We had Neil referred from a neighbour, and I was out so I never met Neil. I had left instructions with a disabled person, who has difficulty talking, about the work on the roof, following a leak -- which were in 2 spots. Only one spot was covered. Plumber tightened a few screws...
I did ask for Neil to follow up, on the middle part of the roof, and didn´t hear back.
We need washers to be changed on various taps, and decided to contract them again. Jarrod came this time, and… changed 6 taps... and an insikerator.
"Some time after the hot water in the bathroom basin started leaking heavily, and I went back to Jarrod by email for him to return to explain what the problem was (current tightened and leaks and unusable-- so no hot water for a disabled person), I got no answer from various emails after 3 months, and called also finally to recently receive a call from Neil early April (who hadn´t done the washer´s jobs as Jarrod had done them). Neil ended up saying he wouldn´t help -- that taps were old... and refused to return under CGAct, to see what the problem may be, so it can be fixed... so we were and continue to be left high and dry... and Winter is Coming...
Neil actually hanged up at me, saying he wouldn´t help... which I found to be out of place.
A CAB person who has taps dating 1914 told me it isn´t the age of taps that matters but whether the thread was done properly, and that I should encourage the plumber to return to verify his job. The CAB person even did call the plumber to be hanged up again, with some new excuse such as tap too old and timeframe and other excuses that were found to be irrelevant to fixing that leaking hot water tap ... In fact Jarrod had mentioned that our taps Methven, stand the distance compared to new ones nowadays... and that they are impossible to find these days, that quality of taps...
Result is that since early february we have tried to get the plumber back and now are told that they won´t back up their job...
We are gutted, as I am helping a disabled person on SLP, and I do the best I can to help him in his circumstances. Winter is coming, and it would only be fair that the plumber returns to help... but he said he won´t... We welcome that he will reconsider to the fix the leaking hot water tap.
Plumber was rude by saying ´get yourself another plumber and then hanging up without being of service´... It´d be nice to know that plumbers also cared and are happy to help a disabled person, not just people on a high budget.
We hope the plumber will reconsider and help, and thank you for this.
Or any other plumber who can help in this horrible and unfair situation...
Thank you so much.
Warm regards,
Jo on behalf of disabled person David.
We still have not resolved the situation and had to get another plumber -- this should have been resolved under Consumer Guarantees Act as the tap job was unsatisfactory...
Unsure if this tradesman is still with no cowboys ?
Thanks for reply.
