    "First, let me accentuate the positive: Dewar are professional, punctual, well-presented, and friendly. The quality of their work cannot be faulted. But I was not happy with the bill. I was charged $268 for two minor repairs to my cooktop and rangehood, which took around 20 minutes. I was not informed of the $85 callout fee (which includes 10 minutes of labour) or that they charge for labour in ten minute chunks at $15 each. I was billed for 4 x 10 minute chunks on top of the time that is included with the callout fee, so 50 minutes. When I called to query this I spoke to Jo and was told that this was all in the terms and conditions and that I should have read them on their website. I do not think that it is realistic to expect a customer to do that, especially when they have called you on the phone. Even when you book a job through the website, it does not make you aware of the terms and conditions, let alone prompt you to read them. I have since read their terms and conditions - which are tucked away at the bottom of the page - and while the cancellation clause does mention a callout fee, it doesn't specify how much it is or under what circumstance it is charged. It also does not mention how much labour rates are or how they are calculated. The good news is that Jo has since amended my bill to a more than satisfactory level, and I thank her for that. I hope that in future, Dewar Appliances is more upfront about their charges."

    "26.7.17 Dishwasher 6yr old playing up called Tharcold good response would have someone there the next day. He was obnoxious took one look at the dishwasher and said it was too old, reset a button got the bill by email paid it the next day have had repeated calls from them asking for payment, which I provided information. dates bank details that were sent to them on numerous occasions.Finally got it sorted Friday 7.8.17 Dishwasher decided to not work again, not calling Tharcolds, so looked on Now Cowboys to see who could help me Dewar came up,. Got Paul, he was so nice, he replaced the problem , which should have happened initially at a cost of $40 Dave is great the whole team is great, such great service with a smile and practicable solutions, not you dishwasher is too old Thanks Guys"

    "A few weeks ago several plastic connections in my rather elderly SMEG dishwasher, disintegrated. I called Dewars who asked me to send the model details and a photo of the dishwasher etc. I thoroughly expected to be told that it was beyond repair and I would need a new dishwasher, but within days Paul emailed me to say he had sourced the parts. In the meantime something else broke, so he promptly found that part too. They didn't need a technician to screw them in so I could collect when I wanted. Excellent communication and excellent service. My appliance repairer of choice from now on."

    "I highly recommend Dewar Appliance Repairs. Rhys, Mel and Paul were an absolute pleasure to deal with and worked really hard to find the fault with our Bosch washing machine. They let me know at each stage what they were doing and communicated clearly at every point. In the end we were not able to fix the machine (it wasn't worth it due to its age), so they refunded the cost of parts they had replaced and charged us only for the house visits. We send a work order and I know that the tenant will be contacted that day, and Dewars will be there to rectify the issue swiftly. This is really important as I know it is dealt with, and my tenants know that their white ware will be up and running as soon as possible. Invoices arrive promptly and have a good amount of detail.     "I've had Paul repair my washing machine a couple times in the past. Seeing as he was so friendly and helpful it was only right for me to call him to look at our fridge when it decided to die. It was gutting became we weren't in a financial position to replace with a new one.     "Called them in to fix a dishwasher at a flat. We had agreed with the tenants that they would pay for the repairs as they had not informed us that it was broken until we inspected the place. The technician informed the tenants that there is a weak spot on the door where it breaks and that they were new tenants and was not their responsibility for the repairs. This was all that was needed for the tenants not to pay for the repairs. We will not be using them for this repairs and any other repairs we may have."

    "Contacted them late on Thursday and they turned up first thing Monday morning, so very happy with that. Pleasant serviceman (even brought the paper in off the lawn) quickly diagnosed two possible causes and rapdily narrowed it down to one. Offered the option of bypassing the faulty part (a stove timer) rather than replacing it, so saved us money right away. Quickly fixed the issue, cost $90. Just a note to others... their reply to my email got stuck in my spam filter, so if you email them, add dewarappliances.co.nz to your whitelist, or check your junk mail folder for a reply."

    "My experience with Dewar has been excellent from start to finish. My initial phone call was answered promptly by a friendly, professional and efficient woman, who was very accommodating and arranged for a technician to come to my home the next day. Today, James arrived nice and early to fix both my washing machine and dryer. I found him to be polite and friendly and generally a very nice person to have in my home. He identified the issues quickly, gave me some good, sensible advice re washing products and performance of my machine, and was able to chat to me while he was working, the best example of a man multi-tasking i have ever seen. So far both machines are looking fixed and fab and I was happy with the bill. I am extremely satisfied with the very high standard of service I have received from James at Dewar. I will definitely be asking for him when I use them again in future, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone with appliance problems."

    "We had two jobs to carry out in Hataitai. One to repair a dish washer of many years vintage and the second to repair an oven of similar age. The two jobs were professionally handled from the time of first contact by telephone. Scheduled calling times were kept; care was taken not to mess up the kitchen; explanations were given as to why the problems existed and repairs done promptly; and the result was two aged appliances in perfect working order. When my dishwasher failed, Dewer were there within a day of my ringing to fix the problem, and they fixed another problem with my oven while they were there...that makes them special in my eyes...Coincidently the same day the dishwasher gave up the ghost again and that is where Dewer became ‘extraordinary’ expert technicians. Not only did they come back the same day, they replaced and discounted the new parts and did not charge me any labour. If you need any repair jobs, I can thoroughly recommend them, you won’t be disappointed."

    "The technician came in to fix our F&P dishwasher, was very professional and diagnosed the problem and explained it clearly. He had to come back another day due to a part he needed but he was clear when he would come back. When he came back, he was on time and called us to make sure we were home. He installed the part and gave it a bit of a service. A job very well done."

    "Have used on several occasions for rental properties, always prompt, helpful and reliable. After reading the comment below I think that if someone lets a broken washing machine \"literally wreck their life\" then perhaps they should consider getting a new life. If an appliance is broken beyond repair and a new machine required, this is a decision has nothing to do with the repair person - that\'s the owners responsibility and decision and probably one they made reluctantly. Don\'t let one ridiculous and unreasonable review affect your opinion of this professional provider."

    "Paul Dewar\'s company has given us the worst repair service which I have had the misfortune to experience in 33 years of life. Paul contracts with the Quinovic rental company, which is obligated to repair or replace defective appliance covered by our rental agreement. It took five visits, three weeks, and at least a score calls to get the washing machine replaced. On the first three visits, Mr. Dewar pronounced wildly unrelated causes for the fault (a failure of the spin cycle)~ first a bad motherboard, then clogged drainage, then a loose peice of plastic. After each visit the machine broke down shortly, with nothing changed, and it took a rather angry call to his office to convince them to loan us a working washing machine for our apartment rather than simply leave us with a nonfunctional appliance. Then, a week, later, Mr. Dewar brought the old machine around for a replacement, which failed moments after his exit due to his failure to plug in the hot water correctly. He returned later that day and fixed problem only to have the original spin cycle problem return once more. We had to threaten to withhold rent from Quinovic to get the machine replaced, which Mr. Dewar did everything in his power to avoid, presumably to save cost. The whole affair cost us two weeks of a functional apartment, $450 in lost home business revenues, two lost peices of clothing, 5 nights of full sleep (I work a night shift), and three weeks of helpless agony... and I write this assuming that today actually is the end of the matter. We spent part of that time without clean towels or underwear. Simply put, Mr. Dewar\'s incompetence wrecked three weeks of my own and my husband\'s life, and I would not recommend that anyone place trust in this man\'s hands."

    "Would highly recommend. Paul was on time, having called and let us know he was coming. He came and immediately could tell us the problem with our washing machine and had the part in his van. He fixed another smaller problem with a spring in our washing machine without us even having to ask. Great communication and reasonable price which can be hard to find in this day and age."

    "Dewar Appliances gave a very good service. They knew what they were talking about over the phone (and pretty much diagnosed the problem then). Came to assess the oven, ordered the new parts necessary, and returned to fit them all within a week. The cost was very reasonable (with no charge for the \'diagnostic\' visit), and communication was excellent. A recommended company!"

    "I\'ve used Dewar maybe 30 times over the last year-year and a half. They\'ve been great. They are miles ahead on service - good to see a company putting the energy in (it shows guys). I\'ve used a lot of different companies in Wellington in the past - there are some shockers out there so beware. It\'s Kane from Jericho Residential Property Management here if anyone wants a personal reference (anonymous references are meaningless imo). "
