  CASH COWBOY-needed a new transmission for my car that was to be handed down to my teenage daughter Got a quote from a transmission expert for $2500 While having my car serviced by Geoff Parkin I was offered a high quality/ low kms transmission for CASH Offer $1600 turned out to be too good to be true with car sounding like a truck and \"clunking\" like a bus after a couple of months Returned to Parkin said \"cable loose\" fiddled and sent me on my way In the interim… I acquired a new mechanic who offers quality workmanship is efficient and has COMPETITIVE labour rates More importantly he stands by his work! Less than 15,000kms have been travelled with my QUALITY transmission and the clunking has returned with a transmission oil leak Contacted Parkin today who ignored me when I bought my vehicle in for inspection He sent me out for a test drive with a mechanic who clearly had no idea what he was talking about He suggested I might like to purchase some new engine mounts! LOL AND, as all of a year had passed since my quality new transmission had been installed that there was nothing that could be done Pretty poor service all round Guess that\'s why his yard was empty this morning!

  "For the last 8 years Geoff and the team have serviced our cars. Over that time they have looked after 5 old BMWs we have owned. At all times they have provided excellent service and standard of workmanship. Communication has been excellent, estimates have be fair and they are a friendly bunch of buggers. Des the warrantologist gives goood warrants. But only if your car is good.
  At least half a dozen people at the office here also use Geoff Parkin motors and all will continue to use them.
  And… to the person that reckons they changed your radio stations... they disconnected your battery to work on your car, you noob."

  "Under quote then over price, no communication and then would not release vehicle until paid on the spot despite using them for several years. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
  We requested 2 quotes depending on the level of work required and asked them to call us if the higher amount of worked was required before commencing the work. As we were not contacted all day we called them to be advised that they had done the majority of the work for the higher quote and the actual cost was greater than the original… quote. We then pointed out that they had noted in their book that they would contact us before commencing work which they ackowledged. When I then rang them to understand the extra costs Geoff would not let me call back after a urgent work meeting and insisted that my wife pay on the spot before they would hand over the car to my wife and kids. This bahaviour despite us having used them for both of our vehicles over a number of years."

  "We had a similar problem to other person... they were late in returning vehicle, over-charged us even after quoting the price to be at least $100 less. Full of excuses, even changed my radio stations which wasn't necessary.
  I would not recommend them, they might be fine for a warrent, but any large fix-up job should go somewhere else, to a more trustworthy mechanic. I have several friends at my tennis club who have had bad dealings here so we will not return and i hope this helps people to not… make the same mistake"

  "We get our two vehicles serviced through Anzac Automotive (nextdoor) and our WOF through Geoff Parkin Motors. We deal with Des and find him professional and honest. If ever there's an issue to be addressed, he talks through and shows us what and where something needs to be replaced ... we wouldn't go anywhere else. They're a great team and their workshop's immaculate - which says a lot too about how a business is run."

  "Fixing cars is not an exact science and there can be much more wrong with the car than on preliminary inspection. I am fairly competent with cars and I have used them numerous times for various cars. The few minor problems that I have had have been explained and dealt with properly and when I have put price limits on repairs they have contacted me with the options.

  Overall I have found them to be reliable, upfront and knowledgeable. I suspect that different customers have different… understandings and expectations but I think GPM have the right level of service for what I am after."
