try to resolve any problems. Well this guy talked to me like I was dirt, and told me it was absolutely reasonable for them to take 1 1/2 hours to pack up 2 bedrooms, and told me I was lying when I said the last guys did 5 bedrooms in that amount of time. He told me then that I had to pay his movers before they even finished or they would stop unpacking. I ended up hanging up on him he was such an ****. You do not treat paying customers that way.

    Anyway, the whole job ended up taking 3 hours for a small 2 bedroom house. Longer than the last movers for a 5 bedroom house (with only 1 extra guy).

    "Turned up late, but not by a huge degree. Lots of them - looked promising. Immediately apparent to us though that they would not be able to move us. They had turned up in a truck big enough to fit the contents of Buckinham Palace into. We had previously made it very clear in email correspondance that 1) We only had a small 2 bed flat to move 2) Access at the other end was difficult & up a VERY narrow right of way. My husband pointed this out repeatedly to the man in charge but they just went ahead & loaded our stuff anyway. However once it was all loaded they had a complete change of heart, decided that we were talking sense, unloaded our stuff into the garage & buggered off without a care in the world. No offer for alternative arrangements. Also insisted that they were paid in full for their time. My husband rang the office & talked to a rudewomen who insisted that it was our fault/denied ever having received any emails. Grudgingly rang aroung & found someone who could do it the next day. This happened to be Waitaingi Day & the whole thing cost us quite a bit of money. No apologies offered. If the second (very good ) firm had not been able to step in the whole move would have come a cropper. They just didn\'t care. Worst tradesmen I have ever encoutered. Total cowboys - DO NOT USE THIS FIRM."

    "Used these guys for a house move back in January. We had advised them that we had a tight stairwell and to move all big objects over the balcony to the ground below. They insisted on moving one tall boy through the stairwell and caused damage to the walls in the process. As it was a rental we had to pay for the damage to be repaired at considerable cost. Would never use these guys again as they were expensive and caused damage... not impressed"

    "The AA movers were the most unprofessional and rude movers. Firstly they arrived 3hours late, and then after being warned to be careful moving a bed down a narrow set of stairs, managed to put a hole in the wall!! At the other end, one of the movers demanded to be paid first and refused to accept liability for the damage...also threatened to throw our effects into the street if we didn't pay. We then asked to speak to the OWNER who was equally rude and obnoxious, and only after extended arguing agreed on giving us a pathetic discount. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM EVEN IF THEY WERE THE LAST MOVERS ON THE EARTH!!!"

    "We booked Auckland Movers 3 weeks in advance to move our belongings on the 4th of December at 0900hrs. We were completely ready to move by 0900hrs but Auckland Movers never turned up.

    We rung them, eventually they found our booking, but then kept us waiting for two hours while they checked out which of their drivers could come and move us. Finally nearing midday they offered to move us in the late afternoon, which was completely impossible for us. We had to change to a different company which, because of the last minute booking meant that we had to pay considerably higher costs. We would have been much better to go with the other company from the beginning and saved ourselves money.

    I wrote to Auckland Movers asking for an explanation and an apology but there was no answer. I would not recommend this company no matter what the circumstance.

    "Not impressed with this company. I completed their online quote form and received a prompt reply which was great. I elected to use them and emailed them to advise. Didn't hear back. Phoned to follow up and was advised that they'd get back to me as they were busy, fair enough. Didn't hear back. Followed up with an email and got a confirmation from Graham.
    Moving day arrived and they didn't turn up. Phoned to see where they were (45 minutes later) to be told that they couldn't find my booking. Eventually heard from Graham who told me that he definately had my booking and the mover should be there shortly. Received a phone call from a different company (another hour later) to advise that they'd just received the job from Graham as "he couldn't do it" and that they'd be there shortly. They eventually arrived and we were finally moved about 3 hours after we were meant to be.

    $260.00 later, which is cheap but not worth the hassle.

    Would not recommend especially as moving is a stressful enough situation without the movers not turning up!

    I don't like leaving bad feedback but how else do they learn?

    "They did not arrive on the agreed time, they were half an hour early but instead of getting started after being shown around by a friend they sat in the truck. I found these guys incredibly slow. They left many things behind. Despite being told it was a houseload they appeared surprised at the quantity of goods and I had to constantly direct them to the areas needing loading despite already showing them around. In the end it took them so long that I said not to bother I will take the leftovers myself. As loading took so long, I got help from friends to unload which they didnt seem to mind as they looked exhausted. Then when it came to paying bill, he wanted to charge me an hour more due to the fact he had a birthday party to attend to and was already late. He also said we needed to pay for his break and for the fact that he was early to the job - he might have been early but did not start the job - none of this was mentioned in the quote at all. NOT at all what I would have expected from supposedly professional movers."

    "Very inexperienced, dropped numerous items on the way to the truck. We were charged twice the amount quoted in the estimate. Their hourly rate is not bad but you will end up paying more because they charge for their long breaks and work very slowly. "

    "Arrived late, couldn?t find the house took long breaks (HOURS!) and expected me to pay for them. As single woman I felt fear for my personal safety. Would never use again nor recommend to anybody else. "
