"Seen me coming I paid 120 for a diagnostic which was 10 mins long, then the oldhead sat me on the couch with his clipboard and quoted me $1800 bucks to remove the front bumper and replace the pressure switch and see if it worked, if it didn't it was around 5k to remove part of the suspension and install a new compressor, it felt super scammy and commission based, I went home and called a mobile service Arctic autos he came out and had it done in 2hrs including going to get parts for 700 bucks. Coolcar Northshore is a complete rip-off"

"RUN, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. I took my car there in a couple of years ago when a bird crashed through the grill and damaged the condenser. they said that the insurance would only cover a repair not replacement so they repaired it. In May this year I took it back because the aircon was leaking. They tested overnight to see where the leak was and then quoted me $1300 to replace the condenser saying that the interior evaporator was not leaking. I imported a new condenser from USA and in October installed it myself. due to Covid the car sat in my garage all that time. When I took it back there in October to re-gas the new condenser I was told there was no point as the aircon was leaking from the evaporator and I was quoted $3100 to repair it. I mentioned that he had confirmed in May that the evaporator was not leaking and the Jeep had been parked the whole time. I was then feed a line about how things can start to leak at any time. I was very dubious so took it to another aircon place who re-gassed it and confirmed that it was not leaking at all. Do not use this business unless you enjoy blowing your money. Go somewhere honest."

"PLEASE for the love of God, please do not go here.

I went here as the aircon "off" button was faulty and I thought maybe it was fixable or I was able to buy a unit to install.

On arrival, there was no customer service, just some guy smoking in uniform looking at me as if I didnt belong there. Be it I opened my mouth first and said I called few mins ago to fix my aircon. Their reply was oh mustve been Dave. And the silence continued. I had to explain I have to get my aircon fixed to be even awknowledged that maybe I was there to get something fixed.

Not long after my car was seen and as I mentioned, it was just the unit switch that had been broken (which I already knew) and asked if it can be fixed. They said unlikely and brought a second hand unit from the storage. I asked him how much it would cost and got a quote of $250. Knowing unit only costs about 50-70 on trademe or salavage yard having done this previously, I asked if I could buy the unit but place it myself. I didnt ask multiple times, not even twice, but quite politely, once. The owner of the place comes out and says take your car out. Take your car out.

Not going to lie, I was so confused why such a gentle question provoked such an agressive and poor service. Being a rip off is one thing. Being an ass of a human being is another. You would think that at least they wouldve said they dont do that as their profit comes from service. But no.

Please do not go here. The service is poor and I'm sure previous comments and my experience can clearly show you how much of a ripoff this place is.

"I have a 2003 Primera that has given me great performance in the air conditioning department over the years but had recently started to fade. Took it in to CoolCar North Shore who gave an on-the spot inspection and prescribed a service (well overdue - this should be done every two years apparently). They were able to do both the inspection and the service on the same day and at the same time saving me a trip back. After replacing some seals and re-gassing the air conditioner is running brilliantly now, better than it has done in years. Excellent job, and can recommend them for a competent, cost-effective and friendly service!"

"Only delay was in sourcing the stepper motor. Which they found for $105. Charged 2.5 hours labour for installation (about $225) I'm not sure if this is a lot. Aparently it was quite difficualt access as they had to remove the centre console so it could be quite reasonable. Very satisfied with the quality of the work. My air conditioning is running again just in time for summer thankgoodness. Very friendly staff, easy to talk to and explained everything, they were happy to answer all my questions. No Discount for cash though ;-)"

"Excellent service! Job ended up way under the quote when circumstances changed. Greg drove to the other side of Auckland to get a part for my car after it had been delayed. He also took my car to a mechanic to listen to a strange engine noise before delivering it to the painters on my behalf.

After delays caused by sourcing parts Greg bent over backwards to minimise any inconvenience to me and the next tradespeople who were waiting for my vehicle.

All in all, I was blown away by the quality of service."

"My daughter's car air con needed a bearing replaced as it got wet (don't ask how!). She was spared potentially a large expense by some nimble work in doing the repair. The fan belt was left a bit loose but on a subsequent return it was tensioned corectly and no further problems. I recommend this business for good, honest service."
