    "got locked in on a contract, a BIG mistake - although the overall cost would have been fair if they could maintain a decent connection. I was constantly on hold with the customer centre at least once a week every week for two months with the amount of disruptions, I had their troubleshooting problems memorised, every single time I called I was told to go out and buy another filter at $25 and it was never the problem. On at least two occassions was told to go out a replace a modem that was less than 6 months old. Had to argue with them for 20 minutes to get a rebate on my bill whyen they didnt provide service for over a week. Absolutely nightmare, I would only recommend slingshot to people I hated."

    "Cancelled my account after 2 days due to connection charge which wasnt explained when i signed up. Told there would be no charge for the 2 days. Moved house the following month and found out 3 years later they had put a bad debt of $40 against my name. Useless customer service staff cant help and nobody answers phones or checks messages in the credit department. Stay away!!! Should have googled them before signing up."

    "Offered a 1TB free package for 3 months, when the download speeds were so horrendous that a simple download of a 700MB Linux CD took 4 hours, and this performance was repeatable across all sites.
    Got some of the worst customer service representatives possible.
    They advised me to buy a modem provided by before answering any questions related to the connection settings.
    When I signed up, the contract termination rate of $150 was hidden in a small font, but a non-applicable toll contract termination fee of $50 was highlighted, making one think that was all you would end up paying while breaking the contract.

    When I complained about speeds, they had no resolution or words of solace, but were happy enough to disconnect me if I so wished, without even taking my feedback.

    Got rid of them within 5 days of joining, and ended up losing $200 in the entire deal.

    The worst ISP I have ever dealt with.

    Speed sucks, customer service sucks, everything sucks big time.

    "Previously,(couple of months ago) I reported slowness Issues regarding my iternet connection which I hardly reported to them as they only available till 9pm.

    next day somone called asking to do speed test over NZDSL speedtest, (obviously I was doing that), and it still giving a very low speed 128-450K

    since that time someone was supposed to call me back, which never happens, so I tried to diagonise the problem myself as I'm an ASP Support engineer, I bought another ADSL router of a completely different brand, and it still giving the same speed.

    one of my friends works at telecome came and tested the connection with Xtra's test account and it seems to very fast 2856Kbps.

    even now my connection speed is 198K and even this time (10:28pm) isn't a busy period or anything of these ****ty excuses.

    somehow before half of this month an email coming to me told me that I exceeded the 10G which never happened before, so I purchased another 10GB bandwisth to keep myself to what you call "High speed internet" which is NOT.

    I asked for my services to be cancelled at the end of this month bill cycle, as I'm not gonna suffer anymore

    "I would highly recommend people dont bother signing up to Slingshot, their service is crap. They never really help you get a better service at all. Also to meet the requirements for a serviceman to come out you must be having frequent disconnections.. their definition is frequent is 10 a day!!!!
    Dont waste your time use someone else."

    "Completely unhelpful helpdesk with huge wait times, refusal to allow access to a supervisor, and idiotic policies. I work for one of NZ\'s top-rating companies in customer service and was gobsmacked. If I acted like the helpdesk people did to the customer I\'d get the sack and with good reason. They had a chance to fix the problem, didn\'t, and have now lost my business instead as my account will be cancelled tomorrow. Strongly recommend you look elsewhere, unfortunately."

    "In one word this company is ****. They have poor commication skills, lack of understanding and are in no way helpful. Spent up to 2 hours combined on hold. Set up with an online account, which I was denined access to when bill was overdue....pretty stupid that I can\'t access my own account to find out how much I need to pay! Douch bags. Paid and rung to follow up wtih finance team 4 times on hold for over 20 mins each call, resulting in no home services that night. Rang support who told me that they couldn\'t contact the finance team or email them, who the f can\'t email another person in their own company these days!! Laid a compaint only to be told it takes 7-10days to process, doubt I\'ll get a call back. Finance person was rude and made no effect to listen to me as the customer, kept cutting into my conversation and made excuses for their cave man set up. Will be disconnecting slingshot as a provider. Clearly this company has gone out and hired donkeys. Get with the 21st Centry slingshot!"

    "slingshot are the worst, terrible costomer service, terrible internet service and full of hidden fees, dare to complain and you get hit with their hundreds of dollars cancellation fees.
    better to not have internet than be with slingshot"
