"This guy Neville Thomson from SL Fencing - StreamLine Fencing committed to finish the job in 2-3 weeks and today it's been 3 months and lot of work is still pending. For providing us the quote, he used to always come on time, but once we paid deposit, he hardly picked up the phone and no replies on message as well.
He did the partial job, hanging us in the middle and shattered all our plans that we had in our first home.
AVOID this fraudester. He always gives reasons like his employee is… sick, his wife has got surgery and appointment & blah blah blah.

Looks like he doesn't understand Karma."

"Great company to deal with I asked for a quote from Neville he turned up on time and got quote on the same day other fence companies took to long to reply.They started that week did a beautiful job on 2 boundaries removing the old fences,one being a very busy road 53 metres long and 35metres along second boundary. Check it out it’s on old Albany Highway opposite side of road from Stihl shop. They left everything clean and tidy all completed in a week as it was a rental property.. They even… reinstalled the neighbours letterbox. Very happy neighbour???? Would highly recommend these guys to anyone. I would use them again.

"This is the second job Neville has done for us in the last few years. I contacted other fencing contractors and got told what i could have, got Neville in and was told i could have exactly what I wanted and same as last time along came Tau. The posts and slats were hand selected by Tau, they are straight and the finished product is excellent. Some would say its only a fence but to me its a boundary statement."

"DO NOT use this Company and do not be sucked in by Neville. Like others here, he came around and gave a quote and also stated this would be 4 day Job, maybe longer for the gate. He was a no show on the start date that he gave us, no phn call or text from him, we had to call him numerous times till we got him. He gave the excuse that his worker was sick and apologised etc. This became the usual, a worker was sick, or he was sick and then his wife was in surgery and so on. But no call to let us… know etc, we had to call him, text him.

He has almost completed the fence ( that took 4 weeks ) and we still have no gate, it is now Feb 9th, we had to have our dog inside all times for the days that we had no fence in our backyard because they couldn't complete that in a day.( despite promising he would put up temp fencing )

To this day we are still unable to contact him. Why you would run a Business like this when its under your own name is beyond me ??!!"

"Neville was recommended to me after doing a nice job on my parent's fence. He was quick to quote and paid two site visits before starting the job in mid Nov 2018.Unfortunately after the deposit was paid, that's is where the good service stopped. His site team were not managed or supervised and the result is a fence with green timber oozing sap, concrete being unnecessarily cut up and not replaced, key fence posts not being concreted in, a fence that isn't even tall enough and not to mention… damage to the garden. The job was a straight forward one but it has turned into a real nightmare.Despite repeat phone calls, emails, texts since Nov 18 Neville has failed to make good on promises to rectify. I hate leaving any kind of bad reviews but honestly take on Neville at your own risk. I think he takes on more than he can manage but he is letting his own brand down with excuses and so are his team. I would avoid and go with someone who has better feedback. Save yourself the hassle and waste of time and money."

"I had two large driveway alluminium gates installed with locks which are sturdy. The gates look professionally installed, straight and line up perfectly. The manufacturing of the gates and colour is excellent. The gates were installed quickly over one and a half days. No problems and I am very happy with the job."

"We wanted a maintenance free outdoor living area and an above ground swim/spa pool. A few hiccups prior to commencement and Neville will admit he is occasionally hard to contact. And then along came Tau, this guy isn't a builder he is a master craftsman, his sub frames and attention to the underdeck was impressive, and the work volume satisfying, 10am on site, 7 pm finish with an occasional 5 minute break, by crikey they worked. We now have an outdoor living area we really appreciate.… Quality products, quality workmanship done in a timely manner"

"I contacted Neville to quote on a 110m boundary fence for my property on a Saturday. He agreed to come and look at the job the next day, on Sunday. He turned up on time and provided me with a quote within a couple of days. His pricing was very competitive and significantly less than the other quote that I had received. As it was a boundary fence, that was being jointly paid for, I needed to get the neighbour's agreement. They too were impressed with the price, however concerned about some… of the reviews that we found here. I spoke Neville about this and he was upfront about what went wrong with the jobs in question. He even offered a financial guarantee to allay our concerns around timeliness.

We awarded the job to Neville and his team, with an agreed delivery timeframe. The team arrived on the agreed start day and went straight to work. The supervisor of the job Tau, was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions on improvements to the design. I was impressed with the amount of work that the team got through each day and the quality of workmanship. The only delay was caused by the 10 April storm event in Auckland, however this was understandable as working in those condition was an untenable health and safety risk.

The job was delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner. I have already recommended Neville and his team to other people and would have no hesitation in using him again."

"Avoid at all costs this guy is hopeless!
I hired Neville to install a frameless glass fence around our pool in Sept 2015. It's now Oct 2017 and he has still not completed the 'fixes' he promised he would do. The fence itself is nice enough however the whole process was diabolical. Zero communication during the build and constant No-shows from him and his worker Tau.
The gate was finished around 2 months late and the self closing gate doesn't close! Now to add insult to injury the fence… post is rusted through..

I have repeatedly tried to get him to come remedy the gate but once again all I get is promises.

Neville seems like a good guy but his work ethic is disgraceful."

"I'd never use this company again. Neville arrived promptly for the quote and gave me confidence. He said it would take 3 days. It went downhill quickly from there. This job took nearly 4 months; there were a number of no shows, and a large number of issues that required remedial work. Neville gave me the impression that a mini-corrugate fence would be straight forward but his subbies that actually do the work had A LOT of trouble. The corrugate panels didn't line up and their uneven sheets… left dangerous sharp edges sticking out across each panel. We agreed a type of latch for the 1.8m gate and something completely different was installed that required us to reach right over the top of the gate. My shorter mother would get stuck on the other side every time. It took so long to get them back to fix everything. At one point Neville gave me some sob story about how Fillipo (the most commonly seen cowboy on my property) had just disappeared with Neville's truck and gear and hadn't been in contact for a few days. What sort of rubbish was that. These guys are terrible, avoid them like the plague."

"Do not use these cowboys. Nil communication. A number of no shows. Paid 50% deposit. Fence constructed was "ok". Two gates were eventually installed (months late) and were wrong size, not as quoted... and get this....cant be used as they hit downpipes or tap fittings when opened. Have to get in trade person to rectify their stuff ups. You have been warned !"

"The WORST company I've ever had dealings with. They quoted for 2 small sections of PVC fencing & gates in March 2017. I was initially happy with the quote and paid in good faith the 60% deposit requested to confirm the job.
In late July after having heard nothing from them regarding a start date and having no reply to emails I phoned. They scheduled the job for the very next week so if you are foolish enough to use them I think the technique is the scream the loudest. At 5pm the night… before the date agreed to do the job they attempted to cancel, I was furious and eventually they agreed to send someone. Much to my further shock they did the fence sections but no gates.

After another 2 weeks of no communication I got hold of them and they came to do the gates, however they'd put the posts in the wrong place so had to hand one gate swinging in the wrong direction so cannot be locked from inside the fenced area.

The job is still not finished on the 14th September, I have sent photos of the incomplete sections and the damage to one panel but again no word.

I've paid the final 40% of the quote in order to be rid of them.

DO NOT USE THEM OR TRUST THEM"

"We had just moved into a new subdivision and were looking to get a fence put up asap. After emailing a few people for quotes, we decided to go with Neville Thomson Fencing. They were the first to respond and most eager to come and get the job done.
When comparing the quotes Neville put more detail in, and seemed the most professional of the responses. In terms of price they were at a slight premium but the end product warranted it.
They could impressively start 5 days from confirmation,… and that was the deciding factor.

On the job he had a couple of guys doing good work, Filipo in particular excellent. Great speed and attention to detail, and the end product has has been complemented a number of times. For a relatively simple fence, that is impressive.

Neville has been easy to get hold of and good to deal with. I have recommended them to others in the area as our experience was very good."

"Highly recommend. We recently had our front fence done (all 52 meters of old wooden fence, replaced with Stratco Good Neighbor Fence ) by Neville Thompson Fencing and thought the services were great,very accommodating and the price very competitive. The team was very professional and efficient - carried on working in the cold and a bit of rain just ensure the job was finished in time. Communication before, during and after the job was clear and they even went out of their way to suggest… (aesthetically) a better way of fencing the property compared to what we initially thought was a good idea, even if it made the work more difficult. "Neville Thomson was recommended to us as a preferred installer by Chris Hickmott of Boundaryline Fencing who have branches in Auckland and Christchurch .I contacted Neville Thomson Fencing and he was prompt in responding and offered quotes for two different options we were looking at. He also gave us two addresses to view his work as a sample, which we had a chance to see and approve. We had requested for another quote from a different builder as a comparison for our preferred fencing option… and opted to go with Neville Thomson. Following this he was easily accessible and responded to our phone or email queries

A 50% deposit was paid before commencement of the job and the work was started within 3 days of payment. His off sider Dave, was a friendly, hard working trades person with attention to detail and worked tirelessly through bad weather. The job was done within the stipulated time frame and to our entire satisfaction.

I would certainly recommend Neville Thomson and Dave to anyone wishing to have their fence installed or repaired."

"Neville erected a side fence and a gate at the courtyard in my property. when I rang him to make a quote, he turned up at my place punctually and showed me a sketch and picture of the fence he was going to build for me. He is very professional and knowledgeable; he in fact gave me a very wonderful advice on the design of the fence. He supervised the work closely; he checked the work progress regularly, which gave me peace of mind. He had a professional staff of workers who produced a very… brilliant and marvellous work, a kind of quality workmanship that exceeded my expectation. "The job was started on December 27th 2014 and its happy anniversary to the worst experience of continuous ****ups by inexperienced people and guess what its still not completed.
My recommendation find a cowboy at least you may be able get a completed bad job not an incomplete one."

"Horrible Horrible experience!
Stay away from this fencing company at all costs. The 4 day job (as we were originally told with two workers it should take) took over 6 weeks, 20+ phone calls and 10+ emails to complete. Workers would turn up once in the week for 2,3,4 hours at a time after numerous phone calls/emails. Luckily we paid our 70% deposit before the job commenced so we were 'hooked' into the atrocious service from the get go.
Originally Neville turned up promptly for the… quote and the quote was 'reasonable' so we went with his service, the job started 2 weeks late (and as we had our previous fence removed by a specialist removal company we had to kennel our dog for extended periods of time whilst waiting for the new fence to be erected).

There where two occasions during the post concreting process where the building contractors rushed away from the job not checking the plumbness of the posts in the fresh concrete. Had I not double checked (and fixed) the posts the end result would have been crooked as hell!

Stay away from this fencing company (if you can call these jokers a company - more like disorganized baboons) at all costs.

The sloppy workmanship will make you wish you never hear of them in the first place"
