"We had an urgent and extensive renovation job for a rental unit that had a tenant moving in in 4 weeks after our regular builders backed out due to the time pressure. We found Jim and after contacting him he agreed to take a look at the job the very next day. He was very professional in his interpersonal manner and communications and provided excellent design advice (we were re-configuring an existing 2 bedroom unit and converting to a 3 bedroom). His quote was detailed and accurate and very… cost effective. Once we accepted the quote and settled on a start date Jim and his team were there as agreed. Work was done to a high standard and to the schedule, including working long hours to get jobs done as needed to meet the needs of other trades on the site. Jim was very proactive with communicating with us with any questions about the work and with suggestions, with the result that we had no delays during our 3 week project and we were able to implement several very clever improvements to our original design. Additional work was communicated to us for our approval and the rates were in line with the original quote, so we had no surprises at the end. We were very happy with the work that Jim and his team did for our rental unit and we will not hesitate to use him again and to recommend him to others. In fact, we've asked him to quote on a major upgrade to our home now."

"When three local builders failed to get back to us after viewing the job we went online and found No Cowboys and JFC Construction. Jim looked at the job that day and said \'yes we can\' and started a work just few days later. Despite being an awkward job in many respects Jim was prepared to quote and stick to it.
Jim and Andrew were a delight to have working on our house and the job was all finished to a high standard on the appointed day. On time, on budget and with no dramas.
Now all we… hope is that Jim doesn\'t retire any time soon so he can build our next house!"

We were very particular about what we wanted and how we wanted it to look and Jim and Andrew took the time to understand exactly what our requirements were. "\"One of the few \"old school\" builders left who takes a great pride in their work. They rennovated 3 bathrooms in our house, reconstructed the laundry area, put in brand new front entrance and replaced our verandah sliders with the latest bifold doors. Highly recommended.\"

"If you are looking for someone who really listens to what you want and who then offers practical ideas that are in tune with that brief, that\'s Jim Findlay. He has a great visual sense.
The work was done in the time frame Jim gave us, and we were delighted that he was able to re-use some materials from a part of the building that was being demolished in order to create the finished look.
It\'s gold to find a craftsman who communicates well and who cares about what he does."

"We hired Jim based on the recommendation of another tradesperson and Jim exceeded expectations. We needed some remedial work done on a recently-built house, as well as an extension to our deck. Jim was very honest, good value for money, demonstrated excellent workmanship and with a great sense of humour - he was a pleasure to have in the house. "Jim and his crew have very high standards and are to be relied upon 110% for their work standards and vast experience. They get it done right, on time, on budget.
This is the second major project they have done for me, and both have been fantastic.
In particular their finishing is excellent... framing etc is important too, but getting paint ready finishes without relying on no more gaps fillers etc is a dying art! The walls were perfectly straight and doors hung properly!!!
We had a lot of… varnish finish wood and because the house was buiit in the 30\'s we needed to make sure all woods matched incl flooring, and the architraves and scotias were perfect - mostly made on site. Jim\'s attention and commitment to this project was faultless - of course there were the normal and acceptable overages which are the norm for older home major renovations, everything else was bang on budget

Any user will not be disappointed..."

He always returns phonecalls, turns up on time to start, keeps you informed of any issues or updates on job progress and on top of that does a really thorough and professional job. "Jim did a major addition to our home in Torbay in 2003 as well as overseeing its reroofing last October while we were overseas. He has also done a total refurbishment of our beach house as well as a number of smaller jobs for us over a number of years.
He is an excellent builder and is always willing to go the extra mile. As well as being quick to identify problems and provide practical solutions, Jim and his small team are very good at meeting deadlines.
He has a good relationship with… his subcontractors who turn up on time and are efficient .

I would have no hesitation in recommending him for any building construction work."
