    "I used Harvey Furnishings for custom made faux-wood blinds and custom curtains and I am thrilled with the result. Fong is an absolute professional. For the curtains, I went in with something very specific and slightly unconventional in mind, and Fong not only helped me pick the fabric, but also gave me the confidence that I was making the right decision. I wanted curtains that felt "me" and Fong gave me the encouragement I needed to follow my vision, rather than settle for a safe choice. I would've liked to have used their consultants, but this was right before Christmas and I didn't want to wait, so once again Fong to the rescue! She gave me advice on how/where to position the rail and how to measure the length for the curtains (and blinds), and I was able to do it myself. The curtains and blinds were delivered much faster than I had expected - they under-promised and over-delivered. I'm absolutely stoked!"

    "Very disappointed, staff helpful , but manager very unpleasant . They weren't stocked up on basic curtains that they were displaying , and didn't have 3 way linnings to match . Wish I had never gone to this store. Have since used Harvey's on the Northshore in stead ,even though it was inconvenient, as didn't want to deal with this manager again ."

    "Very disappointed in the overall service experience received. The person that did the initial measure and quote was good. I was advised that 50% of the curtain track quote had to be paid on quote acceptance - fair enough. Delivery was to be 4-6 wks and it arrived at wk 5. I was advised at the initial measure up that given I have a disability the installer would hang the curtains; this was confirmed with the shop when arranging an installation date. To confirm the installation I had to pay the balance of the quote; REALLY?! The installer arrived 40 mins late; no apology; no introduction of himself; flatly refused to hang the curtains ("there is nothing written in the installation instruction"). So I had to suck it up as I had paid the full price. now I have a mound of curtains that I am unable to hang. Feeling mislead and ripped off!"

    "So disappointed. Measurements wrong so curtains don;t touch the floor, took longer than promised, felt Amanda was just after the commission or bonus. The curtains aren't what we expected and already have black mould on the "mould resistant" lining; we have double glazing so our windows are dry. An all around let-down."

    "No care, no ownership ,no responsibility.. I purchased an item from them via the website. After 7 days of no contact from them, i call to see where it is at. I was told the lady that deals with the internet orders was off sick and my experience has been that nothing gets done if she is sick or away. I am promised that the item will be dispatched that day and I would receive it the following. Guess what - i get an email (no phone call) the following day to say it wasn't collected by the courier and it was being sent today. Apparently this was the couriers fault and not Harveys. Just like the processing of the order was not their fault because of illness. Total fail in systems, processes, service and ownership."

    "Zero customer service. I will never use this business again. Amanda (rep) delivered very poor service and was unfriendly and quite rude, made inaccurate measurements, was misleading with information, no attention to detail, no basic interior decoration advisory skills, limited patience with a defensive attitude. My letter of complaint to the management was sent 1 month ago and I have yet to receive a respons which leads me to the conclusion that they condone this behavior.

    - Inaccurate measurements: the curtains were made too wide and therefore would not stack properly on each side of the window frame when open. They were also too long. The installer tried to correct the measurement mistakes by moving up the hooks on the fix-pleat, however it did not look good. The curtains were sent for alteration several times over the course of a couple of months before a satisfactory outcome was achieved. My deadline was not met which was very inconvenient as I was having open homes.

    - Misleading information: on my second job, after my order was finalized and ready to go, Amanda came up with this statement: "Our terms have changed in the last 6 months and we now require payment in full before installation or collection of goods". However, referring to the Consumer Terms & Conditions on their website, I read "Our company policy on custom made jobs is 50% of agreed job total paid to the Representative on acceptance and the balance paid on collection�. I have always paid my invoices for satisfactory work completed and this �change� in policy is not in keeping with good business practice and rather insulting.

    - Unfriendly, impatient and rude manners: I asked for 5 quotes with different fabrics to help me decide. The rest of the components were identical as well as the measurements. Amanda was quite difficult about having to prepare these quotes, made faces and became quite rude. She commented that I was a difficult client, however past experience had taught me that you need to be specific and check to make sure you get what you want. She commented that I was �so specific� and �so demanding� but why shouldn�t I be? Is this something to say to a customer anyway?

    Shannon responded:
    "We are saddened that this customer has felt this review appropriate after the exceptional efforts of our team to assist her. The curtain making issues the customer refers to relate to a job that was completed over a year ago. There were no measuring inaccuracies or making errors but we altered and reinstalled the drapes multiple times at our cost to meet the customer's expectations. We also refunded the express making fee. The other issues raised relate to a more recent quotation for one pair of curtains. Our consultant has visited the customer's home multiple times and sent clear, precise, timely and polite email communications. We have not yet received any letter of complaint but our general manager was made aware of the customer's dissatisfaction when she made demands well outside our usual terms of service as a condition of acceptance of the quote. We did not agree to meet those terms and offered to provide her with the measurements we had taken so that she may pass them on to an alternative curtain company. The payment terms communicated to the customer are in line with those on our website and were outlined in several emails, including the first quotation email."

    "We were working on getting some curtains for our house and we headed straight to Harvey Furnishings, we've got a great track record with their stores and chose them to make us some curtains. Staff were very helpful and patient with us humming and haaing about various shades for curtains.

    Courteous, knowledgeable and kind staff make for a great experience"

    "I have found the staff at the Botany branch very helpful. At this stage we have only been in there for cushions and throw rugs, but are about to embark on drapes and sunblock roller blinds, and I won't hesitate to go back to them."

    "I bought a house lot of custom made curtains and tracks from the Mt Eden store. I hadn\'t realised how involved buying curtains was. There are a lot of decisions to make so it took longer to place the order than I had anticipated. They were very helpful though and I needed the curtains urgently so they fast-tracked my order. The quality was very impressive. I\'ll definitely use them again."

    "Amanda (salesperson) was very pleasant and the deal was OK. Delays started right away with fabric we were told was on hold for us actually taking 10 weeks to arrive. When the installer arrived to fit the curtains we found the ones for the master bedroom were actually in 1 piece instead of the 2 they were supposed to be, so they had to go back. As a result of this mistake the stays were installed on the incorrect window frames. When they finally finished the installation the error of the stays positioning was discovered. When we called about this (and the fact the curtains were hanging too high) we were ignored. I left over 10 messages for Amanda and Mavis, her manager. I finally got hold of Amanda and she told us the stays would have to be moved. This would leave holes of course, so we insisted they provide another set. We had to pay for these even though they erred. I am still waiting for Mavis to return my call but I hold lettle hope she will."
