    "Do not use this guy. He came to our house twice in 2018 starting in March to wire up a stove top. He failed to connect the elements properly on both occasions. He failed to issue a Code of Compliance certificate. I refused to have him back a third time. Hot plates 1 and 2 will not come on unless either hotplate 3 or 4 is also on. He became unpleasant to deal with."
    Donald responded:
    "Kevin requested I attend his property and replace an existing hob with a replacement one he had purchased on TradeMe. The replacement hob came without the copper links and I requested that Kevin either source the original links from the Trade Me seller or source new links. I connected 2 of the 4 elements on the hob to allow Kevin to have some cooking available in the meantime. Some weeks later Kevin contacted me saying the parts he had sourced had arrived. However, when I went back they were clearly for a different product. Kevin was frustrated and angry at this. I decided to make up copper links instead and fitted them accordingly. The hob was tested and all elements were working. An Electrical Safety Certificate was then filled out and embedded into the invoice. Approximately a week later Kevin phoned to advise no. 3 element would not work unless no. 2 was on. I advised this would be an internal fault and was happy to check this out, however he declined the offer. Kevin then seemed angry and frustrated, which was probably due to buying a second hand hob probably 10 years old and then having to deal with it not working properly. Approximately 12 months later a review pops up on this website telling potential clients I was unregistered and did not provide a certificate of compliance. This is a complete fabrication and I was prepared to take legal action on the basis that this was simply not true and defamatory. After I contacted Kevin in an attempt to discuss the issues he did change this review, retracting the statement regarding me not being registered so no further action was necessary regarding this point. However he was still unwilling to discuss or attempt to resolve the real issue of the stove with the missing parts. Kevin advised me not to send him any further digital correspondence and not to contact him again. He was unwilling to discuss the matter and became belligerent and obstructive to both resolving the matter and acknowledging that the faults / issues were due to the nature of the product, i.e. a 10 year old stove bought off Trade Me which did not have all the necessary parts. He seemed aggressive and sent me a video he had made for a Telco entitled “ see you in Court” with himself playing the main role. All documentation for this job including his video is available on request including the original invoice. I have a separate file dedicated to this client. I value my reputation and my ability to provide a quality service to clients. I work with them to resolve their electrical issues. However in this case I was prevented from even attempting to do this."

    "I called Donald to see if he could help with an urgent job repairing an outdoor power point that had been installed by another electrician only seven months ago, and which had suddenly stopped working. It was a Saturday just three days after Xmas, so I wasn't sure if I'd have any luck finding someone who could help.

    I couldn't have been more impressed! Donaled was on his way back from the Coromandel but he was at my house within 30 minutes. He did a very competent job and charged a very reasonable amount. Clearly the previous electrician had not done a good job as the outdoor fitting hadn't been properly sealed and water had gotten inside it, so I won't be using that electrician again. I'll definitely be calling Donald from now on for any future electrical jobs."
