    "Charged top dollar for a poor job. I was charged $90 for less than 15 minutes work. There was no fireplace inspection, no chimney or flue inspection.
    I've since done some market research and found out that I was charged at least double the going rate for this work. Tried to contact the owner to discuss but he wasn't interested.

    "Have used these people for 5 years. Their communication is amazing - texts to let me know if the weather is too bad for them to work, follow-up phone calls at a sensible time of day (i.e. not during my busy working day).
    I can\'t recommend them highly enough.

    "After having used Chimney Clinic for a few years and being happy with their service, this all came unstuck in 2012.

    While accessing the the roof top to sweep the flue, the Chimney Clinic chap broke the spouting on the house by leaning a ladder on to it with out any support. On acknowledging his error, he took photos of the damage and then continued to complete the job.

    On completion of the work he requested payment, this was done in good faith on the basis that we had dealt with the Chimney Clinic for a number of years and that he gave us an assurance that the spouting would be repaired.

    Some weeks later we had heard nothing from the Chimney Clinic. I rang three times and while the office staff were polite assured me that the new of the problem no action was taken. E mails then followed seeking some form of assurance that they would make good the repairs. Finally, three months later Geoff responded and assured me the repairs would be taken to subject to fine weather.

    You guessed it Two weeks of fine weather passed but no repairs were undertaken and no explanation offerred. Out of frustrtaion, I did the work myself and replaced the broken guttering

    Fast forward 12 months, we get a call from Chiney Clinic oferring to clean our chimney! My partner expressed her dissatisfaction with their last efforts and invited them to make good the situation. Again no response - unbelievable really.

    My recommendation is not to use the Chimney Clinic - regrettably it seems they are cowboys of the first order.

    "had booked sweep a week in advance, he was late on the day. got up in our ceiling (first time we've ever seen this) and proceeded to walk on bats, not frame (!!!!) absolute no-no!! so, from him walking on bats he put three holes in our ceiling!!! owner came next day to check damage then left without any agreement on repair work. said he would speak to insurers first. we received a call a few days later from his office administrator to get our insurance to pay for damage, apparently this was what their insurance company told them to do (!!!!) - again, another thing i've never heard of!! 2-3 weeks later, we arranged to have their contractor to quote work. had arranged with him a suitable day and time, two days in advance however 3 hours after arranged time he is a no show. rung him and he said he'd had an operation that morning and could not drive.. we knew he was going to the hospital for an appt. absolutely at boiling point now. spoke to owner again this day, seems as though if we want it fixed ASAP, we need to arrange the quote... we had a quote on hand however didn't think we should need to get involved in this process as it was his workers fault, he should sort it! provided ac details to transfer agreed amount (he did give extra as an apology) and money in ac next day. absolutely would not recommend these people, had to get chimney re-swept and they were great to deal with and half the price of chimney clinic! although geoff seems nice, hiring staff that lack the skills needed just reflects bad on him... absolutely horrible experience!!! i think repair work should have been sorted the same week and not left for us to keep chasing it up.. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND."

    "I had my fireplace booked for cleaning on the 7 dec however they didn\'t show up until 9 Dec with no phone call to say why there was a no show. Was there for less than 5 min and left all the soot in the fireplace. Charged $77.00 for less than 5 min work and soot all round the top of the firplace. I will not be asking them back and would not recommend them to anyone. Tempted to cancell cheque as I could have done a better job. "
