About us
Ruiterman contracting is based in Silverdale, we currently employee 11 staff with a combined experience of well over 50 years in the industry. We travel as far as needed for work if its the right job. We own 3 excavators from 5.5 ton to 13ton, we also own a truck to cart our materials around. We are a small/medium sized company but have been involved in some huge projects, big or small we take pride in everything we do.
What we do
Ruiterman Contracting has been in business for 8 years now and have made a big name for itself mainly in piling, retaining walls, civil and earthworks. As we branch out to nearly all jobs outside we have a huge support network consisting of plenty other contractors to complete all aspects of work; Concrete, landscaping, decks and foundations. We have been a referral only company for the past 8 years with no need to advertise, every job we have completed has created the next opportunity for us. We also are highly recommended by geotechnical and structural engineers. As our company grows and the civil market is slowing down slightly we have found ourselves wanting to push further into the private/residential market. We pride ourselves in our quality of work, knowledge, client relations and creating a safe working environment. Leaving behind the behind the best experience for our customers has created a long track record of quality testimonials!

"Shane did a beautiful job of repairing and improving our driveway. He got rid of all the mud, reshaped it so that it would drain correctly, Added a drainage channel, put new stones down, and compacted it and rolled it all smooth. He did all this very promptly at an excellent price. Communication was easy even though I'm currently located on the other side of the world.
The end result looks great."

"Shane and his team were recommend to us by another civil contractor.We found him extremely easy to communicate with, both him and his team turned up when they said they would and were super easy to deal with, quick and efficient.The wall they built us is 2m high and follows a 60m "S" shaped bank on a 1in4 gradient at the entrance to our property so it gets seen by everybody visiting our site and gets positive comments from everyone.
We are very happy with the result and highly recommend Shane and his team"

"We engaged Shane and Company to build a difficult retaining wall on a clay hillside on a developed site. 7.5m poles .05m wide at 1m intervals on at 3o from vertical.
They were at all times considerate of our needs and did an excellent technical job.
They cleaned up after themselves and dealt with any neighbour issues getting on and off the section. They were not phased by changes required as we went along and were happy to turn themselves to solving our other drainage issues during that most wet of summers."

"Shane and his crew constructed two retaining walls on our property and then fences atop of the retaining walls, as well as fencing on the remaining sides of the property.
Shane and his team kept us informed and problem solved as needed. The team made sure we had access to and from our property at all times.
The retaining walls, fences, drainage and gates are of superior quality and more robust than those they replaced. We are highly satisfied with the final outcome and would definitely recommend Ruiterman Contracting. Further more Shane has twice followed-up to ensure all is okay."

"We had Shane and his team handle drainage work after flooding around our house. They installed drainage at the back and side of our house and coordinated the concreting with another contractor. The staff were friendly, approachable, and did a great job. This was not an easy job due to the nature of the land and house structure. Highly recommend their services."
