    "It was our first experience to install gas connection at our residential home. Used online reliability source to engage Regency for the installation. The plumber/installer Hayden was fantastic and professional with his work attitude and completion. But the Office girl ( Diane) was most unreliable and most uncooperative person to deal with. We rang her couple of times - first time to confirm appointment with plumber, she said she has already made the time and advised us, which was not correct. When we called her she said she can't contact the Installer/plumber but they will call and confirm time with us. When we told her this she completely denied this and blamed us for the error. We then agreed that this time she confirms the time and make sure we are available that we are at home for the installation. She gave us time between 7am to 8am but nobody turned up for the work. Only about 9.30 Plumber - Hayden called advising that he is running late and we agreed with that. When we went back to complain that to Diane - all she said we had a meeting and hence the delay? Initially she was so determined with the time and that she was right all the time, we took time and effort to be prepared before 7 am for the job and this is how Regency treated us? Finally Diane rang for the final payment why it was not paid without asking whether the completed and to our satisfaction? When we told her that we have already rang Hayden and advised him that the Hob was not properly aligned and he said that don't worry he will come back and sort that out for us. After telling her this she insisted that its our problem that we didn't call her to advise this - so this is how professional we found this person's attitude and unfortunately reflected on Regency Plumbing and hence our rating of Regency in this instance."

    "A huge power bill alerted us that we had a water leak. Had an idea where it was and when Regency,s plumber arrived after some digging he found the leak and repaired aT-joint. I kept watching the water meter over the next couple of days and was dismayed to find it ticking over even when nobody was home for some hours. I called Regency back and just before they arrived I discovered the hot water valve on the roof pouring out hot water. Jonathan, who was the plumber this time, was very good and contacted an electrian, who was also needed. Jonathan, rang to check if the electrian had arrived and then phoned back a couple of times to check all was well. I would certainly use Regency again."

    "Regency plumbing installed a basin on my vanity. It leaked from the overflow hole beneath the sink. Regan advises there is no such thing as an overflow in a sink and that it runs back in to the sink therefore can't leak. My sink has a hole beneath it. Apparently he didn't believe me. Then because its been removed already to find out what the problem is he in not prepared to install the new sink and vanity I have bought to replace it. His manner was aggressive manner and he is generally unpleasant to deal with."

    Absentee landlord, sent RP to an inner city apartment to fix a leak.
    Job needed parts and liaison with the building manager to turn off the water.
    RP said the leak was not my problem, but a body corp responsibility. Asked for this in writing, but didn't get it.
    Gave the OK to RP to proceed and furnished the building manager's details.
    Went to Orcland 11 days later. APARTMENT STILL LEAKING!
    RP could not get a guy there for 3 more days so I made other arrangements. I'm out $270 and nothing to show for it! Oh, and even tho' the Yellow Pages ad says you get a $20 discount if you mention it, they don't honour that either."

    "Got charged $70.44 for the guy merely just turning up and not fixing the problem, he spent less then 10min explaining that we needed a new tap (since our old one was leaking). We told him we would get one ourselves and call them back when we do. A few days later I get a call from this company wanting us to pay up for the 'travel fee', seriously?!? Your employees are living $70 of fuel away?. Seems a bit ridiculous that we're paying $70 for assessing the problem. I will not be recommending this company to anyone or using this company ever again due to the way that they charge customers. This is not the fault of the employee but the fault of the company as a whole in the way they charge customers."

    "We are disappointed with this review. In actual fact the fee was half our minimum charge (Travel and operating expense plus 15 mins labour) $70.44 On our visit on Saturday 12th Sept our plumber checked the leaking tap in the kitchen. He advised the customer that a new tap would be required. The customer was going to get a tap the same as they already had and call us back to install it. On the 1st Oct we called the customer who advised they have postponed replacing the tap. We then invoiced our minimum charge and advised the customer of this. The invoice has since been paid. "

    "HOPELESS....

    I had Regency 'plumbers' install a brand new hot water cylinder in my rental. The first plumber put the [tempering] valve on back to front so the tenants only got luke warm water for a few seconds.

    The second plumber from Regency was critical of the first plumbers 'workmanship' and put it in the correct way around.

    The cylinder then worked brilliantly for hours until one of the brand new parts they supplied and installed sprang a leak and flooded the two lower floors of the townhouse. An insurance claim was made for the cleaning company to come in. The third plumber from Regency replaced the part again. It worked brilliantly for a few hours before it flooded the top floor and the lower two floors again. This time the cleaning company had to drill dozens of holes in the lounge wall to force air into the wall cavities to dry the house. Industrial sized fans ran for a week and drove the poor tenants loopy. The fourth plumber replaced the faulty faulty part and it has worked well ever since. I am now $5,000 out of pocket for my insurance excess because Regency say it is not their fault and refuse to pay out of their insurance. WTF ? If you are looking for a good cleaning company I recommend JAE. If you are looking for a good plumber, I recommend anyone but Regency. See you at the Disputes Tribunal Regan. Hang your head and your "100% satisfaction guarantee" in shame."

    Regan responded:
    "This is a very unfair review. Everything in the review has been dealt with and the job - hot water cylinder is all working fine. Yes there was a part (product) issue which was unlucky that started this drama (not a part we normally use or recommend however it was what the merchant delivered so we used it to get the job done on the day). Bad move, but since then we changed the part to the model we normally use and needless to say it is resolved and working well. Immediate response service was offered and help was offered as much as we could. Despite the failure I understand Terry was happy at this point. In hind sight we should have taken the parts back to merchant and swapped them from day one, however that is by and by now. The outstanding issue which I do sympathize with Terry on is him being left out of pocket with a big excess. This is no excuse for Terry posting this bad review. I am very limited in what I can say as it is an insurance dispute at present although it is because Terry is part of a body corp and his insurance company closed the file that has caused most of the issue. Our insurance company has also been difficult although I have just spoken to our broker again and he has put a lot of pressure on them to resolve this. I had suggested to the broker that I pay the $5000 to Terry and then chase the insurance company myself for reimbursement, as a gesture of goodwill, but it did make it risky around the integrity of our statement as it was a manufacturers failure. I will not be doing this now that he has damaged our reputation as the premium plumbing company of Auckland for no reason at all. Terry knows I have tried to sort t as I cc him in on my emails to broker. Needless to say we hope to resolve this issue for Terry as soon as we can, and you can be sure that we will stand behind any job we do. You can trust us 100%."

    "This company is atrocious. Rude and useless. And we have friends who have had similar experience. They gave us wrong advice, said that things couldn't be fixed, and then said we were lying about what happened. But had no problem charging us! Will never use them again."

    "This review is very disappointing. Completely untrue and just sabotage of our business. Sadly some people cant have a simple conversation to resolve a job and work out a good solution. This job became a problem as the plumber who went to his site, actually our current employee of the month (so a top guy that everyone loves) suggested that because the laundry tub was leaking and the taps were basically stuffed that they consider fitting a new one rather than paying a plumber to drive around trying to find the parts to fix the old one, which is maybe not cost effective use of his time. End result was his wife fixed the leak, didn't do anything with the taps, and then he rang up angry calling our plumber a liar. Very different to his story. We charged him - he doesn't tell you we also repaired his leaking waste disposal unit, we charged nothing for the tub. They were supposed to let us know, did they want us to replace the tub or fix it? We could of fixed it also, however it would of been money better spent replacing it as when the taps stop working he will have to get out a plumber again. He rated us zero for reliability. When you turn up on time, smiling, ready to do the job you are 100% reliable, the quality of the job we actually did do was also 100%, the waste disposal unit is now fine, The value - when you are charged nothing (FREE) for an undone job the value can hardly be sneezed at, communication - to be fair maybe we didn't get the message clear enough for the wife to convey to the husband so they could decide did they want the tub fixed or replaced? Needless to say - rating us as zero is just distasteful, and sabotage of an award winning company, not helpful to anyone.... please check our other reviews for fair feedback. "

    "I would definitely rate Regency Plumbing as one of the best plumbing business I have dealt with. Daniel arrived to replace two bath taps, fix a leaking cistern and replace an under the bench water filter, all these parts Daniel had to source and install, the job only took 3hrs including travel time amazing ! He was polite efficient and knowledgeable, and was cost conscience the hole time. Big thanks to the hole team."

    "I'd like to voice my absolute DISPLEASURE with this business. Since December 2014 I have been trying to sort out a problem with a water leak somewhere in my house. The noise of water hissing can be heard in the main toilet of the house. Regency plumbing have sent two plumbers to fix the toilet, which isn't leaking by the way, so the noise is of course still there. I rang and complained about this and the Operations Manager came to visit, he left promising me that they would be back in contact to organise a person to come around with special equipment to listen for the leak and hopefully find it. STILL WAITING FOR A PHONE CALL LET ALONE A VISIT! Meanwhile we have now received two invoices for the work in December. We paid it on the day $212.50. The invoices are for $682.52. I rang and spoke with Noeline the office lady and she assured me it would be resolved. Obviously it hasn't been as the same invoice arrived in my letterbox again today. It's been 3 months! I have received no receipts for work paid for via online credit cards in December, no follow up phone calls or visits and quite frankly given the standard of service so far I don't expect to. This is the second time I've had a problem with this company, a few years ago they came and did a compliance check on our fire and wetback system. We never received the certificate of compliance or any communication of any kind regarding payment. Eventually we received a terse letter about 6 months later telling us to pay up. We did, still no certificate. Gave up waiting. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone."

    "For any potential Regency Plumbing customer who read this review, I would just like to clarify what really happened here as this review is unfair. For sure there is room for improvement on our side and we could have done better, especially around communication, and of course not duplicated an invoice by accident, however apart from that we actually did what we could for this customer to provide the best value for money, and to follow the most efficient process with the knowledge we had of the leak at the time. Sometimes plumbing can e a process of elimination starting with the cheaper problems first. Also I would like to note that the Christmas Holidays are right in the middle of this job where we almost have a complete company shut down for a couple of weeks. This also hindered a speedy process. The customer refers to us failing to satisfy her 2 years prior on another job and not meeting her expectation, however would she really of used us again if we hadn't done a good job in a timely and cost effective manner? I want to stay completely neutral on this and not just be one sided, but can confirm that as this customer is very hard to get hold of by phone, it makes her also very difficult to communicate with, and therefore making it challenging by all accounts to provide an outstanding experience for. I do not wish to be unfair or unreasonable, and I hope this customer will use us again, and if there is anything we can do for this customer to make the situation right, let us know and we will resolve it right away. For anyone else considering using us, I trust you will read our most common and regular reviews that highlight we strive to provide the best possible service we can.     "These guys rock - I had a very stressful time over a indoor water leak which had caused considerable water damage. When I compare this companies approach to the issue after a bad experience from another company that I called first, I was very impressed and grateful. The job was carried out very professionally. The holes that needed to be cut in the ceiling to determine leak were very neatly done, they were well organised and very considerate when it came to clean up.     "I was sent a letter by Watercare to say I was using a lot of water for a one person household and I should get a plumber to check for a leak so I phoned Regency Plumbing at once, and Campbell Winter came out the next morning
    (17th February) to do a check which he duly did, taps, fittings etc. but was unable to find any obvious cause . He then advised me to ring the Leak detection people and gave me the number. I did that and they came soon after and found a leak just near my metre. I then rang Cam back and he came that afternoon. He initially got the paving up and dug out the soil to where the pipe was and we then saw the split which was quite obvious and he came back as soon as he got the fittings. At all times Cam kept me in the picture, explaing everything to me. He was polite and helpful which took the stress away from me which I really appreciated. It was a pleasure to have him on my property and do the job so well. I will certainly use Regency Plumbing again. Kind regards, Joy

    "I'm impressed, usually every one is to busy to come when you want them. I phoned spoke to a very nice helpful person, named my time and day, this was available. The day came and half hour before the plumber was due to arrive he phoned to say he would be 10 minutes late, that impressed me to start with. Removing his shoes, in he came and checked the problem then just got on with it. Left no mess, was happy to take a cheque, gave me a receipt and in the mail a day or two later came the detailed invoice/receipt for my records. I also received a $35.00 discount when I told the plumber why I had chosen Regency Plumbers and as I'm on a pension I just love discounts. Thank you Regency you sure did what your ad says. LMW"

    "We had only been living in Auckland for one week in our new home (40 year old unit in a village for 55+ in New Lynn) when our cylinder started to bubble and boiling steam poured from the overflow pipe outside our kitchen! It looked and sounded like Rotorua's geyser area... and when it started to shriek I got really alarmed! A neighbour gave me an emergency plumber card, so I phoned Regency who said somebody would be there in 1/2 hour, and advised me of emergency call-out costs. I said to come anyway, as it was dangerous to be around. A young man called George arrived shortly, looked at the cylinder and said it was a faulty thermostat - therefore an electrician would be needed. But, he asked how old the cylinder was, and on hearing it must be about 40 years old, he suggested that we replace it, because it was looking as though it had come to the end of its working life, and his firm had a special offer for replacement of cylinder which included installation, plumbing and electrician. So I asked him to organise a new one asap. By the end of the following day a new, shiny cylinder had been installed downstairs, and connected to the electricity - and all of the mess, including the old cylinder, the old cupboard in which it was housed and lots of other building mess had been taken away, leaving a tidy space around the cylinder. I say a big thank you to Regency for quick, honest work, and to their really helpful and pleasant plumber George who did a great job and gave us peace of mind with his skills and professional workmanship. I would recommend Regency Plumbing to others"

    "Recently I purchased a Rheem 27LTR Integrity unit from Regency Plumbers. The service was terrific - Cameron was on time and the installation/removing the hot water cylinder proceeded with minimal disruption to my house in Sandringham. Cameron noted a slow leak coming from a redundant pipe under the house and quickly isolated this. Their electrician wired the unit in and I was very pleased with his work. I would warmly recommend this company and would use them again in future."

My call was answered within one ring, I was able to arrange a plumber for the time and day I required and the booking was completed in less than a minute.     "I attended a recent Home Show and obtained a quotation to install a Instant Hot Water System. At the pre installation visit I was informed that there was another option. This saved me nearly $1000. I went ahead with the installation plus 3 other jobs that I was able to afford due to the huge saving. I am so pleased with the completed job. We now have a Regency Plumbing magnet on the fridge and their phone number on the speed dial. You cannot get a higher recommendation than that. Thanks P R a great job."

    "We got a quote from Regency to redo our bathroom. Must admit they were very helpful and came around when it suited us, not the other way around as for many others. Had problems from the first day of the job when a new bath arrived even though we were told they would use the bath already there, if possible. More issues crept in as the time went by. Two weeks turned into TWO MONTHS as they needed to fix problems caused by lax subbies and what we can only imagine as a non existent manager. Not a company we would use again at all!"

    "To anyone who would read this review you can be sure we will strive to please you no matter what, unfortunately sometimes this will mean we take longer than originally anticipated. This job had a few issues, not sure about the bath one, that was always part of the job, the old one was light blue or grey by memory, sure wouldn't have looked to good in a nice new white bathroom. This job was well managed, maybe not closely enough to avoid a couple of the small mistakes, however this was one of those jobs that just had a couple of issues. Examples: The water pressure from the cylinder was poor so as an extra we needed to fix this up. Unfortunately though the plumber that fixed it had a leak which was not his fault as the valve wouldn't turn off to stop water flow, causing wet carpet around the hot water cupboard. They say management was bad, however as a level of service by Regency Plumbing our manager was in there a few hours later and arranged for all their carpets to be dried and cleaned for FREE!!! They actually won out of it, yet still weren't happy. We gave them flowers and chocolates, yet still a poor review. We did everything we could, however just difficult customers to please.     "Called on a Sunday as our Limiting Valve had burst. Guy arrived promptly to fix it, and seemed to do a good job. Was here about half an hour.
    He then presented me with a piece of paper on which he\'d written the total amount to pay - $534.37. It seemed expensive. I asked if I could have a breakdown of what exactly I was paying for - how much was parts, how much was labour, etc. He said he couldn\'t give it to me but I\'d get an itemized invoice in the mail. I didn\'t - I got an invoice with just the total written on it and no breakdown. That was a month ago. Since then I\'ve phoned them twice and emailed them once and still no itemized invoice. Was I ripped off How can I know I won\'t be using this company again.

    "I was charged an extra half hour for my job because the tradesman (after he finished ) sat outside my door phoning, writing and more phoning for that half hour.. I complained (in writing) as a rude office girl gave me no details of the bill until 3rd phone call. I asked for a refund of the half hour overcharge.. All I got was a $20 voucher for next job. No way !"

    "Left a phone message to enquire about a quote on Sunday and first thing Monday morning I received a call back which I thought was great service. We made arrangements for someone to come and quote the job that afternoon at a specified time. Again, great service I thought. They even told me that if they could make it earlier they would call and let me know. So I waited at home at the specified time....they never turned up. Didn\'t even have the courtesy to call and cancel. So much for the \"we\'ll turn up on time to get the job done\" blurb on their website -they couldn\'t even turn up at all, let alone on time to quote the job. A big zero out of ten for customer service."
