"Karl and his team removed our old garden and replaced it with a new driveway. The job was done to a very high standard, all debris removed and the place left tidy and washed down. "Karl and his team are fantastic providing great service at a very competitive price. Karl and his team carried out the earthworks for my house build on a steep wellington slope off a narrow road. It was a difficult project and yet Karl and team made it as smooth as possible - digging out and removing all earth to form a flat building platform and drilling and positioning piles for huge retaining walls to secure the site. Karl came highly recommended through a good friend who had recently built their own house and I would highly recommend the team to anyone seeking to do substantial or small project earthworks"

"Let me join the list of "100 per-centres" in praise of Karl and his team. Never having had an excavation done on my property, I was a little bit apprehensive. The minute Karl and his Mack truck and trailer with digger arrived on the dot of the appointed time, my worries began to subside. They expertly carved out, squared up, leveled out, removed posts, trucked away, replaced with base course, hosed away mud, tidied up, and all in record time and without fuss. Even the garage contractor praised the high standard of the site preparations. Now there's an accolade on its own. Well done K & D Contracting! Highly recommended, and at a pretty sharp price too. "Came straight away to look at the job........ being to concrete in bollards in a parking area. Karl kept me informed of progress and when the bollards would be available. The job was completed on time , the work was tidy and tradesman like and very reasonably priced.

"Karl Did 2 decks for us and also laid a large concrete area and created a raised lawn within Retaining walls. This turned a very wet section into a lovely usable outdoor area.
Karl saw the potential in the site much more clearly than we had.
Karl's workmanship was of a very high standard. The job was done within the agreed time and budget.
We were impressed with tidiness of the work site and obvious attention to safety. We were also very happy with the high standard of communication and simply with Karl's willingness to listen to our thoughts."

"1. Price: After two years of waiting I finally got a competitive price! Excellent price!
2. Professionalism: Very good communication and did what was agreed on time with courtesy and the experience of a true professional, which is refreshing to see!
3. Quality of Work: I have seen many similar jobs and none better so highly recommended!
4. Honesty and trustworthiness: For me if all else is there and this not I will not employ people, all was there and on this I guarantee you will not find anybody more honest and trustworthy. I accidently paid too much and this was returned immediately without chasing and with a genuine smile, when do you get that these days.

"We have had Karl preparing our site for a new home to be build, he has done a amazing job, even to the point that the contractors were very empressed with his workmanship. He had worked out the cut to detail and kept in contact with us on the work he was doing, and explaining why it was done this way, in regard to weather and water flow.
He has also prepared our driveway to the house which is of very high standard.

"As the Director of Metanoic I hired K&D Contracting for a build in Brooklyn on a 23 degree sloping site. The site was below a 2.5 meter council retaining wall, with the only access being had a long small pathway which was set down from the road. Karl was able to provide a digger that could both navigate down this pathway and manage the large earthworks that the site required. Karl and his team demonstrated adept skills as operators and were able to carefully work around the retaining wall to ensure its integrity.

The earthworks themselves were on one of the most difficult sites I have worked on in Wellington's hilly terrain. Karl and his team outdid themselves in thinking outside the square to combat each hurdle as it arrived. I was very impressed by their 'can-do' attitude and would definitely hire them again."

"Karl and his team are absolutely fantastic! I would highly recommend them to any other owners looking to build on a difficult site requiring significant earthworks. K&D Contracting were hired to cut and level a hilly Wellington site and dig over 60 piles up and down the hill. The site itself was hard to access and required some very careful thinking and planning. All of this Karl managed superbly, resulting in an incredibly successful finished product.

I was also delighted with Karl's client liaison and communication skills, he let me know exactly where the job was at every stage of the process. It is so important to have people that you can trust and who keep to their word, but are also genuinely good guys. Karl and his team were a true example of the best of all of these attributes."
