"I went to these guys as they're a local company and I thought they would do a good job. I asked them to have a look at my landcruiser as it was a bit loud, they decided to replace the brand new muffler with a different one. I accepted this as they are the "experts", paid the bill quite happily and left. A couple of weeks later I had an issue where the vehicle lost power and wouldn't drive, so I returned home. I was giving it a couple of revs to see if it had cleared and wondered why it was hissing out the exhaust and then the turbo overheated and it caught fire. I put this out with no major damage and tried to work out the issue. We suspected the computer may have lost it's tune so I booked it in to get it checked at another workshop, after 2 or 3 runs on the dyno, with no change to the tune and wildly varying power figures the muffler exploded. We've established this and the intial fire where due to something loose in the new muffler. I've contacted these guys to see what they'll do to rectify the situation and there response is it blew up! They won't replace it, return my phone calls or anything, so off to court we go."

"I had a CV boot replaced at short notice. I can do this job in about 3 hours on a bad day in my poorly equipped home garage. The labour is free, and the parts and sundries not much more (maybe $30).but I was out of town, Was charged $121.33 which I thought was very expensive for a simple job. Looking on internet it is apparently quite reasonable so won\'t complain too much. Last time I had one replaced it was at Midas Onehunga a couple of years ago and they charged $80 (plus gst). Where the job really fell (short in my opinion) was the messy finish. No attempt to clean any of the grease from the previous boot which was all over the exhaust manifold, and CV joint itself. If I have to pay top dollar for the job I expect a top job but overall not that bad."
