"We originally contacted a number of drainage contractors, but ended up going with Derrick and the team as he was open and honest from the outset. He gave a thorough quote complete with diagrams and maps of work to be completed. We had a relatively complex job, and Derrick and his team got the work done quickly, efficiently and he kept in constant contact to outline what had been completed and estimated completion dates. The result has been fantastic - no more flooding, and we can now sleep at… night when it rains instead of standing outside in the pouring rain bailing water for hours. Tradesmen aren't always known for their communication skills, but Derrick is an exception to this rule. Really impressed with the professionalism and efficiency, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Derrick and the team to anybody looking for a drainage contractor."

"This time, the sewage pipe of my house was unexpected block up. Derrick and his team do the very good job like last time. Jason came in a short time after my call and identified the cause of problem was the thick tree roots blocking up the Council manhole. He immediately partial unblocked it to allow the water flowing. Than, help to contact Watercare to throughly fix the problem. Thank you for your professional services. "

"I am very disappointed with Drain Direct who I contacted because of their favourable ratings on this website. I have used the company twice for drain repair jobs and in both cases there have been issues with their charging. The first time was in March this year. They unblocked a drain and then told me about the repair that was needed to stop it blocking again. They did the repair and I was home for most of the time the workmen were there. When I got the invoice the number of hours charged… were more than the time spent on the job. I had to question Derrick (the owner) about this and after he checked with his workmen he agreed that the charge for the hours should be reduced. I thought they had made a simple mistake and so I called them again when I had another drain blockage under my driveway in September. They came and cleared the blockage. The same drain blocked again two weeks later and so I called them to come and unblock it which they did and told me what repair was needed. Derrick said it would cost about $800 plus G.S.T. to cut part of the concrete driveway and replace part of the pipe and the job would take about 4 hours for two men. However when I got the invoice I had been charged for a total of 24.75 hours for labour. Part of this charge related to putting in the new concrete (about one square metre). Even allowing 4 hours for the concrete the hours spent on the drain repair were still 20.75 which is more than two and a half times what I had been led to expect. When Derrick was questioned about this he said the workmen had encountered some rock and tree roots when they were digging. I have paid the invoice in full as I did not want to get into another discussion regarding the charges. However I made it clear to Derrick that I was not happy with the amount charged. This whole experience has not been good. It is frustrating and annoying when you are given a false expectation as to the cost of a job and the time it will take to complete. I can’t help but think the job could have been done in a more timely and efficient manner."

Due to contractor's prior commitments unfortunately work could not commence immediately.
Well worth a short delay.
Contractor came on site exactly as promised.
Worked steadily on the project to finish to a high standard.
Our payment made immediately in recognition of satisfactory outcome. "

"Really great service - having the drains done was something I've been putting off for years, but it had to be done. Derrick was really helpful, and kept me up to date with what was going on (and responding kindly to daft questions), and Jackson did a wonderful job ... even putting the dirt back in the same spot so the garden doesn't need any remediation. Lovely folk to deal with, great job and really reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend giving Drain Direct a call, something pleasant in… what is usually unpleasant business. "Derek responded very promptly to our call - we had a blocked drain on a Sunday - we had visitors staying. Their truck arrived first thing Monday morning and they located the blockage on council land - Derek contacted Watercare for us and has helped us try and recoup the cost from Watercare. When I had no satisfaction initially from Watercare he rang them for me, found out which form I should fill out and then helped me complete the form. Can't thank him enough -a very reasonable charge for… all he did for us. A very decent person to deal with."

"We had problems with a previous drain layer who had incorrectly connected the water flow from our roof, resulting in flooding into our garage. We got onto Derrick via this site (we were impressed by the positive feedback posted). Derrick responded immediately, and came up with a temporary solution until a permanent one could be put in place. We found him to be very honest, innovative in his thinking, reasonable in pricing, and extremely helpful in rectifying a previously poorly completed… job."

"Needing a backyard bog turned into something rather less of a slush, we called for the experts. Much appreciated not just the work done, the price and being kept in the loop but also the advice on how to camouflage what in fact was not too obvious an excavation. And, given the continuing wet spring, it does appear that the bog is receding. "

"Derrick was recommended by a neighbour, who had used him in the past and was very happy with the quality of his work. We had a major problem with sewage pipes in the garden caused by tree roots. This was not the first time this had happened and the previous work had cost an arm and a leg!
We had three quotes for the present job. The first one we got was from a larger company and, in my opinion, was extortionate. However, Derrek, not only gave a more reasonable quote, but came in a few days… later and fixed everything before I got home from work. We are very happy with the work done and would not hesitate to call him again if we had similar work to be done."

"I first met derrick aout twelve years ago when i teamed up with a fellow builder who was an old friend of his and had been using his sevices for some time. He and his team were very much the professional outfit and great personalities to boot.
In the following projects simon and i were involved with (new builds, renovations, alterations etc ) derrick was bought onboard to take care of all the drainage. Always with the consistant standards, everything was… completed without any problems leaving everybody concerned happy. We had a major project at my own property recently where we had a large inground pool and adjourning pool house/ cabana with sink, toilet etc, with obvious major drain works completed again without a hitch. He also came back and replaced a section of existing drains at the front of the house that were always troubled by tree roots, with new pipes- no more problems. My neighbour asked me about the same problem in his place with large trees, so after passing on derricks phone number he too has no more trouble with his drains. I recomend Derricks services without hesitation"

"We had an overflowing drain that needed immediate attention. Derrick was there straight away, cleaned up the mess and made safe for repair. He did the repair the next day, kept us informed the whole way and talked us through what needed to be done. Derrick was great to work with and we would use him anytime and highly reccomend him to other."
