    "BEWARE of this company. Perhaps they have sold or changed out people from last reviews? I met Dave Cox CEO only ONE time face to face!! here on my property in February 2015 to sell me a set of Heritage Gates.. I had another company who gave me a better quote, but couldn't start till the end of April and due to my husband of 43 yrs suddenly dying, I was frightened and needed some sense of security! I went with Cox because HE SAID he would have the gates finished within 25 to 30 DAYS!!! I gave him almost $7,000.00 deposit and never heard a thing for OVER a month. He ignored my emails finally emailed saying it would "be the end of April, they were 'busy". After over 40 emails, a lot of stress, fear, health issues due to him, and heart ache, he finished my gates on JUNE 27TH after I threatened to take legal action! I have never seen him face to face since the original Feb. meet, even though he came to the property personally and put the gates in!!! He had three sets of FAULTY equipment that had to be replaced. He lied to me on three different occasions on the phone. He put the gates too close together and the Key pad too far out into the driveway, which had to be removed as it was a hazard. He sent me an email and told me "I could hire to have it done!" I have over 40 emails to support all of my allegations! He manifested at least 5 Consumer Affairs violations for this job. I have never been treated like this in my entire life & I am 71 years old!"
    DAve Cox responded:
    "On behalf of Heritage Gates & Fences I personally engaged with Mrs Braman at a site consultation 29th February 2015 on which we provided proposals and concept drawings to Mrs Braman on the 3rd March 2015. We indicated that lead times would be around 25-30 working days. One of these proposals were then accepted on the 5th March 2015 of which we received a 50% deposit as per our normal trading terms that Mrs Braman was happy to accept. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances (as you get within any business) we over ran our estimated 25-30 working days lead time and to sort this I personally took the time out of my busy schedule to set this right and completed the installation over a weekend including Anzac day (33 working days from receipt of deposit) in all weather conditions to try and get the job completed. By the end of this weekend the job was completed excluding the connection of the electrical equipment as the weather was too torrential to undertake this and there was no mains power provided to the gate by the customer. At this point due to the location of the job (minimum of 2 hours travel each way for any of our technicians) and upcoming weather conditions we approached SmartElectrix (Mrs Bramans own electrician who was also working on the site and a certified electrician) to undertake this on our behalf. From this point some issues started to arise where simple wiring and programming instructions were not followed or adhered to. I personally then returned to site on the 15th May 2015 to assist with remedying these errors in conjunction with SmartElectrix and worked through the issues and at this point SmartElectrix insisted on still completing the remainder of the job. On the 15th June 2015 Heritage Gates received a letter and account for the work undertaken to date from SmartElectrix and stating that he was now too busy with other work to complete the job. We were in the process of working out what had been completed and what had to be completed and were getting a plan into place when on the 19th June 2015 Heritage Gates received a Legal Notice from Mrs Braman of which Heritage Gates responded to and rectified all the outstanding issues before the time frame that Mrs Braman gave. We do apologise to Mrs Braman for all the stress caused and for not having spoken to her face to face. I had wished to do so on many occasions but was only able to talk with her son Kenny who answered the door when I knocked and come out to see how work was progressing. When I left her property on completion at 11am I expressed to Kenny that I would like to apologise to her personally for the delays but he responded “I’m sorry she is still in bed sleeping”. We are very sorry for the way things have panned out but we have made all efforts possible to make things right with Mrs Braman. - Dave Cox (Manager, Heritage Gates) "

    "We have recently purchased the Chalet Pedestrian Gate for our Daughter in Northcote Point, which replaced an old solid wooden gate which hid the path to the front door. What a transformation this gate has made. My husband installed it last weekend and there have been so many comments. I would thoroughly recommend Heritage Gates.     "I used Heritage for some front gates at our home. Service, attitude, quality and back up was brilliant, true quality service from a great family owned business.

    Even a few weeks after install they followed me up to ensure I was 200% happy and if there was any more they could do to help.
