100%"I came home at 4.30 pm last week to find our hot water cylinder had failed and leaked water everywhere. I rang several plumbers who unfortunately couldn't help, but one of them suggested I call Chris at Matthews Plumbing. I did and he was awesome. He arranged for one of his team (Connor) to stop round that same evening on his way home to assess the job and ensure all the valves etc were shut off and no more water would leak out. Connor arrived a short time later and was great. We worked… through what needed to be done (a new cylinder and valves) and he and Chris arranged it with their suppliers that evening. Connor removed the old cylinder that evening before leaving and turned up bright and early the next morning to complete the work. I also asked him to replace my kitchen tap as it was leaking. I went on line and chose one from their suppliers website and they had that delivered in the morning along with the cylinder. Both jobs were completed by 2.00 pm that afternoon. Connor was incredibly polite and personable throughout the entire job and completed it in a very professional manner. I had to leave him alone in the home and had complete trust in doing so. Chris (the owner) communicated with me several times by text or phone call to make sure everything was going to plan. What I also really liked was that I knew the cost up front before the work was commenced and at the end there was no hidden charges added in. These guys were amazing and I can't compliment them enough. 100%"Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Chris went out of his way to find a septic tank expert when it became clear the initial job, due the the system installed, was rather specialised. He contacted the company and then came out twice to meet them and explain the requirements to them. They, however were a no show on both occassions. 100%"When the last thing you want is your hot water cylinder to die straight after New Year's, Chris came immediately to look at the problem on a very stormy, wet day even though he was on stat holidays. He explained what the issue was and immediately replaced the full gas fired cylinder the day the merchants re-opened. He supplied quote and confirmed that he is registered plumber and authorized to sign permits.Job took 2-3 times longer than initially promised. I receive lots of excuses but wasted few weeks.
When job was completed Chris asked for much more money when we agreed and blackmailed me that he will not give me his signature when I refused to pay. Quote was exceeded more than 30%

25%"I am not at all happy with the job Chris did for me. I called him out to look at a pipe under my bath which was blocking up. Once he\'d completed the job, I had to call him back to move the pipe back into its original position as he left it sticking out around foot from the basement wall. When he pulled out the old pipe he broke the concrete surrounding the grid it was attached to on the other side of the wall. The grid has since blocked up and for the first time in the sixteen I have been… living in this house, the water flowed back into the basement instead of out into the garden as it was designed to do because of the breaks in the concrete he created.
He also fitted the new pipe so that it is hanging so far down into the grid that it\'s almost impossible to get an implement down into it to clear it.
I\'m very unhappy with his workmanship and won\'t have him back to repair the new plumbing faults he\'s created.
I chose him off the internet because he belonged to No Cowboys and had good ratings. 100%"I needed urgent work done on our shower & toilet, so I texted Chris asking for a quote, he called me straight back and told me he could be there in 2 hours. He arrived on time, was great to deal with, and explained exactly what he was doing each step of the way. He fixed our shower catcher that had slipped under the house, securing it tightly back into position, he then re-siliconed the bracket to the shower tray, unblocked the pipe, & made sure it drained properly. 0%"Chris was asked to replace a leaking hot water cylinder. He asked the size I wanted and then replaced it. It was dripping at the bottom and he had to come back and fix it. The water pressure was really low and when we had another plumber check on it, we were told Chris had replaced the high pressure cylinder with a low pressure cylinder.
