98%"Kay provided a landscaping plan, as requested and as per the brief. This involved removing plants from existing garden beds and replanting them, along with new plants, which she sourced for us. We were able to repurpose most of our existing subtropical plants as per Kays' plan, saving us on costs, and producing a great new back garden. We got Kay back to help with placement and planting of the plants at the end. We are really pleased with our garden, and get comments from visitors… regularly.
Kay was easy to deal with, communication was great and she has great ideas and vision.

100%"Kay was so patient with us we engaged her a year ago and helped us choose plants, shrubs and trees for our garden area. She sent us photos so we would know what they looked like. Kay delivered our plants etc, and mulch and loaned us some tarps.
She worked the the plan the greg gave her so we would know the measurements etc of each shrub that would be planted. Kaye also provided colour pictures of the plants and trees. Needless to say the land owner signed off the design without hesitation. 98%"We met Kay at the North Shore Home show and then contacted her to do a landscape design for a full makeover of the courtyard area at our new home in Milford and also to recommend new plants for the garden in front of the house and down one side.
We were very impressed with the designs as submitted and after minor alterations gave her the go ahead to proceed. She referred us to her associate Mark Atkinson at Enhance Landscapes who quoted and did all the work like building new fences and… planter boxes, removing all the old foliage, organising the laying of new pavers and lawn.

Kay was very good to work with, she listened to what we wanted and then came up with a design that matched our requirements. All her pricing was excellent and where items were not used she adjusted her charge accordingly. All the plants she sourced and planted were of the highest quality. Recently she called in to see how things were going and gave us some clues on things to do re pruning and watering to ensure the gardens look there best.

73%"Friendly emails but unfortunately couldn't go ahead with the planting process as the whole sketch took approx 2 months and then Kay told me that the work couldn't be started for another 2-3 months. If only it was clear at the beginning I would have decided to work with another company as this was an urgent project."Kay Millar responded:"Thanks for your feedback Shifali. Unfortunately, the design process began at a busy time, just having completed two Home Shows. There was no indication of when you wished the project to be completed and no budget to work to, this being a reason my quote to install was not accepted after hours of design work and preparation of the quote. The sketch plan was not charged for and a two-hour consultation at a 65% reduction with a plant list, allowed the design aspect to be completed. Unfortunately, it is not possible to book installation work in until a quote has been accepted, which it was not, and as my timetable is busy at present, felt it better to advise you I would not be able to install immediately, to allow the work to be undertaken by another landscape contractor so that your project could be completed sooner. We had spent about two years trying to work out how to best do this, calling on friends, family and anyone with an opinion to make suggestions.

It was a small job but Kay was more than happy to do as much or as little as I wanted. I have left the review for a while so the plants had time to start growing and the garden is now really starting to take shape. The plants were of a good quality and Kay always delivered on the timeframes she gave me.

93%"Our job was for Kay Millar - Landscape Design to design and create a low maintenance native ground cover garden on a very steep and awkward bush section in Titirangi. The work had to be carried out around a drawn out reconstruction job (6months) that was not envisaged at the time. Kay held plants for some months for us and fitted in the planting round the construction. Full Concept Plans and/or Planting Plans;
Plant sourcing and delivery;
Installation of small planting designs, or quotes from reputable contractors to install;
Maintenance of your designed garden.
Initial consultation $120 inc GST within the areas serviced above. Contact us for cost outside this area. Plant suggestions are given at this consultation and verbal design ideas. Charges for further design work can be given once the site has been seen and discussed. Whether its simply a sketch of ideas and some plant suggestions, provision of plants only, or a full landscape plan, there are many options to suit your budget.
