    "ABYSMAL - do NOT shop here, While their in store service was great, that went out the window when it came to after sales delivery service. Calls not returned, no communication between staff members, badly organised delivery, multiple instances of damaged goods. It took two and a half months to finally get all our goods, after four attempts at delivery, wasting annual leave and had to cancel a BBQ at short notice. Dirty old floor models were delivered when we explicitly said we didn\'t want that. Items supposed to be delivered were \'forgotten\'. We bought $10,000 worth of stuff and asked for free BBQ tools (as offered by competitors) - they said yes in the store... but they were never delivered. When I followed up about this I was told they never agreed to it. The bed was damaged twice. I have since noticed the dressing table is also damaged,... but I am so sick of them we are going to try and fix it ourselves instead of get frustrated dealing with them again.

    I had to chase them up by phone literally over fifty times (I am not kidding) and each time I rang I was transferred to between 2-4 people to find someone who could (supposedly) help. So many excuses were given including saying they had equivalent issues as their competitors so I shouldn\'t expect much. But in fact at the same time I was dealing with Harvey Norman who did everything opposite to Smiths City - provided delivery times which were stuck to, checked goods for quality control before delivery, and resolved the one issue we had (loose fitting on outdoor umbrella) immediately with a smile. We have been back to Harvey Norman multiple times since.. BUT I will NEVER shop at Smiths City again... what a nightmare.

    My workmates heard me on the phone and they said I was so patient - that they would have given up long ago and demanded their money back... I eventually showed my frustration last week on the phone after two and a half months... and was told I had UNREASONABLE EXPECTATIONS. I couldn\'t believe it. You hand over $10,000 and expect to get goods for it and not have to have four days at least of your time wasted. I don\'t think that is unreasonable at all.
