    "perfect - easy to speak with - I had a very fifficult fault that no less than 10 workshops had looked t before with no avail, Bristols was my last chance. I noitced all cars they put floor and seat mats in too. Anyway the FIXED my problem fairy quickly , called with updates and next logical step - so i was always informed along the way.. Final invoice cheaper than expected. Car has run faultlessly now since pick up

    "Charged for over 10 hours ($1200) work on a transmission fault and problem not fixed.
    Maybe their egos got in the way before ringing someone who had more nous than themselves as I was told by Rick that he had finally rung an Auto electrician who had run into the same problems with the same model of car and he was reasonably confident he could fix it.
    Absolutely disgusting customer service.
    1st and last time I will ever use these thieves.

    "Bristol Motors have been looking after our cars; two moderns, one vintage and one classic car since 1994. The work they did ranged from a common service, to more detailed maintenance and to full restoration and rebuilts. Everything they do is to our full satisfaction; they are exemplorary in their quality of work, in depth knowlegde and professionalism. In the odd occasion that things were not right, they fixed it with a smile. We can not recommend them highly enough. And yes, they are not cheap. There are plenty of low cost garages around, but we prefer not to use those: it is all about value for money. Keep up the good work, guys."

Dave and his staff can also undertake a myriad of automotive repairs to a very high standard. I\'ve also had upholstery work done, chassis repairs, as well as other general maintenance - very satisfied.     "dave was terrible to deal with.his only concern is trying to charge you for 8 hours every day not the job at hand.did lots of work that wasnt discussed .zero communication .carpets terribly installed
    stuff not finished .just an overall bad experience .iill never go there again

    "I found Bristol Motors in 1994 when another Upper Hutt firm ripped me off. Enquiry amongst car-knowledgeable people led me to Bristols. And I've been taking a range of cars to them ever since - 1979 Mini to 1972 V8 Rover to modern Japanese run-abouts. These guys are for serious owners who want a good job done.

    I wouldn't say they they are the cheapest on a straight price basis, but when you factor in getting the job done properly first time, and not having to pay for things that go wrong later, they're cost effective. They also do a lot of work on vintage vehicles - repair and restoration: engine, transmission and body work - extra good wood and leather work. People who own these sort of (very valuable) cars don't mess about with incompetent pseudo mechanics.

    Honest so far as I know. I've never had a problem with unwanted extra work being done or add-ons to the bill of dubious value. They call me if there's anything that they think I need to have done, or give me warning of a job that's going to need doing soon.

    "I cannot understand the comments left with regards to Dave's work. I came on here to rate him highly and was very surprised to read these comments. I have an old Holden Sunbird, Bristol Motors have serviced it since 1990 when I bought it off my dad. I suspect that people are not taking responsibilty for themsleves or their cars , if reception are rude then perhaps your tone is accusative and aggressive..I work in retail sales and customers can be bullies and show appalling levels of rudeness and aggression and from experience DO NOT want to pay for things and turn their ears off when extra money is sought. If you want flashy coffee and chrome fittings then go to a main dealer where you will not talk to the person that does the work , you'll get an advisor who probably has nothing like the knowledge of Dave and his guys. When I last was there he was fitting a brand new Bentley engine to a hearse , not a job for the inexperienced or faint hearted...all of his work must be word of mouth , I rarely see an advert and he has no website.

    Customers in my opinion have the power to induce pleasant service through their own actions and manners...I'm sticking up for Dave.
