    "Initially I was very happy with the results of our newly painted roof in 2007 but was not aware a faulty product was used. We only found out about the issue 5.5 years later when we needed a quote for roof repairs after the earthquakes. Mainland Roof Coatings was invited to give a quote and during their visit a comment was made about the poor paint job. He was informed on the spot they painted it. He said he would look into it but we never heard back. It took many calls and follow ups to get… someone out. After our roof was inspected we were told that they had used a faulty product and that because it is a pro-rated warranty we would need to pay a certain amount to have it repainted. We were supposed to hear back from them in regards to doing a deal but never heard from them. I really feel ripped off. Why were the customers who received the faulty product not notified. Or at the very least when we were getting our roof moss sprayed each year by them, why did they not tell us there was a problem when you could visually see it."

    "The case is in front of the Disputes Tribunal at the moment and I need to be careful of what I am saying, but be prepared that your roof will leak just as badly after "Kowhai Mainland Roof Coatings Ltd, Rangiora (or "Mainland Roof Coatings" as Mr Benny y advertises under), has applied their Defendercote 3 coat roof resurfacing system to restore your roof and give it a "new lease of life", as it did before. It only LOOKS nicer.

    Please do not confuse "Kowhai… Mainland Roof Coatings Ltd", from Rangiora with a company called "Kowhai Quality Coatings".

    We have only received good service and a helpful attitude from the later one.    "

    "Paid approx $12000.00 for 2 days work. They said they would do 3 coats on roof, they done the roof in 5 hours on a cold cloudy day.
    Used 1 and abit buckets of paint on walls(2 story house) and took 3 full ones away. Didn't do eaves, facia's, foundations etc.
    They have been back 4 times to do patch up jobs. Owner finally came 10 months later and was very rude and didn't even get on roof and just wasn't interested. As he was leaving he told me I was ****ing mental.
    Don't use these guys.    "
