    "Do not trust these guys. They are the dodgiest people you can ever meet. Sold us 3 Chandeliers (2 small ones and one big one) and we paid upfront for the order. We picked up 2 small ones, but they kept ignoring our calls to pick up the big one. It's been more than a year, we are still trying to get our Chanderlier or money back"

Still trading under LEDRUS HOLDINGS LTD, work was undertaken at my house by an unregistered electrician (still an apprentice) who pled guilty to charges (also watch out for Just Been Wired Ltd which is a company that has advertised on Groupon and has now been removed from the Companies Office). On 18 October 2018, Daniel (Dhiraj) Gogna pled GUILTY to charges in relation to some work undertaken at another property and the case in relation to two further charges has been adjourned. If you are thinking of using these Cowboys, please give your money to a charity and get someone else to do the work, you will be better off in the long run. Do not give Daniel your credit card details as he will debit you even if you are disputing the invoice, because it was wrong."

    "A trial date has been set for 18th Oct for the case brought against Daniel Gogna (LED R US Manager/Owner) by the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

    "BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have had 7 months of protracted negotiations with LED R US to rectify an installation of faulty down lights which resulted in extensive damage to my home by the very inexperienced and exhausted LED showroom staff (electrician?) who install their lighting fixtures.

    LED R US refused to accept responsibility for the damage they caused to my home and downplayed why the lights didn't do what they were meant to. As a result I laid complaints with the Disputes Tribunal Court, the Electrical Workers Registration Board and the Operational Licensing Team/Consumer Protection and Standards, at the Ministry of Business Employment and Innovation.

    After several heated hearings at the Disputes Tribunal Court an expert independent Electrical Inspector undertook an assessment of LED R US installation work and reported the LED R US worker had not used the correct equipment to install the lights and did not undertake reasonable care during the installation.

    The Dispute Tribunal Court determined that LED R US was in breach of Section 28 of the Consumer Guarantees Act for not taking reasonable care and skill when installing the lights. LED R US was ordered to pay for extensive remedial work, the Electrical Inspectors fees, and ordered to refund in full for the faulty lights.

    The worst of all this was the actions and behaviors of the LED R US manager, Daniel Gogna. He was not inly rude and aggressive, but also very intimidating in person and over email. He made personal attacks verbally on both myself and my family. He constantly delayed and obstructed the court and inspector, and breached remedial deadlines set by the court.

    A search online will find there is other similar reports on how Mr Gogna treats his customers.

    "Buyer proceed with caution, check your Safety documentation!

    We purchased an Led feature light from this company to install into our new build. Our electrician
    requested us to provide an SDoc (Supplier Declaration of Conformity) with the goods to demonstrate it complied with NZ Safety regulations and had passed the required testing for a medium risk electrical product.

    LED R US could not supply the SDoc immediately on receipt of the goods but assured us they would email it through before the required date of install. This unfortunately didn't happen so we purchased a replacement light fitting from another retail lighting supplier (complete with SDoc at the time of purchase). Eventually we did receive an SDoc from LED R US of which the serial numbers did not match our product...

    Based on the situation explained we requested a full refund and initially denied, this was after being assured beforehand that a refund wouldn't be problem should the SDoc not make it to us in time for our electrician to install the light. I started doing some research into the documentation provided by LED R US and I have reason to believe that the SDoc and fixture are at best questionable! The form is incomplete in areas and the company listed on their documentation as the authorised testing organisation don't seem to have any affiliation with LED R US... Energy Safety are currently investigating our case further.

    My advise is that if you have purchased a product from their store or are about to, request and check your documentation very closely!! Most feature light products are medium risk and require Safety documentation to be provided to your electrician. It is doubtful that your insurance company would pay out should incorrect paper work or a faulty electrical fitting is installed into your home. Information is available on the Energy Safe website www.energysafety.govt.nz including a sample SDoc. Lodge any complaints also via this website online (they are very helpful).

    As far as a consumer, we have finally received a full refund. We were offered an in store credit or refund less a 30% restocking fee but eventually after lodging our case with the Disputes Tribunal LED R US have elected to come to the party and settle before it progressed to the tribunal. Again any consumer issues contact "Consumer Complaints", they have been most helpful also.

    I notice LED R US have very mixed reviews, some excellent and some absolutely abysmal with none in between. I suspect the difference is between the lucky people that have no after sales issues verses the ones that do... Do your research, there is some interesting stuff to be read online if you Google search Daniel Dhiraj Gogna's name... Draw your own conclusions but remember there are other retail lighting stores that have offered us hassle free trading!

    "Took my light in for a repair 7 weeks ago as has purchased from ledsrus 3 years earlier.
    Followed up after 3 weeks and they had the incorrect phone number to contact me and that was when they informed me that it was an issue with the transformer. They were ordering a new transformer and were waiting for the electrician to come in and fix it.
    2 weeks later I was driving by so dropped in to the store to get an update. Was informed that the electrician was still looking at it and it would be ready in a week but to give them two weeks to be on the safe side.

    Thursday last week, almost 2 weeks later, I once again call in to the store for an update. The electrician was there and they would call me that afternoon. No phone call that afternoon.

    I followed up with a phone call yesterday (Monday - 7 weeks after first dropping the light off) to hear that they still haven't got the right transformer, so I have now given up and gone in and collected my (not working) light.

    The light may be broken and unable to be repaired (have gone and bought a transformer from another supplier/competitor and will have a qualified electrician fit that and see if it works or not) so the main issue I have had with ledsrus is the lack of communication and the fact that I have had to do all of the chasing.

    Informed them in store that if I had to buy a new light it certainly will not be from them.

    "To be honest , when I initially went to their store I was totally impressed with the fittings and the knowledge the staff had at the new Kent terrace store , but after reading some negative reviews I was a bit concerned and raised the issues with the owner daniel himself , he was thorough and explained how some exsistind staff and some competitors were trying to tarnish their image , he also admitted that some customers were not happy and he tried his best to serve them and make them happy but he and his team could not .

    Taking the risk we decided to go ahead and got our rental property changed to led lighting with them , a lot of extensive labor was done and provided by their electrician Maddison , who was polite , efficient and reliable .

    The lights installed by Ledrus really did make a lot of difference to the look and feel of the house hence the tenants were extremely happy . Overall I can say that our gamble paid off and we are more than happy with our decision of going with led r us .

    All I can say is if you can trust them and give the a chance , you won't be dissapointed . Thank you fir a super duper job

    "I purchased a lamp from this store. A year later, the lamp stopped working for no obvious reason. I attempted to get the store to fix the lamp or refund me. It took six months of unanswered phone calls, fruitless visits to the store, and finally, an application to the Disputes Tribunal for the store to eventually refund me. Enough said."

    "Had a good experience with ledrus. None of the issues others mentioned. Got the whole house redone with LED downlights. Very competitively priced. Got electrical compliance certificate at end of job. As someone else mentioned - favors very bright lights with dimmers to compensate. But at end of day up to customer. Job took a lot longer than expected , which can happen with anyone as you never know until remove old fittings . But came to a fair agreement over extra charge."

    "I was looking forward to getting my whole house rewired with LED lights and Daniel showed up very efficiently to review and give me a quote. We were asked for a deposit straight away and because of the timing we paid only for the lights we wanted installed which was just as well. Then when installation was to begin the electrician did not show up and we called again and I had to take extra time off work - he arrived in the afternoon instead of morning and installed 10 lights in existing holes. He was pleasant enough but told us he did not like working mornings and started in the afternoon. He took until 8.00 pm that night to finish installing them as they were the wrong lights and he had to go to get the right ones. I was annoyed as I had to delay my dinner until he left. One of the lights then cracked and I phoned to get it replaced. It took a weeks to get it done, the only reason for it to be replaced was because I called the electrician instead of the shop. I got no response from the shop and would appear Daniel the owner had "disappeared" overseas. The electrician was reasonably apologetic and also supplied me another light to make up for the inconvenience. That was fine but the light popped in a month or two so just as well we didn't pay for it. What was really bad about this company was the insistence of payment once we had decided to get the quote and lights fitted. I received an email to pay two or three times very week when I placed the order and it took months to install from the date we wanted them to be done. The lights were not fitted when I received phone calls to pay. They were pretty bad almost to the harassment level. I was reasonably satisfied that the lights were fitted but one of the other covers of the lights cracked after a few months. I couldn't be bothered to ring to replace as it would take more months and unreliable timings to get this done. I would never go back to get them to replace all the other lights, they are unreliable and looking back on it, they were expensive. However when I told them that I would only pay when they were installed they told me they were a retail shop and there is no credit even when they sent me all this information about interest free terms. Not a very customer friendly shop only interested in your money not customer satisfaction."

    I strongly recommend NOT to shop from led r us

    I would never use this business again. company is very poorly organised. Electrician did not came the day of installation. no one from ledrus notified us. after calling them back- staff member told that the electrician will call us to rearrange the installation. again no one called.

    I end up cancelling my order. customer service is horrible. now ledrus (wellington) is holding up my deposit.

    these people are not trust worthy. BEWARE before making any purchases from this company.

    "I would never use this business again. We bought some lights for our kitchen and one of them kept failing.They replaced the transformer twice but on each occasion it took nearly two months to get the light back!!
    When the light failed for the third time I asked for a replacement and that is when we really got the run around.Phone calls were never returned, and on one occasion I was asked if I had already called earlier in the day from a different phone number!! The excuses were endless and even a visit to the store gave no results. I tried to contact the manager but was always told he was not in but would ring me either later that day or the next. I have never yet spoken to him!! Emails written to the parent company in Australia were also ignored, why have an email service if no one is going to respond??

    I finally insisted on a full refund and even that took almost three weeks before we were refunded.

    "This lot are dodgy as. Had some LED down-lights installed last year. Got told my electrical safety certificate would arrive in the post. Never came. Got suspicious. Turned out their electrician was unlicensed. Had to have all their work re certified by another electrician. Constantly got the run around, excuses and poor service from these guys in general.

    I echo the general sentiment of comments on here - be very careful before getting involved."

    "Went into wellington led r us shop, dealt with Maya .
    Maya was amazing her knowledge was great she helped me . I asked her about led outdoor light and she showed me a range that i have never seen before. led r us wellington had so many different types of lights. led r us wellington also helped me arrange a home consultation so they could tell me how many lights i needed, they booked in the electrician and my led lights where all put up.
    loved the service at led r us they made me feel welcome and helped me in every way. good job and good service , will highly recommend

    "We didn't have a good experience when buying thre lights for our kitchen, found one was scratched plus the wrong type of bulb was fitted w hen the packing slip was supplied stating the type of bulb fitted.
    That's when the level of service received went downhill. The dramas to get a replacement light with a correct bulb fitted took ages plus because of the kitchen layout, trying to get a credit for one of the lamps as their recommendation of the amount of lighting required was incorrect so we wanted to return one ( still in its packaging). It took approx 4 weeks to replace the scratched lamp with a new bulb and give us the money for the third lamp. This was after three actual visits to the store and getting fobbed of with excuses.

    As the lights were on warranty, , after approx 10 months , the LED bulb stopped going. Contacted the store, please bring it in, we will check it and get it repaired. No contact after two weeks, after two phone calls with excuses of will be ready soon, visited the store, they had lost it and couldn't find the light. There solution,will supply us a new one from their storage warehouse and come back at 2pm. Arrive there, some excuse about the key for the warehouse was unavailable but good news, found the light so we will repair it. After more phone calls and three more visits, we finally got a repaired light back. No charge as it was on warranty - just as well but the continual lack of service and responsibility shown by the staff offering lame excuses was frankly quite abysmal. I cannot recommend this company at all.

    "Fantastic service and products . Got my ic rated diwnlights with 5 years warranty and got them
    Installed by the Led r us . Hassle free and so professionally done . We have been thinking about getting led down lights and we looked around with other stores but at last we decided to go through with maya as she was well informed about the products , the installation process and the in house electrician was efficient and got the job done quickly , efficiently and with in 48 hours of us buying the product .

    Thank you maya and Matt for the fantastic product and service . Would recommend you to all my friends and family .

    About time you get this level of service from an electrical company. 100% product knowledge, punctual, great work ethics and the best part good priced.

    they installed my oven, repaired the plug points and also repaired the lights which were faulty and i was advised by other electricians that they could not be fixed.

    on the other hand , they upgraded my existing lights to led, which not only are saving me money but they look awesome...
