"Surprise and delight. Rob and team did several body scans to identify the correct, age-weathered shade of metallic paint, and seamlessly matched a previously painted door with the rest of the car. Trim pieces were carefully removed prior to painting, instead of merely masking over them. The finish was superb, flawless. That was the delight. The surprise? It was done at 1/3 the price of earlier quotes from two other reputable panel shops, who both wanted to paint the entire side of the car, something I felt wasn't necessary. Rob proved me right. In dealing with Glenfield Panelbeaters & Painters, I felt honesty from the onset - specifying exactly what work was needed, the quality of the job, and the cost. "Many years ago, before no cowboys, my son and I have always taken our cars to Rob as he's a true professional in all ways. Recently, my car had an encounter with an evil bollard - ouchie.... I took it to Rob and he worked his magic as usual. It now has a tidy rear end & looks sparkling new. Rob is always easy to deal with he's got great communication & explains what's to be done and handles all the insurance paper work . He has always supplied us with a loan car to keep us on the road. There was no drama and its a 100% perfect job as usual with a beautiful finish. I separately went back to Rob to repaint the front half of my car which had gone a creamie white colour since I purchased it, whereas the car is supposed to be al white. he explained it had been impacted and poorly painted prior to my purchase. My case was not an easy one and Rob went above and beyond my expectations with the repair, including discussing possible options, helping me source brand new genuine parts from Japan and keeping both my insurance company and I in the loop, while I was overseas too! "Wow, is what I can say. AMI insurance recommended Bush Road Panel Beaters, but I could not find anything good said about them. So I found Glenfield Panelbeaters and Painters. They were friendly, and up front. My wife loves how friendly the team was. They let us keep our car while the parts were shipped in. Then it was only 3 days in the workshop. The job was perfect. The only thing I cant comment on was the cost because it was an insurance job.

"Rob was nice guy to deal with, he did a good enough job but he did not do all the job properly.
First he switched the back number plates to the front to hide the fact the damaged plates was not changed at all. Now the damaged/****ty plates is in the back of my car. Second he mentioned in the insurance quote that the boot is not locking properly but he did not fix it. I talk to him about it when I picked up the car and his response "Just slam it hard to lock".

Also the courtesy are all ****ty - I don't think it's courteous to call it courtesy car. I stinks like hell and needs disinfecting. Not sure how the vehicle got warranted, I can point out at least 3 major things for it to fail the warrant of fitness. I have more concerns with the quality of his work, all I can say is I will not come back to him nor recommend him to anyone I know.

Another thing, I told him that you must have lots of friends who put the 100% on your reviews coz surely it's practically impossible to please all your customers and he laughed.

To be fair Rob is a nice guy - I told him my concerns above, hopefully he'll take it on board."

"Ferdinand. I was disappointed to see the scathing review that you have given our company. I would like to point out that the repairs were completed on your vehicle last September to our usual high standard and at no point since you collected your vehicle did you raise any concerns about the quality of the repair work? We also put your car through for a WOF on completion of the work free of charge and the structural repairs were overseen by an engineer for your peace of mind. The only issues you have mentioned in your review are damaged number plates, tailgate opening and shutting/locking and our courtesy cars. I explained to you when you collected your car that the number plates can be replaced and that the insurance company will reimburse you for this, but it must be done by the registered owner at any VTNZ or Post Shop. It costs only 18 dollars to have your same plates reproduced. In regards to the locking mechanism of the tailgate, this was perfectly functional and at no point did I suggest to just “slam it hard to lock”?? If there is a problem I would be happy to rectify the issue. On the subject of courtesy vehicles, you need to appreciate that we provide these as a free service. A good majority of repairers charge a daily fee for loan vehicles nowadays. We have since refurbished and repainted the loan car you speak ill of. I can appreciate that this website is highly subjective to individual opinions, but I feel that you have judged us rather harsly . As a small business, good customer feedback is crucial. "This was an insurance claim:- I went first to see Robert prior to contacting the insurers. He took all details of the damage ready for the insurance assessors to contact him, avoiding a further visit at that stage. Once the claim was approved, it was easy to arrange a suitable appointment time, and estimated completion date. We were provided with a car, (only cost was the petrol used) to use while ours was being repaired. The repair was actually completed a day before the estimate. The car literally looks as good as new, including a few extra scratches attended to un-asked!

At all times, Robert was approachable and friendly, indeed going the extra mile to give outstanding
customer service. His communication with us was excellent, also his other staff we met seemed just
as approachable and friendly. (Not always the case with every panel-beater!!) His business is in
a good position for access, relatively near the Motorway and Glenfield business centre.

It would take a highly trained eye to detect the repair (if anything, it looks better than the rest of the car). The price was very competitive, and there was no charge for the courtesy car. Early on, Rob asked for an extra day to ensure he could finish the job properly, and had the car ready early on the agreed day.
